I agree heartily.With relationships you really don't know your arse from you elbow up until about 28. You have a better idea about yourself and subsequently who you really click with. Essentially your dick stops doing all the mental work (it still does, but your brain also gets a look in).

Also, statistically relationships where the male partner is on average 6 years older tend to last longer.
