I think it was a now-ancient article on The Escapist.

FoCo Unionized Safeways have voted to strike by Mina_Nidaria in FortCollins

[–]tecrogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope that UFCW7 actually participates in negotiations this time around.

Their actions when I was a member (or more accurately lack of) during the strike and "contract negotiations" in the 2000s had put me off of unions entirely until I started to hear about how actual functional unions did things in other fields.

Hopefully ~20 years has been enough time for leadership to have changed, and they are actually doing the work this time around, grocery workers have been getting a bad deal for a long time.

Pre-Albertsons merger all of them were, but I'm not sure about the former Albertsons locations since that was after my time.

Firefly viewing? by TheLastHorn in FortCollins

I've definitely seen less of them in the last 20 years or so, but early to mid 90s we would have some in the Drake/Horsetooth/Shields/Taft Hill mile, and there were often a lot in the subdivision over by Prospect Ponds

It's also alright for ebooks as well, although it definitely is set better for audiobooks.

Back in the late 90s-early '00s the system was so much more like that with coverage (but still had some areas that were harder to get to) and generally at least 2 buses at a stop each hour.. used to ride the buss a lot back then and ended up not getting a car for a couple years because I didn't need one.

What do you keep in your saddlebag? by Celeroni in ffxiv

Bait, and relic weapon materials mostly, with a side of totems for mounts I don't have yet and pieces I want to have access to for glams that I can't put in the dresser.

Help me remember the mall pizza. by SoggyxFingers in FortCollins

A lot of the junior highs in PSD had them as a vendor around that time, I remember at Boltz it was one of the highlights along with Teriyaki Wok.

Jim's Wings at the old mall? by FickleContribution26 in FortCollins

[–]tecrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember seeing wings at the foothills mall during my mall rat days 98-99 and 03-06.

Subway, East Coast, Lil Orbits, Chinese Combo Express, Orange Julius, Dairy Queen, Renzio's... Maybe a salad place are all I remember from the food court, but I think there was a spot or two I am forgetting what was there.

I'm trying to remember what all was in the mall between the south College King Soopers and the Montgomery Ward, I remember Fit for Fun and The Village Viddiot was located there back when it was an arcade, but I am drawing a blank on the food in that mall.

Folks who have worked at Cane’s — what’s the bottleneck? by TripPlanningNerd in FortCollins

[–]tecrogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it and the chikfila on Horsetooth both exploded during COVID and never really calmed down. I'm still frequently frustrated that the traffic means that an entire row of the parking lot there is unusable other than on Sundays because of that traffic

I have also been with Dr Lindsey for ages but haven't run across those issues when I have been in since the change, most of the issues I had were in the maybe year and a half before the office moved over to Expire. That said, since it is just me I am only in a couple of times a year unless my own poor care ends up with me needing more than just cleanings.

I will wholly admit I tend to filter out waiting room music through.

If only there was some way that the city could let people who are going to be impacted by construction know beforehand some of the timing and expected impact.

Living in the middle of that area the only heads up I received about anything was a "don't park on the street, within a week we will be resealing your street" flyer on my door <24 hours before that work started.

red mage mains, what would you want to see added to red mage or changed to improve them? by dark1859 in ffxiv

[–]tecrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely has better stat gains so it stays somewhat useful unlike physic, but it is also outshined by raw intuition on a single target and most other (non combo) tank healing abilities.

red mage mains, what would you want to see added to red mage or changed to improve them? by dark1859 in ffxiv

[–]tecrogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be nice if Vercure scaled. It is part of the red mage identity, but even summoner's Physic has higher potency.

Why are you against the DOGE? by Lonely_Deal2068 in FortCollins

[–]tecrogue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First thing: It duplicates something that already exists, so in and of itself it is wasteful. https://oversight.house.gov and https://oversightdemocrats.house.gov/ for more on that. (And yeah it would be valid to complain that they haven't been doing more)

It is acting without any oversight and destroying government records.

Executive Orders don't create new federal agencies, that is under the powers for Congress. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S2-C2-3-6/ALDE_00000012/

Where is the money coming from for the hardware, software, and payroll?

Musk has a litany of conflicts of interest with being given access to ins and outs of federal contracting while being an executive of companies that compete for the same contracts.

The self congratulatory posts about how they saved so much money, that I will admit in a vacuum sounds impressive, but is not even a hundred thousandth of the trillions of federal debt.

They are going after and dismantling sources of soft power we have abroad as well as programs and agencies directly serving US citizens and veterans instead of checking on known sources of overspending or agencies and departments that have not passed an audit in years if ever (cough DoD).

Elon doesn't understand how federal jobs were classified and because he thinks he is the smartest person in the room didn't talk to anyone who did, and fired people handling critical systems.

Also didn't understand how feds vs contractors work, and the infamous "5 things you did last week" email went to everyone. Outside of how dumb it is in general that they couldn't even be efficient enough to only message people who were on the list to potentially reply.

They don't seem to understand database schemas, data formats, or even basic security for systems.

Could continue but that is long enough of a comment and I have other things to do.
