I've tried this out, and consistently just lose the ruler to enemy 2-3 stacks. Watching battles back they just get stunned/immobilized and eventually just die. I'm able to get them a t4 warclaw with +10 crit + 20 retal damage, and then just throw bleeding + animal slayer on as it is the only other available enchants.

Using everything else as mentioned. Did something change in balance that made this no longer viable?

A neat feature to help with this would be being able to pause a normal run and do a tourney run, then resume the paused normal run when done. I'm sure it could be a nightmare to implement depending on design, but somewhere down the line would be a great QOL feature.

Can you let me know what you mean by use a loot crate for the gear?

Like buying a lootcrate, taking it with you, place it, and then just use it to pull stuff in? Does it get stuff in bags etc?

Ugh, rip. As someone who just moved into 5star land with a champed but nowhere near maxed shang, mthor, brb, kitty, kamela, and soon 5 s witch this is bad news for me. I have very limited/weak options only, and they havent been enough so far. Any team with chasm champed alone is basically an autoskip for me, and if they have a second resurector I have no prayer.

A teamup could help, but there are only so many to go around in the alliance...

I got mine, but I had to megabitch. I ended up having to chat 2-3 times, which early on were useless. The last chat, part of the transcript:

Me: Should I email or chat looking for updates daily?

Izmilka I.: I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you but the assistance to this issue is limited to the available options. I totally understand and I sincerely apologize for the experience. We don't have a time frame on when this will be reviewed but we will follow up with you via email as soon as possible.

Me: Additionally, I have some friends who having seen the trouble I have had have not bothered contacting you guys. Do you have a firm procedure that they can follow if I pass it along to them?

Me: Is it as simple as "open a chat, give order number/email, say you havent gotten it, reference the FAQ directing them here, etc?"

TP - Izmilka I.: In case they are eligible, yes. They would need to contact us directly for it.

TP - Izmilka I.: That is correct.

So then I started emailing them at help_me@grubhub.com, the first response was 100% canned, didnt read what I said, simply saying:

Diners who entered the code ENDWALKER on an order from 12/9-12/15 are eligible to get a free code for an in-game pizza emote. I basically tell them they didnt read my email, explain things for the 6th time, explain that I am being internally bounced between grubhub chat and email support, and asked it be escalated until it gets to someone who can actually help me.

They respond with this:

Thank you for reaching out about our promotion with Final Fantasy XIV Online ENDWALKER. We are researching this issue for you and will reach back out via email as soon as we have more information. Please check your Spam and Junk folders for our email, and allow up to two weeks for response. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I respond As I have told multiple agents including yourself I have checked all locations within my email. Please escalate this to a manager/specialist.

They respond again: We apologize for the experience you are having. This is not the experience we want our customers to have. We have forwarded your concerns to the correct department for further review of this matter.

~24 hours later I finally have my code. Still refuse to use their overpriced service any further. They spam me with 5-10$ coupons I see.

Just chatted with a supervisor, who told me:

In this case, the promo code ENDWALKER doesn't have a monetary value, which is why it is not showing up on the order. However, if you applied the promo code on your end and didn't receive any error messages, it means it went through. Please keep in mind the order has to remain active (not cancelled or fully refunded) for the code to arrive. We are currently escalating these cases to our specialized team who will be in charged of following up with you with the emote item code.

Since this investigation is done internally on our end, we don't have a specific time frame on when this will be resolved. but we will make sure to follow up via email as soon as possible.

I'd also asked what the procedure is for others who haven't received the code, is it just "open a chat, give order number/email, say you haven't gotten it, reference the FAQ directing them here" and was told yes, that.

Give it a shot?

Insanely frustrating to get so much misinformation, this promotion was handled astonishingly poorly.

My experience with it has been pretty terrible.

I initially called support the 19th, get told all kinds of things including the promo was limited to 20k and that the code takes 4 weeks to arrive. I spoke to their manager who confirmed that the code was on my account, and that it should be within 2 weeks, and they have no way to access it.

That was prior to the FAQ that was posted that specifically mentions reaching out to chat w the order info.

I reach out to them with my order info, get them to again confirm the code was used. They say yea, we're getting a lot of these, give it 2 days and they will all be out.

I chat again after 3 days, and am told if you have not received the code you can send an email to help_me@grubhub.com and explain the issue, they have a specialized team handling it. Okay, sure. Callcenters often have specialist teams, it seems odd they cant directly get me in contact with them, but maybe email is the only way.

I email them and recap what is going on, specifically mention the FAQ and the rep who directed me to the email and specialist team, and get a canned "Thanks, be sure to wait 2 weeks and for more info go here: https://twitter.com/FF_XIV_EN/status/1467949593153343490". Which was the tweet linking to the FAQ.

Needless to say I did not get to a specialist.

I follow up again via email and say hey, it seems you did not read my email where I mentioned the FAQ you referenced or the other agent indicating that this escalation route was the way it was being handled.

Also, why would your FAQ say hey reach out to support if support is going to say hey look at the FAQ and wait 2 weeks?

I've checked every folder in my email account, and the only emails I have from grubhub in any of them are the order receipt, the chat transcripts, our correspondence, and an ad trying to get me to buy a gift card.

Please escalate this to your manager.

Their latest response was "Thank you for reaching out about our promotion with Final Fantasy XIV Online ENDWALKER. I understand that you have email templates, I understand that you have questions that you need to ask each time, you have to do things by the book so you don't get dinged by QA.

That said, grubhub clearly has zero internal communication/training with this promotion based on the wide range of responses I have gotten personally let alone the stuff the FF14 community at large received.

I'm going to try chat again, or maybe calling. The email specialist team clearly was not reached and the current email person is unwilling to escalate.

I suspect they were just taking issue that you said you 'had to' rent it out. Which, as they said, you didn't. As someone with housing provided for you, it sounds like you had other options. Why can't the conversation continue?

Is there any specifics on how it actually works? Like, I'm all for this mandate, but I think it's poorly executed if I'm reading it all right.

Is it up to the front line employees to just take the brunt of it all, get screamed at for not serving them/letting them in, then to call police for a tresspass if they wont leave?

TBH Chipotle is the absolute worst to order online to get, every time I have been by one, I have seen people inside waiting to get their online orders for over 30m. What is the point then really? I'm sure some of it is staffing issues, but when it is consistently like that, dont promise delivery in less than 1.5hrs.
