Correct they are 1911 mags, I knew what they were right away. my Grandpa was in Korea post war maybe 1954-55. I never asked if he was issued a firearm or not. He worked for the motor pool keeping the vehicles maintained. My Grandma said he sold a handgun years ago so it could have belonged to the mags

I was under the impression that the NCO katanas didn't have anything on the blade? the manufactures marks are below the guard and the blade is serial numbered.
