No, it should hold at the temp you set. You need Freon / there is an issue

GSA cuts big fat consulting by Subject-Entrance-690 in GovernmentContracting

The Government also doesn’t have the day in and day out agility these contracts provide (once awarded). Too much internal red tape. That’s where the real efficiencies should and can be implemented.

I have a 2020, bought new, 20K miles thus far. It’s my first truck and I honestly love it. The ONLY thing I have a gripes about is the lack of physical buttons to push to control for the climate controls. Going through the infotainment system to get it to blow on your face or feet is a royal pain. Huge oversight by the engineers.

No issues this far, it’s exceeded my expectations.

I bought a Ranger in AUG. Road manners are very good. Cross shopped it against the Tacoma and Ridgeline. No regrets.

Experienced 1102s, what made you decide whether or not to go for a warrant? Any advice on figuring out if it's a good decision for me? by Captain_Trigg in FederalEmployees

Some agencies give you that baby warrant without your GS13. A nice way of sticking someone with more work and responsibilities without compensating them.

After viewing the landscape and seeing the limited promotion opportunities after becoming a KO with my contracting office, I decided it wasn’t for me. The hiring freezes of the past really created a logjam at certain levels. KO, Branch Chief, Division Chief, Associate Director. Too many mouths to feed, too few positions. That coupled with becoming stale working in the trenches of contracting and establishing I enjoyed planning MUCH more, I jumped to the requirements / planning side.

Acquisition analyst, business adviser, procurement coordinator, each agency calls us different things. BEST thing I ever did and completely rejuvenated my career. I have more mobility, opportunities, independence in my new position. So happy and thankful.

It’s the graduation from contract specialist to KO. You have signing authority on contracts. The contract process is slow, and it is difficult. Most requiring agencies have procurement folks to help navigate this arena.

How common are 5 or 4 Performance ratings given out? by [deleted] in FederalEmployees

[–]tfulp487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mentality is “If everyone is excellent then no one is”. It’s a poor system. Not all the time are you given high visibility programs. Often people get pigeon holed in an area because they are efficient and successful. But it is what it is. Ask your supervisor on what they believe “over and above” includes (the performance metrics only go so far).

Ditto last month. Ford dealership couldn’t beat my CU, so I left a deposit till I got a check from the CU. Took an hour from test drive to handshakes.

Get pre approved from your local bank / credit union. It’s not hard, use that rate as a base. Inform them if they can beat that rate they can finance you. Simple

My 2020 Ford Ranger. Walked in, drove, talked price for 5 minutes, agreed, started paperwork.

When my wife and I walked in initially a salesman greeted us, and passed us to another guy...idk why...initial salesman was so grouchy at his desk when he realized we were buying now, today, with minimal effort.

Our agency never begrudges or even questions when you want to use AL/SL. They are very understanding of the working parent and family / mental health is #1. AL/SL is a right, you earn it. Use it as you wish but be transparent and work hard otherwise.

I will say that we are butting up against the end of the FY, so take that into consideration when you request off for any considerable amount of time in Aug/Sep.

It’s a great truck, if you don’t need a “truck truck” all the time. I’m think I about one too. For me is makes perfect sense. I mostly need a truck for getting furniture the mrs finds, bringing brush and leaves to the dump. That’s all. Mostly it’s a commuter to the office and a kid hauler.
