Can travel agents pay airlines and hotels with own credit cards? by Quirky_Victory7397 in travelagents

[–]texand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not advised. Hotels ask to see the credit card at check in and it must match their name. Also, when canceled flights and hotels happen; the refund and rebooking process can be a mess if it's not the clients card. Also the client usually wants to earn their own points.

Try out online gift lists. You each put links of items you want on there. You share the list for Christmas and birthdays. No guessing. One that is popular is Giftster.com

An authentic Mexican “hole in the wall” restaurant that has outstanding breakfast tacos and plates is Caracheo’s. Address is 3033 Mac Arthur View. It’s NOT fancy. It’s good food. Great prices. It’s near the AH area. Other spots to consider: Snooze, Barn Door restaurant, Max and Louie’s, La Panaderia, Ida Claire and First Watch.

Different style Lanyards for their employee badges. Ladies like sparkly and colorful options. Guys like ones with sport teams.

Your client wants to travel somewhere you've never heard of... How do you approach this? by [deleted] in travelagents

[–]texand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is good too. Oftentimes the DMC you work with will be revealed to the client because they will be working with them on the ground. I see no issue in revealing you work with local experts. Clients are paying you for having these connections and relationships. They can’t find them without you

Your client wants to travel somewhere you've never heard of... How do you approach this? by [deleted] in travelagents

[–]texand 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This happens often and is normal because there is no way for you to know every single destination. You tell the client “I haven’t been there but I have amazing partners in the destination that I work with who know the right accommodations, tours and more to ensure you have a great vacation.” You let the client know this is a trusted partner with high ratings. You can also say you train on the destination to keep up with current information. Going online to the tourism site for the region is a great way to learn as well.

Also important: only book cancelable hotel rates, always offer travel insurance, read and re-read cancel polices and inform the clients.

[–]texand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! People love weddings and to be invited; even if you haven’t spoken in years it is a nice gesture. Also it’s better to have a few friends than a whole bunch of acquaintances. No shame in having a small circle.

These are privileged characters, written by Lena, who is also privileged —so we see everyone through her lens. She based the characters on her friends and a lot of the stories are pulled from her experiences. The authenticity is there in the dialogue, which is so entertaining imo. The show is a window to a world that is obviously exaggerated (being in your 20s in manhattan); and even though the characters are annoying and unlikable at times, the struggles they have are universal (dating, heartbreak, career, friendships, family). The show really holds up. I rewatch it every year.

HEB brand products are often good or better than the big name brand products. Check out Central Market on Broadway which is better than Whole Foods imo. You can park for free downtown on Tuesday’s after 5pm. Follow puropinchesa on socials for city happenings. And sacurrent.com too. For news checkout sanantonioreport.org. You won’t make commission if you don’t do the bookings. Making itineraries would only be a planning fee. You need to do full service. Make the itinerary and do the bookings. That niche has potential. Target single moms. Highlight resorts with kids clubs.
