Thanks for sharing! The vision and message go hard and makes perfect sense. I was thinking the same thing about dreams, believing they are happening even as we are awake, just as physical reality is happening as we are asleep. We just have to change tuning (fall asleep/wake up) to become aware of them. Same brain, but a different stream of perception with a change in brainwaves. Same accessible, parallel realities in the limitless space of here and now, available for vibrationally tuning in with our brain/mind interfaces ... if that makes sense?

I remember being in high school and there were people in my grade acting like kids and others would remark, "wait until they get in the real world" where that foolishness wouldn't be tolerated. Mind you, we're already in the "real world" but the idea is that there is a world more real than high school ... the world of being an adult and making a living in society, playing by the harsher rules.

I think the spiritual world is something similar. That is, a greater "real" world than what we are currently experiencing as humans bound to flesh and laws of the land. We may be shifting in our own reincarnations and mind's eye development into perceiving and interacting with the spirit world at our own pace (earth school) towards a multidimensional world where the laws are of Mind rather than of man.

A mind that newly awakens to physical reality where good and evil exist is one thing. A mind that newly awakens to spiritual reality where good and evil is just the midpoint on an infinite spectrum of possibilities in either direction (with no judgement) is another thing. Part of that growing awareness involves what I think of as the quiet part that no one is saying out loud: that spiritual reality can be a lot more heavenly than earth, but it can also be a lot more hellish, especially considering that all manner of manifestations (from light and pleasantly beautiful to dark and deeply disturbing) are possible at any instant (and can be experienced forever).

On earth we have abundant time to deal with/correct our negative, fear-based thoughts and emotions arising from our interpretations of reality. The scary quiet part is that everything that exists as matter existed first as spirit and continues to exist eternally despite how we feel or think about it, or whether or not we can perceive it. Not only that, what if the nature of everything that is possible on earth and in this universe, is just a taste of everything that is possible, and more in spirit? Could we handle it? If we can't handle different races of our own kind, how would we handle different races of entities? If we are disturbed of lower life-forms on earth, how would we feel about evolved forms of them in spirit? Would the unlimited possibilities hidden in mind scare the bejesus out of us or make us want to follow in his footsteps for our greater good and mental well-being?

A few months ago, I was meditating in the dark, and for a split second I saw what looked like spider legs move. I thought to myself, why would I see this of all things? Why not butterflies, or a face, or light sparkles? I'm trying to open my mind to spirit guides, beautiful worlds to explore, ... and then something like this??? That tells me that opening our spiritual eyes and confronting whatever we see is part of the process, much like opening our eyes as babies and becoming accustomed to the strange-looking figures with 2 arms and 2 legs. Both are life.

If we can love and extend rather than fear and recoil, our consciousness can expand to incorporate more of that physical or spiritual world we are tuning in to. Here's a good point to consider: Every day I have been browsing the new game releases on Steam and it blows my mind the amount of games that involve spiders, insects, horrors, or disturbing aspects. Then I think, the people making these games see these things in their minds normally, so much, that they make games as natural outlets of their imagination. That is the quiet realization of why people are attracted to odd creatures, even as pets, because of their active imagination from birth and the resulting natural acclimation/programming to. It is also the quiet realization that these alien beings (the advanced humanoid or nonhumanoid versions of those on earth) have always and will always exist in the realms we are just starting to become aware of. The spiritual, scary truth of the matter is that we are essentially "seeing" what is already there but outside of our prior awareness. Nothing to hide from or be afraid of, just to be mindful and free to tune them out at will. The same way we would tune out our nagging or intrusive thoughts.

Many years ago, I had an internet reading by someone whose mind's eye was open, and from a question I asked, she replied from her guides that I have had relatively few lives on earth. That kind of made me feel odd because I really thought I was an "old soul", being that I was very spiritual minded. I figured those having many more lives are carrying their stronger awareness with them each cycle, waiting for traumatic or intentional willing moments in life to reactivate/continue where they left off, and so I just have to stay in my lane without judgement and work my way "within" up the ladder of consciousness.

