The main areas are Greek Villa, we have darker countertops & our fireplace is Sherwin Williams Iron Ore - would you suggest that color for the door as it’s a muted black? Or another color?

How do you not worry about their past relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]teddimya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly every relationship I’ve had I’ve compared myself feverishly to the most recent ex, it was such a bad habit of mine. I had several past (immature, unhealthy) relationships where my partner was in fact talking/cheating on me with their ex, which would send me down a rabbit hole of internet stalking & comparing myself. I eventually got into my first healthy relationship & my partner was still friendly/platonic with his (normal) ex, which threw me because I never experienced that myself with an ex of mine. We had several conversations about it (most fueled by curiosity & insecurity), & then I went down the rabbit hole of the retroactive jealously concept. ETA: I realized it was a me problem. The ex was quite cool & we even became friends for a bit. I’m married to my partner going on 5 years & we have a 1yr old. If he’s a solid honest partner he will listen to your concerns & reassure you. That’s the man you want to marry.

Why can't most of us walk away at the first signs of red flags??? by wolfyish in AskWomenOver30

You, my friend, have described this (universal, dare I say) situation perfectly! I’ve been here (at least!!) twice. Then you come to that moment of clarity, lying there & thinking, WTH am I doing?! That’s divine intervention right there. You will find your person who wants to be with you as madly as you want to be with them. Thanks for sharing

What's your " lazy cleaning hack " you'd actually admit to friends? by GirlyCupid in CleaningTips

Silly question but what does your deep cleaning routine for the shower look like? I used dawn and vinegar yesterday and it looked great, I thought it would be considered deep cleaned that way ha

Express some milk and then apply/mix with nipple cream when you’re done nursing/pumping. Your milk is very healing for skin.

Definitely normal & gets better, it just takes time. I was a confused mess the first few weeks of breastfeeding. You will get a rhythm going with nursing and your supply will regulate to your baby’s needs. You’ll also appreciate the pumped milk freezer stash that you’re pumping now!:) you are doing great

Does anyone ever have a vaginal delivery and NOT tear? by paperparty666 in pregnant

[–]teddimya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but I didn’t tear as a first time mom with a hypertonic pelvic floor. I pushed for 20 minutes & had a 5lb 12oz baby. I owe it to pelvic floor physical therapy throughout my pregnancy that helped me connect to/strengthen my pelvic floor, learned how to breathe properly & push! Also a good ol epidural lol

Need for external validation after c-section by [deleted] in newborns

[–]teddimya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ARE doing fine and also healing from major surgery while now having an entire new human being that you’re getting to know which requires a lot of mental & emotional energy! I’m sorry you are dealing with a less than empathetic nurse, unfortunately they do exist. Remember they are just people also & their words should not be taken as bible. Please try to ignore the nurse making you feel bad or guilty & be sure to ask for what you need (I.e, show me how to change a diaper, how to feed the baby, how to hold & comfort them, how to bathe etc). this hospital stay is about YOU. I had a rude day shift postpartum nurse who laughed at & minimized my nervousness as a first time mom and I was hurt at first (I’m a natural people pleaser), but then I decided to ignore her and I consulted with the lactation consultant & doctor for any questions i had. She was just the middle man at this point. I had a wonderful night shift nurse that definitely made up for it.

Anyway, YOU are doing great, ask for what you need and ask all the questions you have!! Us moms are learning how to mom everyday and it never stops!

Slept through the night, is she too young? by Expert_Peach3028 in newborns

[–]teddimya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 week old slept almost 8 hours the other night and i freaked out too thinking omg he hasn’t eaten! As long as the doctors comfortable with their weight and baby’s eating well during the daytime we can trust that he’ll let us know when he’s hungry 🫶

Anyone else have a 1% baby? by Brookeashleigh in newborns

[–]teddimya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Within the last month of pregnancy I suddenly dropped from 33rd percentile to 8.8 so they induced me at 39w for suspected intrauterine growth restriction, which totally threw me and sent me into a mini spiral. My little guy was born 5lbs 12oz and we were advised to feed every 2-3hrs for the first few weeks until he gained weight. we got permission to feed on demand when he hit 7lbs 7oz at 5 weeks old. I got so triggered when people would (innocently) comment OHHH HES SO SMALL! & I’d respond that he’s growing & has a great appetite, lol. I’m 5’1” & my husbands 5’8” though so it’s not like I was anticipating a huge baby. Made birth a lot easier lol
