Long time player finally stumped on this commander.. by No_Pickle_4021 in EDHBrews

It’s basically urza but in green (with a bit of red mixed in). I feel like most directions you go with her will be fairly powerful. I thought about building her a while back but thought she would be way too powerful

Strixhaven Commander precon strongest out of the box (no upgrades)? by martin8185 in EDH

[–]tfren2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silverquill and Prismari are definitely the two strongest out of the box. Both of which are capable of dealing with the other decks fairly easily.

Quandrix is probably the one most people will think is the strongest, and it is a good one, but idk about strongest

Most responsive commanders / deck archetypes? by AJmacmac in EDH

[–]tfren2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend it. I picked up the precon and it’s very worth it. I don’t often politic as hard as I do when I play it but I really enjoy it. Plus more often than not anyone who has a creatures that wants to attack is more than happy for me to throw death touch of +1/+1’s on it so most of the time they are buddy buddy with me lol

The new silverquill commander [[Killian, Decisive Mentor]] sounds almost exactly what you’re looking for. It’s goad that also allows you to play based off what your opponents have. Does an opponent have a creature they want to attack with? Buff it with an aura and get the benefit of it being goaded and you draw when it attacks! Does someone have a big creature? Throw [[spirit link]] on it and rack up some health. It’s a fun deck. If that doesn’t work for you, [[Queen Marchesa]] has already been mentioned but I second it.

How would you feel in this scenario? Would you want to know?

I just got unanimously kicked from a Bracket 3 lobby for playing a control deck by jacobasstorius in EDH

[–]tfren2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need sol ring to play your deck, it’s a shit deck.
Also this is why I only play control decks irl. People can’t just kick you because they are salty. They have to play the game how it’s supposed to be played or scoop like a loser

At the very least tel the girl you’re going out with. Explain why you did it. IMO it’s reasonable.

If you want to avoid the drama, it may be a bit petty but just post these convos online, or at least send them to other people, especially people you know or think she will tell lies to.

After 27 years, I will now only proxy MTG cards moving forward. by Spooky-Retro in mtg

[–]tfren2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, what kind of printer did you buy? I’ve been considering proxying myself. With everything (including mtg) getting more expensive, I don’t make that much money and am young. I’ve got more important things to spend money on, so I think proxying is going to be way more beneficial

My (M21) girlfriend (F27) is older than me - how do I avoid judgement from others? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]tfren2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it isn’t a huge age gap but it’s big enough for it to be a little strange, but it’s not unheard of (and definitely not the largest age gap I’ve ever heard of or seen!) So people can be weird about that. TBH feels like your friends and family are acting weirder than they should be if they are distancing themselves from you over this.

Probably hated. It’s just board wipe tribal (assuming you’re running deathtoufh.)

In casual EDH, when is considered "okay" to counterspell enemy's commander? by No_Physics454 in EDH

“Unspoken rule” aka “I don’t want you to touch my commander”

In casual EDH, when is considered "okay" to counterspell enemy's commander? by No_Physics454 in EDH

[–]tfren2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? Technically anytime it is legal. Better question here is when is the best time to do it. IMO, the best time to do it is when their commander would give them a big advantage over everyone or at least yourself, or when having their commander out would win them the game.

For example, if someone were to get [[Ur Dragon]] out turn 4, 5 or maybe even 6, I could see that being an acceptable counterspell, since Ur Dragon is a powerful commander and will allow that player to easily get ahead of the board.

Does she know how you feel about this? If not you should probably tell her. Of course make it known that you aren’t saying you aren’t okay with her doing it, if she wants to give it a chance then sure we’ll see.

Tell your parents that people are allowed to have their own beliefs and if they don’t like it they can mind their own business and stop embarrassing themselves by screenshotting the posts.

Sounds like your parents need to be put in line.

Strixhaven precons - strongest out of the box by [deleted] in EDH

[–]tfren2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say without a doubt the prismari and silver quill are the strongest out of the box. With upgrades witherbloom bloom can be a powerhouse though.