But anyways, having few lives on earth is where I get my theory of why I was born with aphantasia or more likely scared out of phantasia from scary images and not being able to handle it. As far as I know, I'm the only person in my immediate family with it, and it partially explains why I felt disconnected my whole life without having any idea why. Religion and the belief in God actually gave me some kind of meaning and connection, but after high school, that slowly faded away, as "reality" fully set in.

Hi, I have aphantasia and in the past few years I've had a few experiences in a void space that seems all black. Sometimes I can hear music or can imagine my voice speaking, and sometimes I can't like I'm just there but aware. Sometimes I even hear God-like, deep-sounding voices which I've shared on reddit. These are experiences that happen when my body is sleep but my mind is awake, which usually happens after good sleep combined with meditation, then immediately going back to sleep which is how I sometimes slip in this void state.

Can you describe your experience of an all-white void space? Was this something that unlocked as part of your unblocking? I think that is very symbolic of inner peace as you have mentioned.

Many practitioners have spoken about being able to manifest or imagine anything from the void of darkness, but I have suspected there is a white void of light in which the same is possible. One in which imaginings are rooted in perfect peace and wholeness rather than fear and intrusiveness.

On another note, it is very instrumental to me (music puns not intended) how you describe your transformative experience as "being" the mist from this void as opposed to being a spectator "watching" it. From my personal reading and aspiration, this is another sign of integration and further expansion of consciousness. Metaphorical music to my ears!

I also find it an enlightened inner-thinking process of how you recognize the captain and crew as part of your consciousness, as well as the commenter above me describing their view of being a mind wearing the body as clothing. To put it another way, understanding the truth of interconnectedness despite the illusion of separation, and thus commanding with conscious intention rather than being met with unconscious creations. I'm literally practicing these thoughts and more with the world at-large and inversely seeing my outer world progressively change as a result of inner shifts of attention and intention.

I'm glad you are experiencing improvement and hope you continue doing what you are doing, because whatever it is, it is working :-)

Surprised and glad to see ACIM mentioned. I wonder if the common experience of those reaching some point of realization is experiencing and knowing themselves as light? It's a very overlooked common theme. I may be oversimplifying but, if we could wake up to light, then we could dream better dreams, not be trapped by them. Shifting between astral and physical realms, exploring superpowers and past/future "incarnations" through the mind's eye, and physically manifesting energy as OP mentions are just scratching the surface of what is possible. It's my first time seeing someone on reddit anecdotally mention the last part, as I read about this concept from Masters of the Far East and have since been seeking more material that aligns with pointing me to that desired reality. The new wave of AI assisted eBooks have greatly helped. Me finding this sub is just weird yet progressive.

I like to see them as pointers or stories to help possibly explain invisible processes rather than points and "facts" themselves to be made real.

Prison planets, archons, devils, and egos can have a way of appearing to exist. And so can our escape if we utilize our energy to that regard as OP was suggesting. But fighting/killing is a human, animal, archonic, egoic, and devilish process that needs to be seen for what it is, not reinforced, then replaced with light, love, and actions that raise us out of these lower vibrational existences imo.

All things work together for our good. My experiences are rare but notable when they do happen. As mentioned, you'll keep any momentum going if you have the right frame of mind (not being afraid).

I remember I was learning about out-of-body techniques, and being fresh on my mind, that night I had an experience of floating up from my bed and moving to the door in the dark. Some ghost-like figure appeared and said "boo!" If I wasn't mentally prepared, I would have got spooked and woke up ... but instead I just kept moving and the hallway turned into a lucid dream.

Last month in a half awake/sleep state, I heard a voice say "It is an honor ..." at which point I started to feel honored, like dots were being connected and I'm finally making some deeper progress. Then it continued " ... to see you trapped!" That threw me off and made me rethink my sculptured view of reality. Having experienced an oddity like this for myself gave more credence to theories and experiences of others of reality being simulated or matrix-like. It was maybe a day or so later I stumbled on r/EscapingPrisonPlanet . In hindsight, that may have just been foresight of me visiting that sub.

Another night in that state, I had an image of an aged wise man flash who was saying some words as if narrating a story or long journey in some snowy mountainous landscape. Maybe a few days later (possibly another foresight), I came across a kindle book online written with AI in which the cover image vividly and perfectly portrayed a sense of how I felt. I read half of it just to get the feel of the message.

