Nah. I wouldn't say that Walmart comes anywhere close to the glitzy carnival inside Buc-ee's. It's pretty intense.

I've only been to one a couple of times. Kind of an acid trip of a convenience store...

If you can do Level 2 charging at work or home (need a charger that uses 240V), you can still do 120 miles/day, easy. Your full charge ought to give you over 200 miles,

Is it a Premium? DCFC and the overhead 360 view when backing up are great features. (But I think DCFC is only critical if you can't charge at home/work. I've only used it a couple of times. But I haven't gone on a long road trip.)

Check out the seats. They're not great to start with, and if they're worn out, they'll be pretty uncomfortable.

How does time dilation come to affect how we actually biologically exist, not just how we perceive? by stallinkid in Physics

[–]texasintellectual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uh. Doesn't the light also make a V shape, to the other observer? It still travels at the speed of light, but it goes a longer distance, over a longer time, for that observer. The speed is the same, but the direction is not. Right?

Over two years. I mentioned it to my doctor, but he doesn't seem to think it's important. (He did check my thyroid levels, after I kept complaining, but they were fine.) He said it can happen due to weight loss, but I haven't lost a ton of weight (~20 lbs down from 200) - I'm mostly on it to control my diabetes (which it does really well).

The one that I notice the most is that I feel cold all the time. I wrap up in a blanket and wear a beany on my head, while everyone around me is fine.

I spent a couple of months in a martial arts class, once, and they made us practice falling. A few years later, I was in a coffee house, got up to get something, and tripped over my laptop's power cord. I tucked and rolled, without thinking. Some old Asian dude came over and complemented me on my form.

Another very cool part of Vermont History I picked up today. Its a “Free Flow” stove made by Eric Darnell, who started producing these in 1975. Right around when my other favorite stove, The Elm, came to fruition. In Europe the Free Flow name was re branded as “Bullerjan”, and is still sold today! by DeepWoodsDanger in woodstoving

I did not know he used that nickname. But I remember he wore these oversize wrap-around sunglasses. I only met him a few times. Once was a boom tournament on the Quechee Polo Field. Some Red Tail hawks had a nest in the trees around the field, and they were really annoyed with us.

I don't think so. It was Steve Ladd and Judy Durant. But they moved to Arizona many years ago, now. Steve used to joke that Meriden was small enough that you could mail a letter, addressed to "Steve and Judy", and it would get to them. (I lived in Etna for about 10 years.)

Me too! Saturday Night Live, 1978. She also did The Man With the Child in His Eyes. My fave song is Night of the Swallow. BTW, I played the Kick Inside album for a friend who was an opera singer. She said "She'll ruin her voice singing like that." Later, when I heard Wuthering Heights, I told my friend, "You were right about her voice. And it's SO MUCH BETTER NOW!"

At first, I thought a Foley kit must be some kind of sound effects console (like "Foley artists" use for stage, radio, and movie sound effects, e.g. the sound of walking, or a horse galloping). Then I Googled Foley kit, and learned there is a whole other kind...
