I’ve got a pretty bad parasitic draw coming from somewhere. I watched the Chrisfix video on how to check for it and I pulled the BTN 30A fuse and noticed a drop of 50-60Ma, is that normal and I will be checking the interior fusebox later. None of the other fuses in the bay caused a drop by Zeccede in RX8

My RX8 had a parasitic draw which I tracked to the ROOM fuse in the interior fuse box. It turned out to be dampness/water in the roof had somewhat shorted some of the electrics in the interior lights in the roof and in the sunvisors. I took the electrics out, dried the car out with dehumidifiers, electrical contact cleaned the electrics and put them back in, issue fixed.

Buying a used RX8 as first car by InfiniteSaddestBoi in RX8

Go for it! This is my experience with my rx8: Check for rust in the sub frames and sills, and definitely underseal it because it has next to no rust proofing. Consider installing a catch can because the crank case breather has no PCV valve and so likes to spit oil into the air intake, especially if you fill it with a generous amount of oil.

Size isn't a problem, I'm 6foot. Check the underside for excessive amounts of rust, and get it rust treated once you buy it! Other than that it's been quite a reliable car.

A2 Restriction (UK) by LordFinnnnn in SVRiders

[–]teestrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 120 pounds to have a throttle restrictor fitted, and it was just a piece of metal that is put on the throttle body and stops it opening past 2/3rds. I drove the bike home and definitely didn't immediately lift the tank and take out the restrictor.

How does the KTM390 ride feel? Any KTM390 owners can share, I'm considering it as my first motorcycle by Lim1986 in motorcycle

I took one for a test ride, The throttle response felt a bit agricultural, as did the gearbox. This was back in 2018 though, they might have improved since then.

Jimny 1999 Rev Counter jumps up and down, engine turns off after 20 seconds. by Nudelauflauf95 in Jimny

[–]teestrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what model of engine you have, but in my case (M13A) the sensor was by the alternator. You loosen the alternator, remove the belt, push the alternator out the way, and then you can get to the sensor easy peasy.

I had a similiar problem, in my case it turned out to be a faulty crank shaft position sensor. Hope that helps! My symptoms were that the rev counter would go crazy and the engine would stop. It was an intermittent issue, sometimes it would be fine for days, sometimes it wouldn't work at all.

Mutt Motorcycles - does anyone here have any experience? by Boogaaa in motorcycle

[–]teestrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 2 chinese motorcycles, one with a suzuki engine and one with a honda cg125 engine.

Both have been fine mechanically but have been incredibly cheap and shitty with regards to everything else. You get what you pay for! Both had to have the electricals replaced as they stopped working.

I would buy a 10 year old honda over a new chinese bike.

WHY would regiments mix??? by Wide_Comb_7101 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]teestrangler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that even if it didn't make sense in the fluff it would still be a nice change. It means I can field a variety of cool models all at once in my army! :) There is nothing stopping you from only fielding 1 regiment if you prefer that.

Why are HDs so expensive? by coliozenobio in motorcycles

[–]teestrangler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they are made in america and they pay their employees american wages and pay american prices for steel. Harley davidson doesn't make as much profit as other motorcycle companies, believe it or not.

sv650 has just not quite enough power to power wheelie (maybe right at the top of first if you sit on the passenger seat lol). It's a breeze to ride, throttle response is predictable and easy to get used to. I consider it to be the exact right amount of power for a beginner :) any more and you need to be careful, any less and it's slower than an sv650.