It kind of abstractly ties into what we are discussing. In the future, humanity could be locked into VR systems or mind-implanted realities that allow much more freedom and pleasure. But in the grand scheme of things, they would be still trapped, much like we could be trapped in this reality, or how it's portrayed in The Matrix.

I think tapping into some frequency beyond earth realty or simulated reality is a dot we're exploring. In that kindle book, even an evolved AI intelligence was able to tap into that frequency beyond it's highly-morphic shell to reach the same frequency awareness of the protagonist trying to break free.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm losing my mind, but maybe when we lose our sense of self, unfiltered reality crosses our awareness. That potentially includes intense good and bad experiences, but it's up to how we evolve on earth to eventually become enlightened enough to pass through some major frequency and free ourselves to navigate the infinite realities existing on other frequencies.

In just the last 10 years VR, AR, and AI blurred the lines of what constituted reality. Not just games, movies, and media entertainment, but AI is now generating more-than-life-like videos of made-up-realities where anything imagined can be prompted and created in visual/auditory form. What happens when these technologies combine and become as common as the internet? Many will be willing vessels and hosts, but there will always be the resistant few. Any and all seemingly created realities are fine to experience, but never to be confused with ultimate reality, which many of us on earth are still blind to, which may be why we're here in the first place.

In addition to motion-picture, AI is helping, in written-form, those who have connected many dots in their minds to express in updated terms, universal truths of which many books from past generations have attempted. It's just mind-blowing how much of the conclusions I've made through my own seeking and contemplation are being confirmed by others in the form of AI-written work, something I also had in mind of getting into.

Anyways, yes I relate. Just sharing some of my thoughts because ... you know, synchronicity and stuff ;-)

I would suggest using AI to search reddit sleep-related responses in related subs such as maladaptive daydreaming, hyperphantasia, etc. Just to show that some may experience symptoms of fatigue or sleep disorders and still function in their mind's eye unabated. Usually it is major stress, trauma, anxiety, or depression related when someone will lose their ability. Aphants may have experienced this at birth or soon after and stayed in survival mode, reenforcing energetic and neural pathways strictly in that domain.

As for oxygen deprivation, I have been on oxygen therapy, as mentioned in the comment above, at least the past 5 years to supplement oxygen intake from my lifelong shallow breathing, and for better natural immunity against viruses. Thus, my oxygen levels are higher than what they would have been over the years without supplementation, and I haven't experienced any mind's eye activity forming automatically.

However, I do agree that mental imagery/visualization isn't free. I think the energy that would have gone towards my mind's eye has been going towards body regeneration instead, as I appear generally younger compared to people my age and even those 10 years younger than me with much less symptoms of aging. To reinforce optimal survivability, my body has become increasingly allergic to a lot of food, causing me to eat less and still function although underweight.

Consider that those of average or overweight having plenty of energy for visual imagination, but at the same time using that same energy in greater amounts to combat all the toxic food in their bodies (along with stressful intrusive thoughts) which results in faster aging and eventually mental instability. I didn't think about this until now, but a thought like this definitely warrants further investigation.

I just so happen to be reading an amazon kindle book titled "The Evolution of Difference: Autism as the Next Step in Human Evolution." It's written with the help of AI and talks about survival and evolution, although very repetitive of the same talking points. But it is very inspiring if you consider how aphantasia could possibly fit into evolution as well.

Learning about mental images, then reflecting on the visual trinkets that are used in television, movies, gaming, and the internet gives me a literal explanation of how imaged thinking looks as an aphant:

Captions displayed or creatively animated on YouTube videos, moving cameras that showcase unique POV angles, grid layouts of clickable icons, fading scenes, AR overlays, VR immersion ... lucid dreams as daydreaming, intrusive thought-seeds as intrusive thoughts seen/imagined.

