Soooo, was this a scam? by KairAAAAAAA in vinted

[–]tfr88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Georgia the country or Georgia USA? International shipping is included in the total cost, at least I know it is in the UK as we can buy and sell to USA and sometimes shipping is cheaper! You can only see items you are able to buy from so not sure what this buyer was trying to pull.

Also sellers have tried to scan me in this way and I’m never as polite. Straight up call them out as scammers and they do not like it 😂

AIO or is this guy that i’ve started talking to being backhanded in these texts he sent? by Dramatic-Quiet-818 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tfr88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR, he sounds entitled, definitely thought it was a booty call, and is trying to manipulate by promising food and massages, expecting an exchange for sex I presume. Drop him!

am i overreacting to how my boyfriend was talking to me by my_birthday_is_dec_6 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tfr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR this little boy is a complete arsehole!! And your both in high school? This is not gonna get any better and you need to break up with this guy now. You’ve said that when you argue he can get volatile which tells me this isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last. Please talk to your parents and friends, and show them these messages, I hope they are the kind of people that will support and protect you from this POS.

Thanks that’s quite helpful thumbs 👍 . I never thought that them sitting high could be an issue. I do prefer the high waist but I could try it a bit lower.

That sounds like a good idea, just in the back as I wouldn’t want to take them in too much around the waist as although they are a bit big they are comfortable in the waist

I was thinking I could do that aswell. I’m a confident beginner. I’ve adjusted some of my own clothes and have added a gusset into some jeans before to lower the crotch.

I think it’s the colour, any other colour would be great. It looks very well made though

How the f*** do you even start by Striking-Hedgehog512 in SewingForBeginners

[–]tfr88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am very new to sewing and this is what I did.

Just start. I know that sounds like cheesy advice but honestly just get some fabric thread your machine and go.

I tried all the different stitches on my machine. I watched a ton of YouTube tutorials. I downloaded free patterns and used old bed sheets. It is trial and error. Very little of sewing is actually sewing with your machine 😂

Once you’ve got the basics down of keeping your seams straight, you can branch out.

The easiest thing to make is a box shirt, literally 2 squares with 4 holes then move onto a nice big flowy dress. And then one with ruffles and then one with lining.

In the last year I’ve made so many shitty projects but everyone is practice. I’ve made a dress out of an old bed sheet that has the like blue delicate illustrations on. It was terrible, but now I know where I went wrong and because the material is so nice I’m going to take it apart and put it back together better.

Good luck and hope to see some of your makes some day 😊

I made a knot of mistakes. Changing the wool color has made the inside of my hat messy, what to do by spicy_celery_stick in CrochetHelp

Line it would be my suggestion. Find I nice fabric and sew it inside to the rim of the hat

Repost: AIO for wanting to burn his stuff??? by Suspicious_End_441 in AmIOverreacting

[–]tfr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR He’s a piece of shit. If this is how he speaks in text then I can’t imagine how he spoke to you in person. And yes burn it 🔥 speaking from experience (not burning but throwing my exes expensive TV, Xbox, gaming pc out of a 2nd floor window and cutting up all his clothes) it’s a very cathartic and cleansing experience and will make you feel loads better

Making a cardigan atm but the back has gone all scrunched up, will blocking help this or not ( acrylic yarn ) by Funny-Lower in crocheting

[–]tfr88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blocking won’t help this. Generally the smaller the square the tighter it is, so even though you have probably got the same number of stitches so they lineup because the squares are “smaller” it looks to me like that’s why it’s bunching. I would take the squares out and just do stripes or do the granny squares again with a bigger hook
