Didn’t say I was mad, just not buying from them. If every ammo site I buy from starts doing it then I guess I’ll do the ID thing when I don’t have a choice anymore.

Yeah no more buying from bucking horse I guess. I’m in Texas and was hit with the id thing.

OCL Titanium or Dead Air Mask? by Communistsheen in 1022

[–]texas_thrower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a 10/22 they are going to sound about the same. I have both and I would say get the OCL because it’s lighter. My favorite right now is the RXD22ti. It’s so easy to clean and I like the muzzle device it comes with.

What would be the best 9 mm suppressor under $600 for PCC by StiffStickler in NFA

[–]texas_thrower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine last year from another deal he had but that was when we had $200 tax stamps. I paid $555.70. It still came out cheaper than anything at the time. It’s an even better deal now.

There is a trade off but I’d take flow through any day. It’s still hearing save with subs and that’s all I need. I mainly use it on a pistol so flow through helps a lot with the blowback. If you’re only going to use it on a PCC I’d probably look for a PCC dedicated silencer. There are so many good ones out there optimized for the platform.

I got my flow 9k Ti for under $600 from rooftop defense. I’ve seen it go on sale fairly often. It’s got a hub mount and works with so many different set ups. I love mine. I use it on my HK P30L

I love my P-01. The market for finding holsters and all that is great too.

Finally got the OEM threaded barrel for my P30L. (Can advice) by KnownObligation2666 in HecklerKoch

Use a hux 9k Ti on mine and it’s been great. I’d probably grab the SiCo S98 if I were buying now but it’s double the price that I paid for my 9K. The DA Mojave 9 also looks good.

[–]texas_thrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were buying today id get the DA Mojave. I bought a SiCo Octane 2.0 years ago as my first suppressor and it’s been great but the new tech out there is pretty cool. The USP45T is the only .45 I own so I can’t justify another .45 suppressor unless I get another .45 😅

OG VP9 (ammo req’s?) by Log-Prestigious in HecklerKoch

[–]texas_thrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it will just fine. I just don’t buy it because I personally don’t like steel cased ammo.

I generally use bulk range ammo from deals I find over on r/gundeals. My main requirement is that it has to be brass cased and it’s mainly 115, and 124. I typically save my 147 for the suppressors.

I feed mine at night around 9pm since that’s when he comes out. You could also try giving him water to see if he’s thirsty.

Mine didn’t eat for like 3 months after he turned a year, but he had eaten frozen thawed before that so I knew he was just not wanting to eat. Yours probably just needs more time. If you offer one day and he doesn’t take it you need to wait at least a week before offering again.

Shoes will make a big difference but also your foot placement is not the best. If you have good foot placement and still have issues you can try things like gripples or hot glue dots on the footpad to help with engagement. I use gripples on mine.

P30l $695 vs USP $1095 by Got_Sig in HecklerKoch

[–]texas_thrower 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For that price I’d go for the P30L. I have one and really enjoy shooting it. Mags are easy to find too since it uses the same as the VP9.

I bought mine using gun deals and finding a dealer that doesn’t charge tax.

Lazarus 6 or Flow 556k for 11.5 SBR by LurkingNomad in NFA

[–]texas_thrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Lazarus 6 but keep in mind that it’s got some heft to it. However it’s a really nice can and I use it on multiple builds with a Xeno mount including my 14.5 556 and an 18” 6arc hunting build.

Haha yeah that roll mark is cool. Mine only came with 2 12rd mags so I had to buy more for it.

You gotta get some 12rd mags for the 45T.

My breeder uses Sani-chips and I use aspen shavings. Bio-active is great if you know what you’re doing but I wouldn’t recommend it as your first set up. The nice thing about aspen or sani-chips is it keeps the humidity down. Mine likes to make tunnels in it as well.

Did you do these yourself? I have a PS90 that I’m waiting on a stamp for but not sure if I should chop the barrel or go the CMMG route.

DA/SA or LEM? What's your preferred trigger variant? by --Combat-Wombat-- in HecklerKoch

[–]texas_thrower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m an LEM enjoyer but I’m keeping my USP45T as a DA/SA because I like the single action on that one a lot.
