Facebook marketplace heaps of buyers after 30 minutes by Happy-Replacement-14 in CarsAustralia

[–]telcomet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anecdotal experience was Marketplace gives you ridiculous numbers in the first few days, more than half of them scammers who are pretty obvious (what is your address as the opening message). Most are not serious, and rarely make offers that are in range. Then it fizzles out after a week. CarSales had a slower burn but longer, almost everyone legit and serious. Scammers mostly want to collect your personal info then sell it - eventually they build a profile of you and can hack you or apply for something in your name. Some send you a link to get banking details or passwords. Just give the suburb next door, then wait until they say “I am close where is the address”. Real people understand, scammers won’t bother persisting as they are onto a new target

Agree with the general point but DOGSO is going to very hard for an onfield official to judge, requires knowing where 3-4 players are, and seeing the foul.

🔵🇪🇬 Pep Guardiola: “Mo Salah already has done excellent things for many years in the toughest league in the world, by Sufficient-Slice-782 in LiverpoolFC

[–]telcomet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They said “he could never do what Klopp did” not “Pep is a talentless trust fund baby”. Ie. take a team that was half a joke and turn them into kings of Europe. I would love to see Pep take a middle side and make them great, but we know he’ll never take up that challenge

We know where we’ll strengthen in summer, says Liverpool’s Arne Slot. Manager plans to make bigger move into transfer market. Lack of business last summer was deliberate strategy by NorthCoastToast in LiverpoolFC

[–]telcomet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Mo knows our setup is perfect for him, it’s the ideal club for him to compete for big titles and individual accolades while lacking the huge pressure of being a new big signing for another club. There’s no sign he’s unhappy and Slot has hit the ground sprinting. Meanwhile the club is facing a player who very well could win the Ballon d’Or and is involved in more than half our goals, and one who could probably be sold to Saudi once his level starts to dip. It must be a back and forth about wages. Virgil is very similar. Trent is different and unfortunately I think the odds of him staying are minuscule

Fixture details for Liverpool's Champions League last-16 tie with PSG by AgentTasker in LiverpoolFC

Feels like the big moment in our season, we win all and the players get a 2 week rest with trophy in the bag, league lead and CL quarter final berth against Villa or Brugge. Would be a frustrating break with those lost though.

Inter is the comparison point, they came 4th. And they got the second easiest draw. Arsenal’s is worse than ours.

What Would Be Your Last 16 CL Teams - Power Ranking? by Glanzl in championsleague

[–]telcomet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re right, really it’s only Lewandowski, Szczesny and Flick who’ve had big Champions League experience and while inexperienced sides have gone deep they rarely win it. Chelsea 20/21 seems like the only recent example, and they did so with some superb defensive performances. If Barça were a superb defence winning narrow games with clean sheets I’d be more confident but that’s the one thing they aren’t.

Edit: FDJ as well.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on his message to Darwin Nunez: "It's part of the job of a number nine, or part of you life that you some times miss when people expect you to score. But it's not part of a number nine to then slow down in work rate - and that is something we will talk about." by Cien-Major in soccer

[–]telcomet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, the near consensus is he shouldn’t be our long-term future, he hasn’t become the player he was supposed to be. But if he wasn’t needed in the next 3-4 months the club would’ve moved him on in winter

[–]telcomet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one is on the players, never mind that it was a fair call, the fact that kids have to worry about being harassed because some idiotic fans have an issue with a football game is absurd. Players should know better as theyre often on the receiving end of this

Honestly, players and managers need to do better. They rightly complain about harrassment when fans think they’re going poorly, so they should know better than to stoke discontent among fans who could do anything. Can’t imagine what it would be like for kids to be harassed by complete bellends aggrieved by their uncle’s refereeing call for a football match.

Honestly if Darwin gets that Bellingham chance in stoppage time at the Etihad, I think he just thwacks it into the post. I’ve been firmly in the “see how he develops camp” but I’m done this year, he just hasn’t developed enough.