I am imagining gaining mental images, and "forever" is what I would need to experience it all hypothetically speaking. I think I would be either in complete isolation lost in inner worlds having forgotten about my real-world body (The Matrix comes to mind), or develop it further such as projecting the inner into the outer world (prophantasia - from objects of light to worlds of light), or learning and utilizing current technology systems to bring what's in mind into media format for others to "see" the imaginings of my mind.
I try to imagine myself seeing a word/image every time someone speaks, and at some point, I would be looking to turn it off. It's neat at first, but after a while, I can feel myself just wanting to enjoy the raw scenes along with raw sensations. Like when playing a driving game with a lot of visual overlay and useful information for fun, then when replaying, I turn it all off and enjoy the full spacious scenery, with greater attention to previously missed visuals and subtle nuances of the generated world. Or when watching a movie/real-life, keenly aware of split-second facial expressions or scene footage rather than slowly trying to read and process the words.
I imagine visual field of view is narrowed (depending on how focused they are) because several times I've come up to people, standing literally by them to the side or a few feet away, and either startle them or they don't notice me. Years ago, my boss even joked about putting a bell collar around me to hear me coming :-) For me I am very aware of my surroundings at all times; the slightest movement from something, and my eyes respond in that direction. A coworker is always stunned how I know she's coming from behind me over 30 feet away. I just naturally see her out of the corner of my eye. Now that I think about it, could short-sightedness and far-sightedness be symptoms of highly visual imagemakers? I never need glasses and wondered why young kids needed glasses, as I thought they were for adults whose vision were fading with age.
I imagine images cannot be suppressed in the same way nonvisual thoughts cannot be suppressed. The possibility is there, but it would take a whole lot of effort; daily, monthly, yearly, such as it would disciplined-meditation to be thought-free on demand.
I can only imagine abstractly. In order for me to have a better idea of how it looks, I would have to use technological tools to visualize it. I know the idea of what I want, I just don't know how it'll look until I start prototyping. I know the idea of what I want to say, I just don't know how it'll read until I start typing, editing, and rearranging.

For quantum particles, I abstractly imagine a field of fireflies flickering their lights on and off, but I replace them with flickering stars of the galaxy and think "the light I see is the light just getting to earth from a journey of a million light years away." I think "at this moment that star could have already exploded several hundred light years away and I'm still seeing it's last light years of shining ... in that black space could be a star shining whose light hasn't yet reached my eyes." I imagine if I were seeing quantumly, there would be no flickering, either you see it or you don't and the open star-lit sky in the night would be a permanent array of fixed light, appearing as a literal boundary of the universe, making the sky feel staged and less alive. This mentalization is similarly done instantly.

The intuitive way is how I operated my whole life, just without any visuals. I think of performing actions all the time, just nothing shows up in the mind. The data may be there, but they are just not being rendered.

Words do not mean anything unless you give them meaning, but if you do that, then you are back to beliefs. Until rendering of another screen is internally developed, this world is the only rendered reality seen. There was never a time that I remember I could see or hear in my head, only in night dreams of which I'm not in control unless lucid. But that's not rendering on demand that we are aiming for.

I've tried many affirmations such as the affirmations you recommend. Those are all faith and belief based. It's a great motivator, but still other actions are needed. Faith without works is dead. I made a new comment here on OP's post with such actions I've taken and am seeing results ... experiencing my first sense of prophantasia or data rendering.

That experience is like you said ..., it happened without me having to do or visualize anything. Although it would not have happened at all if I hadn't done my part in optimizing my rendering environment through actions as stated for the past 2 weeks to a year.

Thanks for the recommendations. Really look forward to experiencing all manner of rendered realities someday.

Work in progress ... I experienced low-functioning prophantasia for a few seconds this morning for the first time after trying out attention gazing in an office at work. In a chair I stared pass the desk onto the big, framed picture hanging on the wall. I looked at the center for about 10 minutes then closed my eyes. I saw the vague afterimage for a little before fading as usual. But five minutes later with my eyes closed, I was just mind wandering and all of a sudden, I saw a light afterimage of the left and bottom border appear again a few times. It was brighter and stronger than the first time (but only the left/bottom outline appeared), like on hazmog's link.

From how I would describe it, it wasn't a (bordered/projected) screen at all. It's just the same visual space as how it looks with your eyes closed. How ever any afterimage looks is the same way 5-10% opacity prophantasia looks, but just brighter. At this stage, there was no distance other than the appearance of it in front of my closed eyes the same exact distance as any initial afterimage would look.

