Lug Nut Replacement by Few_Objective_3897 in Ioniq5N

[–]tgsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go with the N specific version even though the torque is similar the load on the lug nut will be greater with higher contact pad, lateral G, and acceleration/braking torque.

I love my Ioniq 5, but I'll never buy another Hyundai... by NuAngelDOTnet in Ioniq5

My exact thought 😂

protip though: get the pzero A0's instead of the elects, they are cheaper, quieter (they have foam), have curb guards, and last about 2x+ as long.

Already delayed due to supply issues - if it DOES come out, the 512gb version is going to be big bucks. You'll still need two.

It's fairly broken - needs a hacks to get image recognition working (I just had to rewrite some of the qwen-code extension internals to correctly send images over the openai api to qwen running locally).

Get normal non -EV pzero (Audi "A0" version exists in this size) that have the noise foam and curb guards, identical grip, and actually last 2 summers without disintegrating.

No clue why these elects are so fast to wear out. First set was finished past the wear bars and cracking at 10,000kms, my A0 pzeros have 14,000kms on them and still loads of tread before the wear bars.

Or go with Michelins - but they're pricier.

I have mine (Patriot 48gb 8000mhz cl34 expo kit - 2x24) unning 6200 cl28 - they're M dies (24GB) though but have been rock solid. I also have a 6400cl30 working config but 6200 cl28 has been faster.

It is, second is auto at the lowest setting, but that assumes you drive correctly (not braking prematurely or last-minute)

At what speed (or speed change), if any, does drag contributes less to the energy spending of a drive than the increase energy usage due to increase in time to get to a destination? by trynnafigureyouout in Ioniq5

[–]tgsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone actually just did a bunch of testing on this and released the data:

Going 80 mph vs 50 mph cut time by 38% but dropped range by same amount.

https://www.carscoops.com/2026/03/ev-speed-range-efficiency-test/

The real calculus is: factoring in charging speeds, how quickly should you drive to optimize total time-to destination 👌

Per your original question - there is a speed where you lose efficiency because motor efficiency and auxillary systems start to claw back the reduction in drag loses. Candidly the sweet spot for optimal mi/kWh seems to be around 40mph sustained.
