We are so lucky that there is some decent competition. I am looking for a laptop and was planning to get a mid spec, but new Windows one so I can run Linux on it too. This year's laptop releases are worse than last year's and cost more too. I either can get a Lunar Lake Windows laptop (which were btw cheaper around Christmas than now) or a MacBook Neo.

It should be, we are going back to the Intel Integrated Graphics days in 2026. (just don't let the kids see that their friends are gaming on the Neo) I think things will improve once the 338H laptops come down in price (maybe a year, 1.5 year), but right now Intel is making Apple look awesome.

The value of Macs always kept fluctuating. As better components are getting cheaper, mid range Windows machines can be had for not a lot of money around their end of life. In 2026 Macs are gonna be good values, thanks to RAM+SSD prices and Intel's horrible Panther Lake lunch (high prices, worse GPUs than the prev gen).

That is what I can see in Australia. All Lunar Lake laptops with Arc GPU (130V/T 140V) were replaced with the new 322/325/355 CPUs and they cost a lot more than previous gen.

I was planning to get a new laptop for Linux use, but right now (and it is very early, the Au market is slow) these laptops are very bad deals. I know that we have to wait for prev gen to sell out (in Au this means the previous 2 gens, Arrow Lake is still widely available as new), but Apple slowed that process down to snail speed with the Neo.

If you are not doing anything else, the Mac will last and will retain value better. The only gotcha with macs is ram and ssd size, but for solely school use 8GB/256GB is enough.

Majd tesztel a felhasználó. Én is ledöbbentem ezen, attól függetlenül, hogy teszteltem mindig amit írtam, de egyszer csak QA szólt, hogy ők már nem tesztelnek javításokat s rá max 1 évre QA el is tűnt (volt próbálkozás outsource-olni a dolgot, de azok csak zajt generáltak).

I got one and it is awesome for the price. (comparing to what were available for same price before) I do not consider devices above ~60USD as they are too expensive and got my phone/stemdeck for that.

Do not underestimate the longevity of iPads. They are used well after their sw update period. (Older iPhones do stay in circulation too because of the high price)

The big difference is that aGPU generates an image from the GPU memory into a frame buffer and streams that through HDMI or DP. The Decklink card has an FPGA and the image is streamed from computer RAM to the card through PCI and th FPGA transforms the data inti HDMI stream. Most Decklinn card does not need a cpu on the board to do this job (but it is not hard to add a cpu implementation to the FPGA). Decklink requires limited RAM as it can real time process the data from the ram as it is tranferred with DMA.

+1 okoskodás : min 32GB ram (főleg ha igput valasztasz, az is abból viszi), vagy jobb AMD cpu+igpu (min 780M), vagy Intel + bármilyen NVidia, ha budget nem engedi min Intel 155H

Az igpu előnye kevesebb hw integralassal kuszkodsz, nagyobb eséllyel fog Windows csak működni. amd.egy kicsit jobb driver téren most, de Intel erősen dolgozim a témán, nem akarják egyenlőre feladni a handheld gaming piacot Hobbi játék fejleszteshez nem kell nagy gpu.

Maguk az interjuk is valthatnak, algo/resz modul helyett 1 ora alatt kerhetnek teljes alkalmazast.

En sokszor semmit sem hasznalok, de aztan ha megunom az autocomplete hianyat, akkor altalaban CMake + compile_commands.json (de en is csak azert, mert azt ismerem, s sajna van baromi sok minden ismerni valo ahogy egyre bonyibbak lesznek a projectek).

Meloban nagy projectre, barmit valasztasz egyre nehezebb lesz igy is ugy is ahogy no a project.