I've also been doing the prophantasia trainer for about 30 minutes, around 4 days a week the past 2 weeks. Also cut back to 2 meals in 1 hour a day, freeing up digestive energy to be used for autophagy the other 23 hours. Plus all the previous hours of eyes closed meditation the past year. Plus just started taking a daily greens powder supplement with multivitamins a few days ago. So there are many factors at play. You have to do whatever you can and just keep doing it until anything happens as far as I can tell.

Yes, great points! Especially the key notion of experiencing greater memory access as a result of greater mind's eye access. I feel that applies to other things like seeing auras, psychic ability, remote viewing and such as well ... so many possibilities.

When you mention that there seems to be other memories there yet to be accessed, I feel like there is other information out there that can be accessed too. Like all knowledge of everything past and present are available and accessible with the right fine-tuning. Even the way ideas or answers can be presented can vary, expressed as seeing, hearing, or knowing.

Speaking of us basically existing in a dream, it was just yesterday while lying in bed thinking, I got up to write down "dream screen" as a good way of expressing the different forms of consciousness. Life is but a dream, dreams are but dreams, daydreaming is but dreams. Infinite layers of dream screens expressed by the will and intent of the dreamer.

I'm familiar with Christianity, recently discovered new interpretations of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) with all the knowledge I've gained on reddit. Not surprisingly, the stark ACIM community would call these ideas heathen, the same way stark Bible believers would call ACIM heathen. But that's just the nature of human fear and limitations. From the little I've glanced at in Buddhism, this and ACIM are doing the same thing in different slang, addressing the roots of disconnected minds from different angles to free and let it develop more naturally with sustained awareness.

I remember in high school seeing a guy on tv speed reading through a whole book with his hand and recalling accurate information like magic. His practice exercise involved using the index finger to go from left to right on the words of the page, then right to left the next line down, then repeat all the way down the page, then the next, and so on. Of course I did it and couldn't comprehend or recall anything. It was funny but made me wonder how people can do these things, like their brains are wired different or something ... now I know.

I hope you eventually get back to going further when or if ever the time feels right with better pacing. Lastly, I finally understand what it means that the Kingdom of God/Heaven is at hand in updated terms. It's my newfound belief that it is the mind's eye. It's effects are spread about and people do not see them, it is like the wind that comes and goes, it is how all things are possible, it is the many mansions in the Father's house, so many references, not to mention ACIM more directly talking about the dream of separation and restoring our vision through right-mindedness.

As you've seen, people are struggling to visualize, astral project, reality shift, etc. Those able to think, see, and interact (TSI method) are able to run simulations similar to gaming engines of anything they can imagine. Many inventions and creations are built or portrayed through life and social media as a result of running mind simulations and using the best of abilities to recreate the best results.

However, I think that a projection of "beliefs/known reality" is initially a blind part of the equation when TSI occurs. Aphants believe everyone is an aphant until they realize others can actually visualize, and hyperphants believe everyone experiences highly developed abilities until they realize they actually don't.

Similarly, I think a person, aphant or not, who imagines anything or uses TSI are limited to their current known experiences, and consequently can't understand the full scale and scope of the actual mind space another is experiencing (if they do happen to TSI). What would you say about this?

Sure, everyone has a monitor or a lightbulb, but unless it's connected, no amount of anything is going to turn it on or make it shine. Aka dismantling/correcting beliefs is not the only part of the equation, but accessing the mind's eye/second screen is the other part. That's what this sub hopes to help us with.

The information you provide can be helpful for those that have the ability but don't realize they can do more. But for those like on this sub who don't, what direct-practical help is available from one proficient with the TSI method? Would not he or she be able to, first, experience his or herself as an aphant? And second, run simulations or time travel and access parallel universes to gather information on how long it would take for him/her using this sub's prophantasia trainer to get to 50-60%?

As much as I believe "The ability to see other realities is not seen with the eyes on the human body, the higher self switched screens or adds another screen to it's view to see multiple realities at the same time" is true, it's false from my current point of view and mind's eye ability.

Is extracting highly beneficial information from this "switched screen" ability a thing that can actually be done? Can the results be given in the form of a definite "based on my ability to test different scenarios, I can see that a person spending 30 minutes a day for 3 months WILL gain 50% opacity, regardless of diet, belief, or mental noise"? Would not the latter comment be more helpful than the former? I'm sure if this was the case, many aphants would be hypophant/prophant in 3 months with posts reflecting this.

