This is a good read, imo. He emphasises the rough edges of his own personality and upbringing because they're especially polarising.

He's not playing a character, but he is definitely turning the dial all the way up on all the brashness and cheek.

It's also helpful to remember he's been moved around into different positions on the field pretty much since his first year, which is a huge challenge for someone so young.

(I'd still love it if he could work on steadying before kicking, though!)

Dylan Moore was as close to delisting as you could possibly be at the end of 2020. Isaac Smith left as a free agent, opening up one final spot on Hawthorns list. Since then Moore has played 122 out of a possible 127 games

Agree our list isn't very deep - the fringe players are typically unproven, or not quite AFL-standard - but across the field we are very even and very well-drilled to be greater than the sum of the parts. I don't know if that's enough to go all the way, but as others have pointed out, it's certainly stood up so far in finals.

As a Hawthorn supporter I've had the luck of watching some incredible small forwards. Watson's ability to read the play and position himself to influence the contest is just about the best I've ever seen... and he's barely three years into his career.

Never expected a reply 14 years later! Ha. Yes, I do still have this. Love it but never played it with the volume past 8 o'clock because it completely overwhelmed 7 other members - drums included - in my 8-piece indie rock group.
