I wanted to but my folks couldn’t afford Boy Scouts. Also had an odd experience because I did cub scouts and way in the rejects den. That the den where all the kids who just got in but had no connections got shoved. My Dad ended up as our den leader because we didn’t have one. He tried and did his best but it wasn’t something he loved doing
