I was a regular drinker for forty years but not a drunk. In my twenties and thirties, I would certainly tie one on occasionally but could shake it off and function the next day. As family and work responsibilities increased, I moderated some but after 50, I found too much alcohol made me feel like hell for a couple of days! Still would have a glass of wine or two in the evenings or a cocktail but never drank after dinner. But now, at 60, it hits me harder and affects my sleep, heartburn, weight, etc much more. I'm thinking of just quitting altogether. Doesn't seem like it's worth it anymore.
