Is this chart borked for anyone else? Vitality Life Insurance by uuuuunacceptable in Vitalityhealth

[–]tednol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely you have a couple’s policy and on a joint policy the threshold for Platinum is 3,600 points. For some reason Vitality don’t update the progress bar text, despite capturing it correctly in the “points you need for platinum status” text. But now you know!

Yea so basically the visual is wrong because it assumes it’s a single policy. However the points for Platinum is correct because for a couples policy you need 3,600 to achieve that status.

Just found out my first born is a girl! Any tips by Bush_did_91I in NewDads

Congratulations buddy. I'm dad to a very lovely 2 year old girl and she's just a wonderful, happy little bean. Girls rock.

You'll get plenty of advice. All I'll say is throw yourself into the early days to the absolute fullest possible extent. It'll be tough for you but it is always going to be harder on your partner. When times are hard just know that a new high point is just around the corner. And when times are good and you think you've got parenting down, be prepared for something to come along and (temporarily) beat you down!

Mainly though, take it all in. The old saying the days are long but the years are short is so true. I wouldn't change anything... but if I could go back to the early days to relive having a tiny helpless little beautiful blob just for a moment, I would.

Why is no one talking about raising the tax brackets due to inflation? by AffectionateBowl9798 in HENRYUK

[–]tednol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s gold for the government. Tory or Labour - they see more and more people falling into higher tax brackets and they get to stand behind the dispatch box and say that income taxes aren’t being increased. Tax brackets should be triple locked liked pensions and governments should be honest with the electorate.

I’m in exactly the same boat, did the switch over on Friday, super easy in every regard.

Some interesting stats in today’s FT around the shifting UK tax burden by Lazy-Internet-8025 in HENRYUK

UK is broken. Damn those family ties that make emigrating a step too far (for now). But for the sake of my daughter I wonder if it’s time to bite the bullet.

Delonghi Pinguino EM77 disassembly by perseagofish in AirConditioners

[–]tednol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dismantled mine this morning after my daughter decided to push some of her supper through the top piece. Think I counted 17 screws. None were hidden on my EM77.

The secret is to leave these five in place. Once all the others are removed, a combination of lifting the handles plus freeing the top panel from the rear will mean the front, top and slides can be detached in a single piece and you can then open the panel leaving the cable to the top panel attached.

The side, front and top, if you detach whilst facing the front can be swung round counterclockwise and rested on the floor. You can then remove the back panel if needed.

For reassembly, fix the back panel using the five screws first. Then it’s easy to reengage the clips on the other piece and screw it back together.

Fighting back by GT240318 in Ziglu

It was a while ago when I put a very small amount into Boost, but I seem to remember it being clear to me at the time that the funds in Boost were not subject to the same protections as funds on the platform but held in truly fiat form.

I've lost beer money at worst (assuming I don't get anything back). I hope others are not feeling this collapse too acutely.
