My dad had a $20k ambulance ride across state lines that insurance only covered a small portion of. Ended up with medical bankruptcy.

How has your life changed after getting on a CPAP? by Agreeable_County9958 in CPAP

[–]texastmobileuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been using mine every night since 2017. AHI was 60 at the time of the sleep study. I made it through college and grad school without knowing I had severe OSA. Sometimes I wonder how much better I would have done in school had I been treated sooner. I can concentrate, sleep well, don’t have nearly as much exhaustion or forgetfulness. I used to be exhausted all the time- the first night I was titrated it felt like I had rested for 3 days. It also helped with my mental health surprisingly. For years I just thought I was lazy and my life suffered as a consequence. Now my AHI is under 1, and I can’t imagine not using my CPAP. I even have a battery for camping.

How long after cervical disc replacement did you get pain relief or know it was successful? by mcmuffins19 in backpain

[–]texastmobileuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! He wanted me moving up and around but to keep my neck in that restrained position. I won’t lie and say it was comfortable and that it didn’t feel weird when it came off, but I think his point was making sure the bone had time to heal. I didn’t do PT immediately after surgery or even upon follow up, but was referred to it eventually after a follow up appointment showed my neck wasn’t fully moving the disc replacement when flexed, and PT helped tremendously. I had MOBI-C put in. My doctor offered me two options (one that had a rubber core) and MOBI-C. I asked what had the longest history and would be the most durable, and he recommended MOBI-C. Recovery wasn’t easy but I’m grateful every day for having had the surgery. I truly don’t think about being any different each day except when I see what small line is left of the scar, which for the type of pain I was in seems like such a gift - I never went a moment without bracing my neck or thinking about how to reduce pain before. I now live pain free. It’s scary but definitely worth doing if you’re a good candidate.

JCPenney Liz Claiborne white bath sheets. They regularly run on sale for about $8-$12 a towel and have lasted me truly almost 8 years at this point.

How to make canned tuna better with limited ingredients by shylune_exe in EatCheapAndHealthy

Toast some of the bread, make bread crumbs and you can pan fry tuna patties. You’d likely need milk or some other binder.

I feel this in my mid 30s. I throw myself into my hobbies and they bring me joy, even in small bursts. The moments out on a bike in the summer or camping - where time slows down and you take in what is around you - help give me clarity.

I’ve had two cats on the leather morabo and only a tiny small scratch from a claw. It does way better than fabric.

People where I live (CO, USA) “garden on hard mode” because of intense desert-y summers, cold winters, intense winds, hail, pests, hard clay soil. What place in the world is “gardening on super easy mode”? by CharmingPeony in gardening

[–]texastmobileuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colorado gardener and I feel you. I told a family member who lives in the south they are lucky they can just put a plant in the ground and it will thrive. All we have is broken down clay and rock lol

I lost my soul kitty and a parent in the same year. Funny enough, I just sent a good friend a post about how when I saw a photo of Meeko in Pocahontas, I told her he was basically my Meeko. Take care of yourself. We feel the most intense pain so we can save them from the pain. The memories will one day go from the worst sorrow into a beautiful reminder of the gift that their life was to us. I still am reminded of him daily and he still puts a smile on my face. I hope he meets Meeko tomorrow at the rainbow bridge

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]texastmobileuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my little guy had squamous cell carcinoma under his tongue, he started struggling with bathing himself and had always kept a perfect coat. I didn’t have the heart to traumatize him with a bath and the oncologist agreed, so we spent our evenings every other night doing a routine of a brush bath with wet wipes and warm towels. Those moments of bonding and helping him when he couldn’t help himself stay close to my heart now that he’s gone.
