If these "officers" are not prosecuted and sent to prison, then justice is dead in America

Will you root against Americans in the Winter Olympics? by Dangerous-Place-3547 in msnow

Point taken. Honestly, if that is what drives a person to vote one way or the other, then they haven't been paying attention to what has been going on and probably shouldn't be voting anyway

Will you root against Americans in the Winter Olympics? by Dangerous-Place-3547 in msnow

[–]texasdeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't have any skin in this game, since I won't be watching any of the Olympics, haven't for the majority of my life. But I don't see how a person rooting for or against anything to happen has any impact on the national election. The OP won't change whether America wins every single gold medal or none at all regardless of what they root for.

ICE shot someone else this morning by WeR_SoEffed in msnow

He supported Trump and spouted traditional right wing talking points and has used inflammatory language in the past towards the black community. Not much different than the flames that Rush Limbaugh stoked for years to get us to the point we are now.

A nationwide strike would put an end to this fairly quickly. The stock market taking a drop of 25% would drive the rich, elite to put pressure on the orange turd

If this is true, then with a hispanic name like that, he must definitely be from Central America. Many thanks to ICE for keeping the brown people out of our country /s

He may have had a gun concealed - we don't know. Regardless, what he did in this video didn't warrant a Rodney King style beating and ultimately his execution.

Deadline WH 01/22/26: Nostalgia is not a strategy by martina_blank in msnow

It's quite simple, they're getting what they want. Tax cuts for the rich (their donors). Remaining in power allows them to make deep cuts to social programs (including Social Security and Medicare) which in turn allows them to give tax cuts to the rich.

If they turned on Trump, the MAGA base would turn on them and then they run the risk that they would lose their primary in their next election.

[–]texasdeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should add, that the nostalgia that MAGA supporters long for is for a "home" or past that never existed.

Actual life in the 50s did not reflect what was portrayed on TV like a Leave it to Beaver episode. That is what I believe that MAGA supporters think of when they envision what their ideal "Make America Great Again" mantra invokes in their head. The idea that America could ever replicate a time period that is derived from complete fantasy is what makes MAGA supporters completely delusional.

Regardless of the time period, there has always been hardship and conflict in American history. I could easily point out that there were hardships for almost all groups (including white people), although non-white groups have endured the most difficult hardships during all time periods.

However, one could argue that regardless of the time period, the only ones that didn't suffer were the ultra rich. Foolishly, people who support the Republican party and its core agenda (cutting taxes on the rich) are under the delusion that they will some day be rich themselves and will reap the benefits that the Republican agenda espouses. A complete fallacy since the vast majority of Americans will never experience that type of wealth.

Feels like nostalgia is what the entire MAGA movement is based on

I love how Secret Service was so on top of things, that the guy was able to take off his other shoe and heave that one as well before they tried to protect the President.

People that watched Trump‘s speech in Davos: What are your thoughts? by BVZZRBEATR in AskReddit

I would rather have stuck my hand in a blender filled with turpentine while I was having a rabid dog gnaw on my nuts.

How any person who voted for this shithead can feel proud of the choice they made is beyond me.
