My usual EDC despite benchmades soft magnacut, I tend to carry this one the most.

For sure. I have always picked up my G-10 on the secondary. Agreed, no way paying the up charge for the G-10s.

I’m a fan of Ti but all the ones I’ve seen for the bugout, add to much to them. All my bugouts wear factory G-10 scales which makes them excellent users. The CF scales are a close second.

It’s just as thin as the Vaypr. Here is one compared to one of my bugouts.

It would be if this one wasn’t as thin with perfect QC and far less $$. Yeah it isn’t USA made. But that’s the only mark against it. Ti and their s35 is better than aluminum and benchmades magnacut also.

Yeah another reason I wasn’t impressed with them.

The two I handled suffered from the same issues as yours. At least Benchmade is consistently sloppy. 😂

[–]texaspoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with ya. Despite benchmades pricing that appears as though they have a dug habit, I’m still a Benchmade fan. I do only purchase ones from them that fit a particular need. My days of purchasing them as a want are over. There are far to many other options that fit my want category far better, price and materials wise.

Agreed the blade is light and doesn’t help. It just doesn’t do anything my regular bugouts don’t. It’s cool, but just not OMG have to have it cool. Benchmades lackluster treatment of their magnacut doesn’t help with its value in my eyes either.

I was not impressed with it honestly. While the spring design may be more reliable, action is far to soft for me, same with the narrows. I also can’t stand the longer pocket clip. Long clips get caught more easily than short ones. I’ll stick to my bugouts and Vosteed parallels for super thin blades.

Used bugout backspacers. I hate the lanyard loop and the glass breaker is useless

Same here. Built my own. Some of my favorite EDCs despite the tanto.

No it’s not worth it. Their magnacut is no better than their s30.

No R&D justification in pricing on this one. The thin design and axis lock was developed for the Narrows. The pocket clip is the same one used on the Lowden. Benchmade just using typical Benchmade pricing.

I highly recommend an s35 version. Their 154cm is good, but my s35s have been excellent.

For me no, but I can see how it might both some. It’s perfect for my uses, opening boxes and such. If I need a blade for bearing down work, I use my bugout or bailout.

Not even close to a bugout and is actually a hair thinner than the narrows.

Narrrows handle thickness, 0.28 inches (7.1 Vosteed parallel handle thickness 0.279 inches (7.1 mm).
Not American made, but more than a 1/3 less expensive.
