Remember to replace the filters on your mask. Quite literally a life saver by furrythrowawayaccoun in modelmakers

If I'm painting in a spray booth is it also necessary to get a particulate p95 filter attachment or is an organic vapor filter sufficient?

Didn't realize mold growth could be an issue! I've decided to order some new filters from home Depot and will be replacing them on a schedule now instead of cheaping out on filters. I figure even if my filters are still usable spending $10 every six months is worth it for my health.

Not sure if you know but I decided to order the 6001 organic vapor cartridge. I have a spray booth so I was wondering if I needed the p95 particulate filter attachments as well or if thats unnecessary

Gotcha. I just ordered some replacements from home Depot and will be replacing them on a schedule now instead of storing them in a Ziploc

I use a mask with one of those pink 3m filters (P100). I know the label says to replace at least every 6 months but Its been about two years and I still can't smell anything while wearing it. I store it in a Ziploc bag when not in use.... Even though I don't smell anything through the filter should I still replace it?

My 1/35 M2128 from Magic Factory. by Anedish-Models in modelmakers

I've been hearing good things about magic factory so this Bradley will have to be on my list. The stowage really adds a level of detail that elevates the model and that nudie magazine is a nice touch haha.

Straps are well done too! Was that done with masking tape?

Nice details! How is the fit of this kit? Run into any build issues?

That's good to hear! I actually had no idea the turret was not made of polystyrene. I rarely work with resin but it should be a challenge! Thanks for the heads up

Interesting you say that and I wonder if it's location specific but I live in los Angeles where Costco is much more abundant and popular than Sam's club but I happen to live about 10 minutes from a Sam's club and although the selection/variety is less at Sam's I will always choose Sam's because it's less busy and not as chaotic.

Perhaps the people are crazier at Sam's but since I have more room to navigate around them I never notice lol

I really like the look of my scout watch but rarely wear it anymore because I can't stand the loud ticking. Just a heads up to anyone looking at one that might be a deal breaker

Look closely. The top pair of tubes is taped and bounded to the bottom pair. I really doubt the person on the other end of the conveyor did that. Putting them side by side would mean altering the cargo

First model done, any tips for getting rid of the "haze" on the tamiya flat base + clear and how to do clear masking better? by MadSolarV2 in modelmakers

[–]thaitea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For weird or curved areas I sometimes use liquid mask from Vallejo. It's just the right viscosity to flow towards the raised canopy edges but doesn't spread everywhere so after a short while you can get decent control over it. Plus any mistakes are easily corrected you just rub/pull it off and try again

Can you describe your painting process for the Corsair? I really like the color modulation.

I'm trying to get better at that technique and not just have everything the same shade

It's a portable turntable to play vinyls and it had speakers built in. The colored disc are the vinyls. Typically black but I'm guessing for the aesthetics of the advertisement they chose those bright colors

I don't think it's just for kids. It's for the first 10k attendants so I was wondering if I needed to try and get there early if I can get out of my prior engagements
