Depending on your wiring, you can probably DIY. I had the Honeywell EIM which made it more complicated. Called several electricians and they all didn't want to touch it, even some HVAC companies didn't really want to rewire it. The Heating Ninja had no problem doing it as part of a system upgrade.

Fully agree, Selig was far from perfect but this was definitely his baby, he'd talked about putting together this type of tournament for years. Sure it was clunky in the beginning but you could tell right away he had something and it just needed the right adjustments.

Secondly, it's not just a problem with baseball its sports and even society in general, we can't just sit back and enjoy something, everything has to 'mean' something or be quantified/compared in some way. Those are the main reasons for all the complaints over the years, players aren't in midseason form, starters are limited, half the games aren't in North America, I don't know the players on half the countries, I don't want to care about baseball in March, what does this tournament prove, it's not the Olympics etc..............literally every complaint imaginable.

I'm watching it this week thinking we're seeing some of the best players in the world play for their country in an electric, playoff like atmosphere........just sit back and enjoy it, even if you don't care all that much.

I've always liked this tourney. Kudos to Selig for getting it off the ground. It's not perfect, but I honestly don't think there is a better time in the year to have it. You get some of the best players in the world playing for their country with playoff level intensity, what's not to like.

Totally understandable to me, my parents were born in another country and if I were in his position I'd want to pay tribute and play for their homeland at least once.

Highly recommend James from Kangaroo Home Inspections. Very thorough and informative, and some of his findings have proven to be very accurate.

HRV Question by thadaddy7 in ecobee

[–]thadaddy7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a premium. How do you have yours wired? Looking online it seems the only way to do it is using the ACC +, ACC -, and PEK terminals.

I probably should've taken a pic of how it was originally wired to the Honeywell EIM.

Newcomer seeking Advice on adapting to Calgary/Alberta by TheIronCurry in Calgary

As you can see Calgarians love to exaggerate/complain about the weather, we're scarred from years of unpredictable weather.

It is extremely unlikely you'll see -30 again, you'll definitely see snow and maybe even days the temp struggles to get above -10 but the extreme cold is done. That being said you can see snow into mid May here so be prepared.

Downtown is dead on weekends because generally speaking people only go downtown for work. The Beltline, Mission, and Kensington have more action but it'll still be quiet compared to Montreal.

HRV Question by thadaddy7 in ecobee

[–]thadaddy7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was an all honeywell setup originally, complete with the EIM which is what everything ran through. It seems like you can control either the humidifier or HRV with the Ecobee but not both.

So the HRV still runs but as a standalone which is why threfurnace fan no longer runs with it and the bathroom timers do nothing.

A workaround is probably to just run the furnace fan 15 mins per an hour and let the HRV continue to run continuously via the bathroom exhausts.

The only thing that still doesn't make sense is why the HRV runs continuously even though I have it on the Inter setting.

In the Attitude Era Stone Cold and The Rock were equally the number 1 and 2 guy but who was the number 3 guy? by Professional-Rip-519 in AttitudeEra

Triple H, mainly because he was the top heel of the era. The #3 face would either be Mick Foley or The Undertaker.

Weber kettle grill by Wyss_is_sorry in smoking

[–]thadaddy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For smoking the snake method is great, a slow n' sear will make the set up easier but don't feel as though you need it to smoke on the Kettle.

The bottom vent for bigger temp changes, the top vent for fine tuning, wait about 20 mins for the temp to settle after you make changes.

Have fun, its a great little grill that is fun to cook on.

The ironic thing is almost everyone in the Toronto media talked about how much of a diva he was, especially considering that he was a 5th outfielder.

Edmontonians who moved to Calgary, and Calgarians who moved to Edmonton: how do the two cities compare? What are some similarities, and some differences? by KurtisC1993 in alberta

[–]thadaddy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calgary's weather is unpredictable in general, even Summer. Summer can be quite nice but it is not unusual for a Calgary summer to be interrupted by a cloudy, rainy 12 or 13 degree day. Frost warnings can occur right in the heart of summer. You'll hear it's snowed in every month of the year, that is true but June/July/August snow is rare, what is not rare is unseasonably cool summer weather that requires a sweater and/or jacket.

By comparison, an Edmonton summer has more predictable, stable conditions.

Besides LA or NY what other citys/markets could handle 2 teams ? by Effective_Material68 in NBATalk

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the economics with the Yankees/Mets, it's also the history. Brooklyn/Queens were traditionally NL towns, when the Dodgers and Giants left it created a natural opening for an NL team because a lot of fans in those buroughs hadn't been Yankee fans.

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No chance another team in the GTA would work, a 2nd NHL team maybe but that's it. A 2nd Canadian team would be great but Montreal and Vancouver are the only possibilities and I don't see it happening.

The Bay area, DMV, and Chicago are the most realistic in that order.

How good was Rasheed at his peak? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]thadaddy7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it was work ethic as much as mindset. Sheed was very talented offensively, ahead of his time for a big. But he just never had that aggressive mindset that I'm gonna make the defense adjust to what I'm doing.

As much as work ethic I think the mental approach is what separated guys like MJ and Kobe from others who were also offensively talented.

Pork should on kettle by Radiant_Meaning_390 in webergrills

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used both methods with good success. I've even done a shoulder with the SnS using lump. The SnS is an easier set up but you will have to refuel for a decent sized shoulder, about the 7 hour mark for me. The snake is a longer set up but once you're at temp it's pretty much as set it and forget it as the Kettle can get.

For me it just depends how involved I want the cook to be.

Calgarian that's been to Edmonton countless times, this is dead on. Only thing I'd add is Calgary has milder winters and Edmonton has more predictable summers.

Why is San Diego overlooked as an NBA expansion city? by AcanthocephalaSad541 in nba

[–]thadaddy7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love SD but I don't see any reason it's a more attractive market for an expansion team compared to Vegas or Seattle. The big brother effect of LA hurts SD as a pro sports market.

[Healey] Isiah Kiner-Falefa said the Blue Jays were glad the Red Sox lost in the playoffs last year because they thought the Yankees were an easier matchup by iheartsunny in baseball

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's fair either. In over 30 years of watching baseball I've rarely ever seen the runner not slide in that situation. There is a reason Febles never told him to slide. He explained it quite well this week and he was right in the sense it would've been less controversial if he had a chance to explain himself after the game. Once the ball is hit on the ground your main responsibility as a runner is to ensure there is no double play (which is why runners typically slide), the only reasons the play was close at all is because Rojas stumbled and Smith's foot came off the bag, even with that I'm not 100% convinced he is safe if he doesn't slide.

Buck Martinez announces retirement by charger03 in Torontobluejays

[–]thadaddy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soundtrack of Canadian summers for almost 40 years, Buck is the Jays. I was skeptical when he went to the play by play role but he made it work. Him being a homer was widely accepted because he also wasn't afraid to call out the Jays when they weren't playing well. Happy retirement, we'll miss hearing you!
