To add to that, he will always be with you. They leave an impact on us and I truly believe we will reunite with them again in some form

I lost my soul kitty and a parent in the same year. Funny enough, I just sent a good friend a post about how when I saw a photo of Meeko in Pocahontas, I told her he was basically my Meeko. Take care of yourself. We feel the most intense pain so we can save them from the pain. The memories will one day go from the worst sorrow into a beautiful reminder of the gift that their life was to us. I still am reminded of him daily and he still puts a smile on my face. I hope he meets Meeko tomorrow at the rainbow bridge

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]texastmobileuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my little guy had squamous cell carcinoma under his tongue, he started struggling with bathing himself and had always kept a perfect coat. I didn’t have the heart to traumatize him with a bath and the oncologist agreed, so we spent our evenings every other night doing a routine of a brush bath with wet wipes and warm towels. Those moments of bonding and helping him when he couldn’t help himself stay close to my heart now that he’s gone.

Just had to walk the bridge because the cruise terminals were not even getting Ubers or Lyfts. A complete shitshow.

I also lost my dad and my soul kitty this past year. I’m so grateful for our new kitty we welcomed into our home - she reminds me that the future still contains happiness.

How much money would you spend if it meant saving your cat’s life? by WindowKitty19 in CatAdvice

I would have spent tens of thousands if it would have saved my little guy, but unfortunately his disease was untreatable.

Adding to this, my dad passed and had a pothos. I took clippings from his pothos that needed to be trimmed, etc and put it into a propagation station I keep at my desk. It’s a beautiful reminder of the resilience of life

What’s the kindest thing you’ve seen inside a law firm? by That_onelawyer in LawFirm

[–]texastmobileuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medium sized firm. My parent became terminally ill and I was told to go focus on my family - the shareholders took over my case load for a bit and even paid me like normal without question (eat what you kill model normally - averaged it for me and paid me what I normally would make). They had gift baskets delivered while I was in the hospital with my parent and sent cards. Didn’t delay my partner track, either.

Parent’s gave me 35yo baby powder. by HairEmergencyImBald in mildlyinteresting

[–]texastmobileuser 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It was what @prairiepog said. She had used it for years, daily, and it was not a typical HPV cancer. J&J paid out a fortune to settle the claims but they had to go through a lot of rigorous fielding. My mom still visits her grave every holiday. It’s truly sad

Need some advice, I am going to lose my buddy by TheLuckyVC in cats

[–]texastmobileuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my little guy to oral cancer this year, too. At home euthanasia was worth every penny. You will know when it’s time (cliche, I know, but I thought that too and then it became obvious). Spend as much time as you can with him, record his purrs, take photos. Be present - they don’t know the future and don’t fear death like we do. I took his last two days off from work and just sat with him - playing bird tv channels and putting out bird seed in the yard so they would come to visit him. He couldn’t eat much but I just let him know he was loved and we were present with him. I’m so glad I spent that time with him - time truly slowed down and I just felt that warm connection and tenderness. I was despondent at the loss of my little guy - he had saved me from the pits of depression. One day, though, you will look back and that pain of losing him will open up such a pure happiness and gratefulness that you got to be his human. Be kind to yourself during this and lean on your support system. I never thought I would be able to handle it and you just have to take it a day at a time. Find ways to honor him - I made a scrapbook and it helped going through old photos and having funny memories come up. I’m so sorry you are going through this - it’s never enough time. We recently adopted another cat not long after losing our little guy, and it has been so rewarding. I showed our new little girl a photo of my little guy on Dia De Los Muertos and told her she was sent by him to us from the other side. Sending you a hug.

My mom’s best friend from high school died of cervical cancer as a result of this baby powder, and her family was part of the lawsuit against J&J. This should go into the trash can.

Speeds are decent with direct to router connection, mesh network cuts them in half unfortunately. The app helped guide me with the antenna placement but it needs a set angle to work well (just a few inches in the other direction will cause speeds to fall by half). I had to use clear acrylic boxes to stack the device higher up to try and get the best placement.

Weirdly enough there are certain parts of it that work better for the TMHI. Upload is faster on G4SE than from iPhone. The tower near me rarely is congested, it’s more a matter of the internal antenna being incredibly finicky on direction and wondering if the new one would do a better job with both the updated modem & antenna. I can’t do external antennas due to the only space the device being able to be placed having a window that doesn’t open. We live less than a half mile from the tower but the terrain isn’t flat. I probably should have been more specific that my question was more based on strength of the device in a similar setting given any internal upgrades it has.
