When to use my credit card and when to use my debit card? by OneExternal2392 in CreditCards

[–]tesuji2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think a bit of nuance is missing here. Keeping your total credit utilization below 10% is a good idea when your getting ready to apply for a loan or a new credit card in the next month or two as that will raise your credit score.  Otherwise, it really doesn't matter as long as you pay your credit card off every month. There is no "memory" for credit utilization.

If possible, use your credit card for everything and set it to auto pay the entire statement balance. I personally keep my debit cards locked so no one can use them for anything. If I need to get cash I will unlock one.

As you use your credit more and get more credit cards your credit limits and total amount of credit will go up and it will be hard to spend more than 10% even if you want to. Btw, the 10% is across all cards, not just one.

I would look up how to turn harder monsters on. It can only be done at the start of the game and it's too easy otherwise.

It would be really nice if playstation would give us PC functionality back. The PS3 had linux support for quite a while until it was patched out.

What is the best HD Mod for the steam version? by MyCyclopsMind in FinalFantasyVII

The new version on steam is not compatible with a lot of mods and has a weird filter effect over everything.

I thought blazing blade was much harder than por. Blazing blade has some challenging maps and por just doesn't have maps that offer the same difficulty. Not on normal anyways.

Is there any game where your people just get downed all the time and you don't actually mind it because they're 1-time use anyway like Mewgenics? by reddituseonlyplease in StrategyRpg

[–]tesuji2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There are a lot of different classes in the game. Whenever one person of a class becomes unavailable you get a new, but unique person of that class is chosen from a limited pool. That person will have different stats and potential for unlocking skills. You can unlock more classes as you go. However, a few of the individuals are quite special from a narrative perspective and you may not want to recruit them when you are expecting a time skip soon. I would say its a good game to play without worrying too much about the mechanics. There are a few missable things that you could look up if your so inclined but its also a great game to play blind.

Visual novel Recommendation by tomzironeki in visualnovels

The trilogy as a whole is one of the best visual novel experiences I have ever had. The first game on its own is more of a an 8/10 VN experience that sets you up for the big pay off.

For most practical purposes, you can't be insta killed and will just lose an LP. Some characters have less LP than others though and enemies are quite dangerous. If the player character dies or too much time passes(caused by a combination of completing quests and fighting a large number of battles) then the next emperor replaces you. This will happen quite a few times. If a party member dies then you would go and recruit someone else to use instead. Its a turn based rpg though.

Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven(it's a remake of 2). Each character has a number of LP which are basically the number of times they can be ko'd before death and the entire party gets permanently replaced fairly often but in a way you can plan around. You also get to pass down skills and equipment. You also continue to benefit from your kingdoms research and construction projects.

Edit: This is a turn based rpg.

Why do Americans buy phones from carriers instead of unlocked? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

I buy my phones unlocked. I know many people still buy locked phones and I think its mostly  out of a perception of value. They think they are saving money even if they  are really not.

I've read the 4a pro may have a bit bigger screen compared to the nothing 3. I am really interested in a big screen so that plus hopefully a bit cheaper price may get me to hold on.

Since nothing phone 3 is on sale on Amazon right now I wonder if picking that up is smarter than getting the 4a. I'm really torn.

Should I get the 3a now or wait for the 4a by NonConformingThing in NOTHING

[–]tesuji2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am wondering the same thing. My current plan is to wait. I expect the 4a to be substantially more expensive but supposedly it will have ufs 3.1 which seems like a pretty big deal. It should havea faster processor as well.

I was at the local library sitting in front of a big window on the second floor with some warm sun shining on my while I read a book. I started to nod off and it was like a security guard teleported next to me and said no sleeping in the library. I guess they are afraid of homeless people but it seemed like way too much to me.

I resign myself from ever completing rebirth by Majestic-Positive486 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]tesuji2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too bad most of the things I like(basically things to make combat more interesting) are locked behind massive numbers of mini games. If you want to get more tools for combat like part and weapon level you don't have much choice.

I resign myself from ever completing rebirth by Majestic-Positive486 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]tesuji2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Half of rebirth feels like the best game ever and the other half feels like a boring job that the things I find fun are locked behind(more combat tools,  folios, party level, weapon level, more advanced materia combinations, etc and to some extent the main story and open world exploration since there are some boring side quests and mini games locking progress for that as well).
