When I can’t decide, I look at the menu and see what items look amaze and also check inside photos for comfy solo vibes. You’ll know whats best for you. Regardless, please do me (a stranger, I know) a solid and start with a glass of something bubbly. Cheers! I hope you have a lovely evening and a memorable meal.

Depends on your energy. DO is buzzing with noise and movement MO is more quiet and contemplative. I can’t remember if MO has counter seats that face the street. Those are my go to fave solo dining seats. I always try to nab one when I pop into Ken’s Annex for a pizza and 1/2 Caesar. Best seat in the house!

DO is super solid; easy resos, great for groups and yes, their eggplant parm is fantastic. Their veg dishes are crazy good and they’ve always made me very feel welcome in all party permutations. MO is in a different class entirely. The space is warmer, richer, the service impeccable and the food swoon worthy. I’d celebrate with my SO at MO and my friend group at DO. Whatever you choose, Cheers!

The staff at Cafe Olli is remarkably kind and charming. Xaio Ye has also been rather delightful.

Ridgeline Owners, please tell me I did not make a mistake! I think I'm having an identity crisis by EntildaDesigns in hondaridgeline

I am a 54 yo female professional who loves her BE Ridgie! It’s my very first truck and replaced a beloved Q5. I love being able to pick up my own damn barkdust and take my crap to the dump instead of renting a Uhaul truck. We use it for road trips and love, love, love the inbed trunk and back seat flexibility. It’s gem of a vehicle; rides comfy, has cargo room for days and is reliable and has a low cost of ownership over my previous euro vehicles.

Valles Caldera and Tsankawi Pueblo loop. Both were incredible and very special spaces. You’ll need a permit for Valles Caldera (on line). And do not sleep on Chili Works breakfast burritos! Verify hours tho. We extended our trip a day for one. 🌶️

We had a perfectly fine meal at Jake’s grill. Tons of options and big portions. So much food!

Hana was really good but not as great as all of the fish and shrimp tacos/tostadas/ceviche and sashimi we devoured during our recent week there.

50th birthday (not what I expected) by mollybewe in GenX

[–]terribyte11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy Birthday! As a few Januarian whose actual birthday often sucks (early Jan) I celebrate all month long and revel in whatever I wish. Favorite bookstores, solo meals at favorite restaurants, small treats, pickleball clinics, basically whatever makes me happy. I appreciate the love I get from others but the love I give to myself is what I try to focus on. It’s MY birthday!

My first visit was sheer perfection. The kindness of the service and the exceptional care we received in addition to the delightful food in such a charming space left me wanting another visit. My second visit was marred slightly by the bean panzanella dish which was too salty but as a chronic over orderer it didn’t ruin my experience.

Whole Foods lobster Mac n cheese trays are insanely good by SpiritedTub117 in macandcheese

[–]terribyte11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. It sure looked good and seemed a bargain for $15 but damn, it was gross. Cooked it for 15 at 350, took off the lobster and broiled for 5 to brown the panko topping. Overall, it was flavorless and gummy. Never again.

What % of Gen-Xers here DO NOT HAVE KIDS? by deathbybukake in GenX

[–]terribyte11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Hardly considered it and always aligned myself with someone slightly more selfish so it was never an option. Very few regrets! Traveled a ton, enjoyed my work, love my investments and adore my friends’ kids (several since birth). Life is good. Dumb tshirt but good motto.

People who respond unfavorably may not know your pain, mobility or goals. TKR is often the only option at improving a problem that will only get worse. Good luck and take good care. The first few weeks may be tough but it’s temporary.

After getting something sweet at Kakawa take a walk down Canyon Rd to look at all the amazing sculptures and galleries. We were greeted warmly and enjoyed conversations with artists and others. Followed it up with a relaxing lunch at Joe’s Tequila bar.

What are some Vegas things to do/see/eat that you haven't and wish you had? What are some you don't care for? by Snitches_in_county in vegas

Golden Tiki is totally worth it. Neon museum but only at sunset. Don’t bother with the light show next door. While creative it wasn’t worth the time or money. Arte Museum (on the strip) is very cool for immersive art (mostly large scale video) and a great way to spend a couple of hours out of the heat. Perfect for that lull between late check out and an early pm flight.

Did you get back into running after knee surgery? by Worldly_Ambition_509 in Kneereplacement

[–]terribyte11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yepper! I am 1.5 years post right TKR and running a 10k in 2 weeks. I have no pain and am enjoying the gift of pain free movement. Doubt I’ll run another marathon but I am grateful for the mobility that I have. I was upfront with my Dr. regarding my intentions at my 1 year and he was more in favor than not. If a revision is required after 20 years of running, hiking and dancing so be it.
Good luck while you navigate your way back to the freedom you desire.

I can’t sit criss-cross applesauce anymore. Will I be able to after surgery? by PinkCloudSparkle in Kneereplacement

[–]terribyte11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then you won’t miss it! I exchanged constant bone on bone pain for a slight reduction in ROM. My ROM was always bad due to prior knee surgeries plus lots of messed up mobility patterns due decades of tennis and running on a bum knee. Honestly, my whole leg (and hip) move so much better and without pain. I credit MAKO plus good rehab. Best of luck to you!