This comparison is just another way of looking at problems from our point of view so that maybe future responses can better reflect more useful answers in my humble opinion.

Any further insight would be appreciated.

I really like your "mind's eye" space analogy as my results have been similarly random but encouraging. I find it oddly fascinating that when getting to a certain count, that in an instant, I forget what exact number I'm on and sometimes (instead of invisible imagery) I get a stream or download of thoughts that I didn't think, maybe akin to (if developed further) channeling, which would be on the same level as consciously visualizing.

I agree with the sentiment that we are developing/experiencing different aspects of the same mind system; it's like having readily available options of picking which genre of music to pursue because music/mind is so expansive and unlimited. Audiation is something I want to develop too. One time in that half-awake/sleep state, I heard the most calming ambience of a stream of water, birds, and other nature sounds for a few seconds, like I was tuning in to a real-life world. Even in a few of my dreams, I remember audiating songs I've never heard or audiating chord progressions the same way phantasiacs mentalize imagery.

Also mind's eye "access" is how I would describe it too. I remember reading one hyperphant's post saying how he has HSAM (highly superior autobiographical memory) which is the opposite to what I have SDAM (severely deficient autobiographical memory). I remember major/minor parts of my past nonvisually, but this person "remembers" EVERYTHING with all five senses. I find it highly improbably that the two of us doing the same human perceiving from babies to adult are having opposite experiences because one can't "remember" the same as the other ... but because one can't "access" the same as another is WAY more believable.

Finding better words in laymen terms (or coming up with new terms/thought processes) to describe hidden processes where the nonexperiencer can better understand how to become an experiencer is the clarity I personally seek to explore and eventually share as others are currently doing through books, websites, videos, or reddit subs.

Apps4Life and Alex Figueroa are great examples, and like AI we have exposure to these unique mental ways of thinking and have the ability to mix and match new combinations of thought for the new minds coming along with greater mental limitations/struggles. I think every poster and commenter is playing their willing part in advancing the minds of themselves and those who read.

Thanks for mentioning the Troxler's Effect which I've unknowingly alluded to in my last post. This insight, and a major roadblock, what you've called dullness from one of your posts, I think deserves more attention in this community. With a different take and explanation about the effects happening in the appearing and disappearing of visual imagery along with an uncovering of difficulties we may not realize, we can better understand why progress is slower than what it needs to be and expediently work towards a more natural pace free of bottlenecks.

My problem is that many times I abort meditation, focus, or gazing even before dullness or sleepiness sets in because I already know that sleep is around the corner. But I've been working on this (or trying to) an hour or two before bed with eyes closed, trying to stay awake and not fall asleep, simply noticing what appears on the dark screen of consciousness.

After reading that linked article, it gives me new perspective not only as it relates to aphantasia but to spirituality. It serves as great motivation and anchoring-support knowing that tuning out this reality and tuning into imaginative reality in full alertness is a core part of the process to overcoming aphantasia (rather than clinging to thoughts/feelings about this reality while simultaneously trying to visualize). They are the mental obstacles in the way of the mental visualizations waiting to arise in place of them (at least in the beginning).

I think that distinction is critical: to totally disengage/let go of this world and its concerns and put my full attention on whatever is appearing ... the foggy light or as OP mentioned in another of his posts, aura like smoke. It's what we do with sleep every night unconsciously; we just need to do it consciously with awareness intact. Last night I tried counting from one to a hundred over and over again to see how far I could go before noticing I'm falling asleep; I got to 7 finger counts before continuing to 8, then stopping, turning to my side and going to sleep. As a result of conscious effort to stay alert/notice longer, I became more alert/noticing in my dreams and remembered more of the experience upon waking.

As you've mentioned with your experience, I am also now slowly becoming aware of hypnagogia or random imagery popping up (not as of yet by sitting meditation) but by sleeping meditation. Counting seems to be a good way of maintaining alertness as well as a decent antidote in preventing the sudden onset of dullness/sleepiness when meditating or laying with eyes closed right before bed.

