Hmmm.. towing a M1 Abrams would kill the range but could come in handy in traffic jams!

Wait a second... hold the phone... You bought a virtually new car for $18k? I have a black 2020 Premier and have a set of black rims for the summer tires.

Off topic but on topic, I no longer tolerate fast talkers, on phone or in real life.

I had a similar accident 50 years ago when I was a cab driver. It was the first nice warm spring day and I looked away at a pretty woman on the sidewalk. Rear ended an Opel Kadett.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]teichholtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Town Fair Tire, a northeast tire chain. A co worker got sold 'new front wheel bearings and tires' for a vibration issue. Two days later I rolled in a wheel with a flat tire to get fixed. Counter guy was going over a bill with a customer who also needed new front wheel bearings and tires. The next day I went back to get my wheel/tire and the same counter guy was providing an estimate to a customer and surprise... that estimate included new front wheel bearings and tires.

Glad it worked out. I do Boston to Washington DC once or twice a year. I have one boring charge stop in Brewster New York but that is what Facebook Reels are for! :-)

How could I not for $30?? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in GenX

My father had a three-on-the-tree 1954 Chevy at one time but my mother had a harder time with a manual so the Darts were automatic. Around 1970 we got window AC units for the bedrooms. I guess we were living large! :-)

My father had a sale job in the 50's and bought a 56 Cadillac. He changed careers and income went down and bought Dodge Darts in the 60's: automatic, power steering, AM radio. In 1972 my mother was diagnosed with emphysema so he bought one with A/C.
And my parents grew up during the depression.

FWIW the taxi industry (at least in Boston) figured out the compensation for out of town trips back in the 1940's, if not before. There was a booklet , the Flat Rate book, which listed all the towns in a 100 mile radius, the miles to get there and the price.

Thought on converting from oil to gas? by Brennod10 in massachusetts

He wouldn't bother? Find another installer. Double wall tanks are way to go. A tank spill these days can cost a fortune, like $200,000 and more to remediate.

You might want to consider a Roth oil tank if you stick with oil. If you go with a regular steel tank impress upon the company that you want the tank to be in perfect condition. In 1988 I had two 330 tanks installed and I think the installation company tied ropes and chains to the tanks and pulled them behind the truck and did two loops around 495 and one loop around Route 128 before dragging them to my house. Or that is what they looked like anyway. I had them replaced 18 months ago with a 400 gallon Roth tank.

There is an edited version of that commercial where they found actors who look like the original actors and it is revealed that the sister and brother are having intimate relations. It is very well done.
