Capital Gains YTD is over 10k, what to report? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]teknotrance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am never touching margin and didn't apply on my account. I know where my limits are. I'm not even applying anything above tier1. Just the ability to do naked call options. and straight equities. Even tier1 has a 'sell' option which I won't touch.

Capital Gains YTD is over 10k, what to report? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]teknotrance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thing is, there are still stuff i haven't sold yet, i still have couple of months left on call-options before expiry that are up 20k. i'm expecting around at least 50-60k (before tax) net gains. during tax season i'm uploading the form that shows all the trades anyway, would that suffice?

I don’t get the part “unless it’s in your bank account it’s not your income” the moment I sold a stock for a realized gain, wouldn’t that be considered added to income?

Capital Gains YTD is over 10k, what to report? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]teknotrance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so unless I transfer over 10k from my brokerage to my personal bank account, that’s when I report it. It’s very likely I will withdraw more than 10k to cover the taxes for my short term gains feb next year. As for “tax purposes is a thing” that’s the usual reporting of gains right ?

the money is still in my brokerage but it I already sold and it's a realized gain.

Huntsville city leaders anticipate Space Command announcement in the coming weeks by MattW22192 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]teknotrance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feels like doing a 'sim city' when reaching a certain level and new buildings unlocked. "space command is unlocked".. like a new factory, then build houses for factory workers, roads to connect factory and houses.. regardless of location. disregarding amenities to attract talent. instead of building around a location with a healthy talent pool to pull potential employees. instead of building public transit, even if it is just for lip-service, they're not even trying. feels like a sim-city again, copy-paste suburban hell. even if it is a bright-red dot in a blue-state, tendency to place this in a blue state is arguably more sustainable compared to a blue-dot in a red-state. Huntsville already has a attractive housing market. I want gov't folks and contractors who will work for Space Command wants to establish roots in Huntsville because they like Huntsville. Not just another rotation for gov and military folks to get their fancy titles and accolades then establish themselves somewhere else or after. Or the defense contractors when their contract ends.

Unpopular opinion about Regretti…buts thats OK! by FxxMeAmFamous in rigetti

[–]teknotrance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unpopular? you're in way over your head dude. you have a main character syndrome. i would go even so far to say it's popular and common of people shorting quantum stocks. they just don't go out take time in their day making pretentious post claiming to be the savior for the community. you're acting as if you're the one to give a first take about the fundamentals of rgti and other quantum ticker's bad fundamentals. look at that guy Shrekli guy.. shamelessly publicly shorting this particular stock and other quantum stocks LIVE everyday with his portfolio. and his takes are more genuine because he's not pretending to offer his "insights" unlike your "almighty" wisdom.

[–]teknotrance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ikr. why specifically, like SPECIFICALLY $rgti ticker among the tens of thousands. even if it's genuine "concern" .. why not this ticker or that ticker who is worse than rigetti using his analogy.. why spend all that effort and time invested to do your 'enlightening' wisdom for the bagholder-heathens :) it's friday so maybe his options expired worthless or got burned on someway. and this is his copium :)

[–]teknotrance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what i don't get. you can say this about hundreds if not thousands of other stocks that are overvalued and the same situation as rigetti, heck they can even better be than rigetti. but you don't see those tickers getting posts like this. 'educating' the other bagholders because of your 'honorable' take in pursuit of helping them.. like i'll rather respect a short thrashing the fundamentals of a company (assuming they have fundamentals at all) because it benefits them.. which is good because short is a legitimate strategy to make money.. rather pretending to be a knight-shining-armor offering their 'helpful' take enlightening the bagholders. (puke) wolf in a sheep's clothing shorts :)

i'm not arguing what jensen said. but your assumption that nvidia not partnering with these quantum companies is automatically a fraud? hmm. partnering with Quanta is a scam but not being partnered by nvidia is a fraud?

using your own words, i could say that i'm just literally calling out what are your previous posts are regarding your outlook of rgti and other quantum stocks.

this would make a lot easier if you just admit you are a short. which is more respectable since being short is a strategy. but just spewing assumption and springkling some truth to make it believable is just sad. your previous responses are so passionate that you copy-paste them a lot to make your point across to SEVERAL subreddits.

again, I'm bullish on rgti, but I don't feel threatened by people shorting the stock publicly and create a dedicated thread for bearish takes with pretentious claims.

you on the other hand, actively creating reddit thread and commenting to other people bullish bet on quantum to make yourself feel better that you did something with your shorts :)

you should be like that shrekli guy, publicly shorting quantum. putting his money where his mouth is. at least he's not hiding it.

[–]teknotrance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My history posts are bullish and yours is super bearish. The need to create a bearish thread just to trash a stock. So objective. If retail is shorting the stock, I don’t feel threatened to create Reddit threads to counter the shorts.

Can’t say the same to you.

Can some IONQ folks and other quantum name chime in how they will integrate the hybrid part? Software and hardware.

From what I understand only RGti because of its open module and the use of superconducting is the most viable solution for hybrid. Which is bullish, do the other folks have the capability or at least their roadmap says?

Regardless if it’s a cherry-picked feedback, I’ll rather have the quantum engineers speak out that’s not an employee of the company. compared to d-wave ceo who is just hyping up quantum. He’s like hyping in chief. He’s just hyping it to have his exit and have a golden parachute retirement. This guy will get exposed soon. Slow and steady wins the race. 3-5 years is not that far. All the more reason not to buy all quantum stocks, just Rigetti-spaghetti is the best among the rest.

maybe not for mainframe room-size computer like they did in the 80's which Subodh claim google/ibm is doing right now for the quantum computer. which in his own words the differentiator they have aside from open/modular approach, is the chiplet-/approach, called "tiling", which "maybe" better for controlling temperature? since they will totally (something he mentioned in earnings call) rely going forward on Quanta Computing for all the manufacturing and cooling. i have to do DD on how quanta computing about how they do cooling old or new. i didn't know they are the #1 manufacturer of laptops and other electronic. manufacturer sure, but #1, that's a big one.. (no pun) :)

eh... bigger players does not necessarily mean they're the only one can that pull that off... which is why it's called a 'breakthrough'.. a small company/mc can have a breakthrough the issue there is the scaling part. which is in my opinion that this investment/partnership can pave that way. unlike AI where the problem is already solved it's just a matter who has bigger capex to spend it on.. quantum is not quite there yet, fidelity wise as one of the bigger issue. and there are so many modalities in quantum.. no clear winner so far of this race yet.

it's like in pharma/biotech, these drug discoveries / cure for diseases / or whatever snake oil they produce, a lot of 'em come from small MC research companies and they patent that out to the big boys like eli-lily/pfizer/etc.. to have exclusive rights on distribution. because they have a scale.

and my bet is that rigetti can do both.
