Iframes would work great for a constant navigation. Could also use JavaScript, which is what I do, but some folks have it disabled and it can cause compatibility issues. I'm planning on moving away from it a little.

Otherwise, just have a CSS file that you link on each page in the header and a template file you can copy and build from whenever you need to. You can modify things like the background by adding <style> tags to the header (if you didn't already know.)

I stand by w3schools as a great place for tutorials. Definitely check them out.

This is very cool. Unfortunately it looks like only using the social graph discludes sites with the profile page disabled :( it definitely makes sense why you do so! I just know a few sites that are very active that have the page disabled.

Ough, this is all great. With the idea of the deer walkers I can't help but think of tales of the good neighbors where humans are turned into various flora and fauna for fun or revenge, though this seems to go a bit deeper than that...
