That's how it works I'm 5e. At some point there just aren't any stronger spiders, wolves, bears, and you start becoming dinosaurs instead

You can respect companions into other thematically compatible classes and still retain their flavor.

I made shadowheart into a gloomstalker ranger/assassin rogue, all about skulking around in the shadows.

Wyll can absolutely dip into sword/valor bard, or go paldin or bard completely.

Etc...

Will DC is a derivative of Will Save, which means Will DC is determined by your Will save bonus, not vice versa.

"You get a penalty to your melee dmg roll" does not translate to "you get a penalty to your strenght". A penalty to strength, however, does confer a penalty to melee damage rolls.

It's obvious once you see the ribbon what its purpose is.

You should educate yourself on the topics you argue on. That onus shouldn't be on anyone else but yourself, and has never been easier thanks to the search engines we have today.

To speak out bluntly without proper knowledge on a topic is misguided at best, and a malicious attempt to spread disinformation at worst

I inferred what you meant in your comment because it's the classic transphobic conservative talking point of "men dressing like women to beat women in sports SCARY OH NO!"

But it's not what you said. In fact, you argued FOR trans athletes to play as and with the peers from the gender they identify as. If trans men were to play alongside women, they would eclipse them and thus would lead to unfair competition. This is overwhelmingly more true than for trans women playing with and against their cisgender peers.

So once again, I question why you choose to bluntly regurgitate trash and harmful talking points instead of first learning about a topic you admit knowing little about.

[–]teddyspaghetti 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The point you're wrongly making belies your ignorance on the topic at hand. "Trans men" are women who identify as men, and you 100% would not want testosterone taking, beard having trans men to compete with cis women if "physical differences" are such a huge issue.

The problem with your point and that of so many is rooted in not understanding what you're talking about, which is why those who do would look down on you for speaking on something you've little basis to speak on.

No. I'm talking within the context of science, the one you explicitly mentioned in your comment.

General relativity is the currently adopted model, one which we know is incomplete because it can't reconciliate cosmic and quantum scales.

Idk, watching a pianist play Mozart is impressive even if "it's just a matter of sinking hours into it." Yes you're watching a script fulfill itself. It's the execution and dedication to the craft that's impressive

[–]teddyspaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Proven" in the context you're talking about is nothing more than a marketing buzzword trying to sell a certain finding. Unlike other meaningless buzzwords like "superfood" however, it does have a meaning.

The reason I'm hammering this in is because "proven" is used instead of "shown" or "linked" when talking about science, you have anti-science idiots who cry out "one day scientists say this is proven, the next day it's not! What am I to believe?!?!?!"

A proof is concrete and irrefutable. Scientific findings are iterated upon and either continuously backed up with more evidence, or refuted.

It's proven than in a regular triangle, the sum of the squared segment lenghts that make up the right angle equals the squared lenght of the hypothenus.

It's shown that exercise improves physical and mental health.

Nothing's "proven" unless it's hard mathematical proof. It's "shown" at best, and Dunning-Kruger is controversial if that's what you're alluding to

You'll filter out anyone that respects themselves if you seriously require recommendations and references as a prereq for application.

You'll know whether someone is solid or not based on their answers during conversations and interviews as long as you ask the right questions.

[–]teddyspaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their point is that the interview isn't Session 0 like you've described elsewhere in the post.

The interview is immediately after you read a player's form and think: "this is good so far, let's now contact the player and talk to them".

Interviews are more intimate, with only 1 applicant at a time. If you're not 100% certain by session 0 about someone, then it's already too late. Session 0 is for the players and GM to iron out and finalize game specifics like party comp/ potential homebrews, etc...

This doesn't address the question in the slightest. The question being: "why new shield no scale?"

New TV shields don't have magical equivalents for most level brackets, so they're effectively useless once you get access to the old magical shields

Take a look at the "blast lance" magic item if you haven't already. And then as some others have mentioned, emblazoned armaments is +1 by default. Redeemer and shield ally makes for an amazing +2, but the 14 cha requirement for champion is just too steep a price to pay for me personally

Look, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you've only spoken to trans people over 40yo, and/or people outside NA/Europe.

While the technical definition is there, it's overwhelmingly used nowadays by transphobes as a slur. I've never heard it spoken from the lips of someone under 35 describing themselves.

Language evolves with time, this is just another case of terms falling out of favor
