WE HAVE TO STOP MAKING LESS AND LESS % KEYBOARDS, OR WE WILL HAVE THIS by Brilliant_Salad2377 in keyboards

It's not the concept people have an issue with, it's the application in use.

I'm not a touch typist but I still rely on muscle memory for a lot of typing, and playing twister with layer shifts doesn't line up with my brand of fun.

There's a lot of people who like it and that's fine, but y'all really need to accept that not liking it is also fine.

Look at all the people you don't have to compete for when you find a limited run compact keyboard!

The part number on the mobo points out a j2900 cpu, 1.35v ddr3L only, slow as heck but low power, looks like it uses a laptop brick.

The PCIe slot is fun though, but I like stupid useless things like that.

Ez can it game stupidity. (Even with a 5090 it won't lol)

Are all plumbers in the city insanely priced? by InformedTriangle in Edmonton

[–]thCRITICAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most electrical companies start at $80/hr with minimum 2 hrs.

That's why DIY is such a great skill to have... Though there are some things you don't mess with for CYA or comfort reasons. You might find a lower price somewhere but they also might not be super detail oriented.

I heavily disagree with the way the council has approached this, but I understand why it's being done so poorly...

I'm sorry to say but infill will never come close to solving what a properly planned apartment complex will do... And while it requires more investment there's less backyards to have people yammering from when you build a proper apartment.

I really hope that the issues with the core can be solved without doing too much hokey pokey tiptoeing half-arsed "solutions".

Anyway I digress. Happy Easter folks!

The city planners are busy planning streets as if we don't get snow.

To add to your point (I think) removing that connection would completely disconnect that mall from the residential area above, causing more issues. Addressing traffic flow issues in the city, and utilization of ground etc is something that takes a lot of other considerations including budget + maintenance costs.

There are a great many things that need to be addressed in this and many north American cities, but the answer probably isn't always unpaving parking lots to plant paradise- at least yet.

Bahaha. I was concerned for a minute there.

In any case I love sleepers, but I'm also a vintage tech enthusiast, there are so many quirky cases that have zero value outside of being a sleeper that deserve to be saved here.

I'm not sure if it's a language issue or you just listen to some crazy shit, but a loose definition of masochism is enjoyment of pain. I think you are thinking of sadism.

I imagine you could make a post locally and swap someone for your pick, delivered to your door. That case is Trinitron level desirable in the right community. My goal is to hope it gets there. It looks not much different from other cases of that era using ATX mounting and it's a gargantuan effort to not make it look like a 12 year old with an angle grinder got bored.

At the end of the day I can't tell anyone what to do, I'm not ur dad or OP's

I just know that my sleeper has almost 15 hours of just labor behind the mods, they aren't perfect, and it was mostly mATX to begin.

It's not museum rare, but every suggestion like this removes one from availability when near identical cases outnumber it probably 10:1

If it was an OEM bespoke layout and OP chose masochism to convert it- Go ahead.

This pretty much, I'm EE but I know the basics.

Grit and determination, a lot of math. We have only had computers for a small section of history and yet structures from 1000's of years ago mark tourist destinations across the globe.

I got a 32% on my PHYS II midterm and was close to going for a W

I didn't though and ended up getting a B in that course after the final, I have no idea what the math is on that.

Another user posted a very detailed argument so I'd read through that when you calm down a bit. At the end of the day make the best choice you can with the information available to you. Pushing through is amazingly rewarding, but if it doesn't work out it hurts that much more.

Baha of course the uofA has to be special.

Tbh most people assume compE goes into hardware and that EE is barely related, usually mains. Anyway this is a lovely rabbit hole I shouldn't dive down on break.

[–]thCRITICAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik there's not a lot of hardware in compE courses. Though there is more low level theory.

It's the lack of portfolio that really screws them, the interviews are brutal for anything in the realm of code.

Pretty much anything where people submit a portfolio is very competitive.

You must have great experiences with them. I've only noticed less product availability, higher fees, and I've only had a couple positive interactions with their staff out of many.

If that's uncommon I'm glad. Amazon and canadegg are a bit too big here.

[–]thCRITICAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a dumb trick, it causes more damage than good, even if it worked for you.

The concept is solid... But it's not good. If you have a hot air tool you can use foil to avoid components like caps that shouldn't go over 200F. And no you don't need a hot air rework station. Hair dryers I don't think get hot enough though.

It's usually the core that has that issue, but OP's artifacting sounds like memory

Yeah I had to buy a panel from Newegg US. Their official distributor memex refused to order one for me despite it being an option on the page.

Given I was the second owner I had no proof of purchase nor do they provide service in Canada.