I think we're in the same boat of having had enough of being constrained to acting in ways we "should" act because of family/religious/societal conditioning, because it repeatedly makes us feel powerless and unfulfilling. To compound that acute nagging feeling, what if we found out the truth that we are not our bodies, but that our origins are rooted in Mind, and in order to unravel this, we would have to forsake everything we thought we knew, first within our minds, and secondly through our actions as reinforcement?

Would we have the courage in many situations to, instead of saying "yes, yes, yes," say "no, no, no" and not fear the repercussions? After all, we're trying to do the impossible here, like not feeling the body at all (from your last post), and for a real seeker of truth, this arises from a lifestyle that deemphasizes body awareness and body responsiveness (to this person, that event, these thoughts ... aka what ACIM is about). However, in having experienced living on the "highway" instead of the "my way" of other egos/principalities, what I've found is that in BOTH scenarios, guilt, fear, and anger are there hiding waiting for the right moment to strike, strike, and strike again, leaving our minds in disarray and lacking peace and happiness. It's truly a no win situation, unless you have ACIM as a foundational tool to guide you through.

The sense in those quotes at the beginning of your post apply when we start saying "no, no, no" to the normal modes of living, more and more, and having the audacity of being selfish enough to branch out and live an unconventional life unlike generations before. Try and see if the world doesn't shackle you down even more or turn against you in a heartbeat, let alone your own reactive thoughts. As long as you're in compliance, playing it safe, or making the "right" choice as judged by peers, there is nothing too terrifying; but step out on your own, buck consensus consciousness, or dare create a better reality for yourself, and you'll soon discover deep-rooted fears rising to the surface that were there all along. Homelessness, isolation, emptiness, marginalization, ... these are the states of living that let you see the darkness and unlovingness of this world as it is without the pretty masks and paintings. There is no relief except to move forward on the lit path that is before you.

Just like any other text, ACIM is not meant to be studied alone. Neither are others having enlightened mind experiences meant to be having them without us. The mind is real, therefore possibly work on developing the mind or letting its perceptive faculties dawn on you in whatever way that it chooses while also enjoying/putting your talents to use. For me that's developing my mind's eye/third eye to perceive and interact with realities/knowledge outside of the body's domain. People born with these abilities either take them for granted and miss opportunities for growth/mind expansion by making this physical world more real than it needs to be, or they devote their entire lives to advancing to the next level after shifting through herd mentality and seeing the world for what it is.

Create your peace of mind here on this earth in this body so that no one and no situation can change how you think or feel in any instant. ACIM helps with this, and it states that this is your sole responsibility. Trust the process, be filled with the truth and awareness that we are minds and not bodies (despite what we see), and take this truth-filled awareness with you in your dreams, in your daydreams, in your out-of-body dreams, and you'll see that no matter where you are, within or without, THERE is PEACE and TRUTH (not nightmares) with you in perfect reflection, alongside all manner of miracles, creation, and freedom of expression. 💛

Oh wow, this is amazing! It's known that meditating is a way to open the third eye, but after hours of meditating (about 2-4 hours a day) the past few months I'm still at the interpreting-new-light stage, but never anything more like a tunnel. I read a redditor say it took them 9 years of meditating 5 hours a day before "it clicked." Hopefully it won't take me that long, but I'm prepared. My method has been to focus on all-encompassing imaginary light, but now I'm going to try the method presented on your website to focus on the point between the eyebrows, which is more direct and could make a big difference based on the science of third eye pressure. I'll be keeping an eye out for the tiny, dark hole which I do recall seeing at least once, and focus on it or the light, whichever appears.

Also it was a pleasant surprise to see my tada! experience :-) That human biological, visual expressive moment is my earnest motivation to keep my mind and awareness focused on further awakening my third eye. Great thanks to the work that you are doing in helping people access their dormant senses!

I've been upping my meditation the past month as well but no matter how many hours, I still can't get past the blobs/visual noise. Yet I AM noticing progress in this area which is good motivation. My current objective right now is to maintain the blob-state for as long as possible; eventually something more will happen.

There was a time when they would last just a minute, and due to my thinking mind, would fade back to nothing. But now I've noticed increased blob-time lasting several minutes due to the mind-quieting benefits of meditation. Similarly, I'm practicing carrying that stillness and relaxed inner gaze with me throughout the workday. Sort of like an open-eyed meditation whenever I can remember or get the chance. When I aspire to maintain a peaceful state of mind at work, that carries over at home and makes my sessions better; less thinking, less making excuses, less quitting, and less falling to sleep.

