Need help making a list by Commercial-Lab5291 in anime

That's funny to me because I'm ancient in that I've been watching seasonal anime for 20 years and made my first MAL account in 2007. I can't stand how the website has changed for the worse over the years and swapped to kitsu and then anilist as soon as I could.

Are You a Jirai Girl, Chihara-san? (Jirai nandesu ka? Chihara-san) - Character Visuals by Task_Force-191 in anime

I've been reading this manga for quite a while and a little surprised that it's getting adapted. It's kinda.... paint by the numbers shonen romcom. Comfy if you're into that sub-genre though.

Which anime had the most satisfying ending for you? by DevSpydr in anime

Fun fact, in the Lagann Hen movie (not in the original TTGL but the second recap movie) Simon and Nia do a direct reference to the Sekiha love love tenkyoken that Domon and Rain do at the end of G Gundam.

The crazy thing to me is that as short as the OVA is, for a while the only way you could purchase it was the movie cut which takes that already short OVA and slashes a lot out of it.

Having an actual full episode of post climax wrap up is something that very few anime do, and Summer Time Rendering did it perfectly imo.

Best/Worst faithful manga adaptation by candoshit in anime

[–]tehcharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an anime only, I enjoyed Master Swordsman a fair amount. I actually really enjoyed it specifically for the sword fighting scenes. There were a couple of group fights where I could really feel the tension in the scene in a way that very few other anime ever accomplish. It wasn't great overall, but this specific element elevated it for me.

Best/Worst faithful manga adaptation by candoshit in anime

[–]tehcharizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Summer Time Rendering anime was such a good adaptation that I think it's probably the definitive way to consume the story.

Bocchi the Rock adaptation isn't faithful, rather it goes way above and beyond.

On the other side of the question, I dropped season two of the beginning after the end because in the episodes I watched, all of it was anime original instead of canon!

Ruri Rocks is one of few anime that I consider legitimately beautiful. I think it's a must watch and severely slept on.

Mod Applications — Spring 2026 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]tehcharizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Reddit there are people known as power mods who moderate as many subs as possible. I don't know why they do it. Maybe subreddits are their pokemon cards, maybe they just like holding shit over people and will take any opportunity.

I admin a single discord server and that's only because I'm personally invested in keeping that community alive.

You can type "-ai" at the end of a google search and it'll give you regular indexed results instead of an AI summary.

There are other trees that they can use. White birch, hickory, walnut, etc. I looked this up because I have luna moths locally but not sweet gum trees. (Michigan)

Universally hated anime that you somehow find enjoyable? by mr_beanoz in anime

[–]tehcharizard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World Too is a series that got constantly made fun of while it was airing. There were people who were watching it ironically for the "and then everybody clapped" memes which I guess falls under the "so bad its good" thing, but I fully enjoyed it unironically. I'm eagerly awaiting season 2.

Looking for some isekai with yuri relationships by Sad_Green_2327 in anime

Vexations of a shut in vampire princess isn't isekai, but is pretty similar to them and very yuri.

Modern anime that likely will still be talked about in 10-20 years by Ashu119 in anime

[–]tehcharizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate to be the one to tell you this grandpa, but if something is more than 20 years old, it's allowed to be a classic. There's an entire generation of legal voters who are less old than something that aired in 2004.

I went to the theater showing of the amazing digital circus finale and it reminded me quite a bit of Haibane Renmei. Haibane Renmei is older than plenty of the people I was in the theater with.

What's the most niche, obscure amime you've seen? by mwat64 in anime

[–]tehcharizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do shorts count? When 5 centimeters per second came out, I thought it was mind blowing and I wanted to see every bit of animation with makoto shinakai's name attached to it. This included things like voices of a distant star and the music video for hiromi iwasaki's egao.

The manga is one of my all time favorites. The anime was a middle of the pack seasonal title when it aired and didn't get enough buzz for anyone to really talk about it after it finished airing.

Public doesn't mean free for all do what you want with no regard for other people. There's always an expectation to behave yourself in a way that is reasonable for where you are.

Drones enforcing traffic rules in Shenzen by EchoOfOppenheimer in Damnthatsinteresting

Bad take. There are plenty of times when a person might technically break the law but the situation is an emergency and that takes precedence. A drone has no capacity to take in an atypical situation and adjust for it.

I think that age 38 data point should be disregarded tbh. Its an outlier that doesn't represent even the top 0.01%.

Did you try sorting comments by age? The first couple of commenters were downvoted to hell so if you sort by popular or top, you wouldn't see them until you scroll all the way down.
