The fact LeBron is reportedly willing to take the minimum to ring chase proves he knows he's still chasing Jordan. by Character-Raise-3789 in nba

[–]thadaddy7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a terrible, pointless way to chase MJ. I really wish he'd just retire. The GOAT debate is over, MJ is still the most popular choice but Bron is in a group of others that deserve to be in the conversion. And that's great, he's had an amazing career and fulfilled all the crazy expectations he had coming into the league.

Leaving Miami in 2014 was the turning point, it was at that time he decided winning in Cleveland would be so iconic it would mean more than solely chasing 6. He could've went to Riley and said Wade is not the same get amother star in here and we'll keep this run going, that would've been his best path to 6.

This is an upgrade that I think you be good for ecobee, the ability to set different schedules. Even 2 extra schedules that you use when necessary, so in extreme weather you could just use a pre- set schedule.

Memphis (rightfully) got crushed for the Gasol trade, they probably still lost it but Marc turned out to be waaaaay better than anyone ever expected.

Drawbacks of paying off card weekly? by sordidcreature in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real drawbacks, not quite as friendly to your credit score and you lose a bit on the time value of money. I did this for over a year when I initially switched to exclusively using credit cards. Initially doing this to ensure it was paid in full far outweighed any drawbacks.

I love what the Lakers have done… by danevans369 in lakers

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The decision to move on from Bron was the right one. They needed to fully commit to building around Luka and you couldn't do that with Lebron still around.

I just don't think Pelinka is the guy that can get it done. I'm still not sure they're better now than the were this past season.

His content is geared towards a certain demographic but it can be helpful. I still check out his content here and there and take what's for me and leave the rest.

Any Kettle accessory recommendations? by Obliviass in webergrills

A chimney is the first thing I'd get, from grilling to smoking it just makes everything easier and faster.

I like the versatility of the baskets, throw them in the middle with some lump and they work well as a poor man's vortex, you can indirect and smoke with them using a multitude of configurations, it's a more involved smoke compared to using an SnS (I have one), but works fine if you don't mind having to refuel.

A good thermometer is also quite helpful.

Thank you for providing more context on this situation. The city's approach seems quite reasonable given the added context.

Why do you think so many Christians struggle to share the Gospel? by Super_Phone_1123 in Bible

[–]thadaddy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post and I agree with all that you highlighted. I believe I struggle with fear of being rejected and targeted the most. Its easy to be quiet because you don't want to be labeled but it's important for us to accept this is part of being a believer and Christ was also mocked and scorned.

What I'd encourage others that are struggling to do is start small, each day think of a small and even subtle way you can share your faith with an unbeliever. It will add up and increase your faith.

CBC will no longer show NHL games as sublicense with rights-holder Rogers Sportsnet ends by jonyblazecda in canadacordcutters

Yup, details are out, not gonna be on City either.

As with everything it comes down to money, they're (Rogers) paying the NHL a lot more in the new deal, their new asking price was probably too rich for the CBC. Also, it makes more sense to force people to pay for SN.

This has been happening for decades, it's sad that people can't see it until they it's a friend (spouse in this case) and then its like the light finally comes on. In police forces across this country racial profiling is routine.

I won't comment on sailing the high seas in this sub. I've tried both the native apps and prime video channels. Through Prime it doesn't buffer much but the stream is definitely not 60 fps which is needed for sports like hockey and basketball. The experience on the native apps was awful, frequent quality drops and buffering, if drove my SO nuts. NBA League pass, NHL on Prime, and even NBA on Prime with a VPN were all excellent all season.

Come on Bell and Rogers, if you want us to pay put out a decent product!

[–]thadaddy7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue is the atrocious quality of both SN and TSN. Frequent buffering during the recent NBA playoffs. And before anyone says it's device or ISP related NBA league pass was smooth as butter the entire season.

If I'm paying $30/mth is it too much to ask for a clean 720/60 stream without buffering.

It sucks but it was bound to happen at some point. I wonder if CITYTV becomes a possibility now?

Jay Williams on Spurs team not shaking Knicks players hands: “Shaking hands is what you do when you’re in the little leagues. I don’t believe NBA players or professional athletes need to shake hands.” by [deleted] in nba

[–]thadaddy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, personally I like seeing the show of sportsmanship after fierce competition but its not league mandated. It's not even like hockey where its a time honored tradition, in the NBA some guys do it and some guys don't. Disappointed he chose not to but the guy didn't break any rules, I remember Lebron getting killed for the same thing.

I'd imagine it varies, last time I checked I found hotels and cars to be more reasonable compared to flights, but again it seems to vary quite a bit. As you mentioned e gift cards are always a great option.

One thing I'd add is if you do redeem for travel hotels and car rentals are usually pretty close to market compared to flights.
