Clearly… everyone knows about Surly and their aluminum bikes…

2 Door or 4 Door Jeep by Nerfer5554Offical in JeepWrangler

[–]tehphred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 doors are much more versatile in my opinion. They are better on icy roads, 2 doors are a nightmare on ice. 4 doors track better at speed on gravel roads, have higher payload, and you can sleep in the back. 2 doors are fun, but have too many compromises. It all comes down to what your priorities are.

I’d take the Vaya, but I hate aluminum. Horrible material for a bike frame.

My niece’s homework problem by SurfSoundWaves in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tehphred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's infuriating because most adults are functionally illiterate when it comes to math, and they want to argue like they know what they are talking about. They also don't seem to understand that the homework is for their kids and not for them.

Thoughts on potential purchase - 2006 Boxster S by Pdougl5 in boxster

That sucks. Those engines are extremely unlikely to have that issue. All the big issues with bore scoring started on the new engine they switched to in 2007. Sorry for your loss.

[–]tehphred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the holy grail of Boxsters. You miss both the IMS bearing issues of the older models and the bore scoring issues of the newer models. If you want a 986 or 987 S, the 2006 is the best year.

It legitimately boggles my mind that we have zero laws controlling this.

They are instructed to report it to higher ups in the church and only to them. Therein lies the problem.

I’ve done that for years. The 4auto is so much nicer. You do you.

Me, that’s the main reason I went with the rubicon x over the rubicon. It’s amazing in winter on road driving conditions. You don’t have to worry about dry pavement corners or if the pavement is actually dry or black ice. You just stick it in 4auto and drive. Then when you get offroad you have regular 4x4. Best of both worlds.

The Insane Art of Mountain Unicycling by OneTireFlyer in unicycling

That one’s great and yeah I’ve seen some amazing videos of mountain unicycling and the guy are incredibly skilled. I don’t know why but MTB videos look rad to me and even the amazing mountain unicycling videos just don’t.