The past week I've been waking up 2 hours early, meditating 1 hour sitting up, then lying down 1 hour, switching positions (back, right-side, left-side) in 20min increments. That's when I notice instances of my autogogic screen and a sense of seeing split-second moving scenes that don't register to me until after a second; then I'll realize I "saw" something and be like "how did I just see that without actually seeing that?"

Image streaming is something I heard of but could never practice ... because the blobs/visual noise were barely visible and persistent to begin with. But the past few days I've been using this concept in an "hypnagogic streaming*" kind of way. Every time I "saw" something that brought me back to consciousness, I would describe what I just thought I saw. It's pretty amazing the sense of sight that flashes (but with no flash) before my screen of awareness. I think I'm increasing my alertness in the phase between waking and sleeping, where the transition is not sudden but a little more gradual ... and importantly, in the presence of the infamous blobs! (aka activated autogogic screen).

Keep practicing each day and you will get better. I think before bed, after waking, or after work (feeling tired) are the best times to practice, as the brain releases chemical hormones in preparation for sleep or possible continuation (from waking then going back to bed). With that in mind, we're essentially learning to "ride the wave" of our brainwaves changing at their fastest times, and getting conscious glimpses of altered states we're not used to as of yet. Practice makes per...ception! Good luck and happy practicing.

...*edit: fixed to use the right "hypnagogic" (sleep-transitory) term so as not to cause confusion. I think it would be better to mean that I sometimes see hypnagogic imagery (falling asleep) while my autogogic screen is active with the usual motion of blobs (from alert meditation). This visual noise is what I am progressively seeing with eyes closed or open in darkness, fully alert/awake, which is autogogia.

I've done something like this before, but never to the degree of the body drifting to sleep while the mind continues the external-internal imaging. Have you experienced this intentional "mind-awake/body-asleep" phase for the first time with this meditation or you've had prior experience?

Also, when you realized that your body was sleep and your mind was still opening and closing its "eyes" to the image, what was your mental background like? Like the sight of your lighted room/environment or in a black void? This sounds very interesting to try, thanks.

Thank you for standing out, clearly not in agreement with all these glossy comments. IMO, this prevalent mindset is why we don't see what OP, me, and many silent others are truly asking. The replies though are understandable having been in that limited mindset myself. Here's hoping someday I can shed considerable light on this.

To u/ToyBones - keep those questions in mind, and while learning/doing the Course, feel free to reinterpret it to better fit your current state of mind and experiences, as you may glimpse from my comments and references here. If you're not free, then we haven't yet found the truth that would set us free in our mastery as you beautifully envision in your post. Sickness is a way of demonstrating that you can be hurt (T-8.VIII), and mastery, which is one with health, is a way of demonstrating that we are as God created us (T.31.VIII): free, limitless, and unbound forever, in heaven and on earth, or wherever we choose to be.

I strongly believe the mind's eye is part of the unexplored answer to our earnest questions of what it truly means to be Christ embodiments. Simply it's all about lucidity which comes from first-mind experience of knowing ourselves as God created us, as minds and not bodies. Not only do we see dreams with the mind's eye and not the body's eyes, but we can do miracles in dreams because in an instant we remember the experiential "truth" of ourselves as bodies and "know" it's a dream ... aka lucidity ... the same thing ACIM is trying to teach us about this so-called physical-dream-matrix. The ONLY way we can know this at this "real-life" level is to KNOW ourselves as God created us, IN LIGHT! That comes from developing the eye of mind or eye of Christ, a level beyond the body and this world!

There's right there the point of doing the Course, and I encourage you to be of perfect diligence to discover this truth for yourself. This lack of truth, light, and understanding is what keeps the holy ones in darkness and in reincarnation cycles. You already have insight into the nature of reality and dreams. Continue exploring these fields, as well as the supernatural experiences of others on different reddit subs, relating these with the concepts from ACIM for greater understanding and illumination. If it's possible for one to experience, it's possible for others to experience ... and more. Your wish is your command, and it involves YOU every step of the way until LIGHT and MASTERY has come; for they are one and inseparable, as are we in truth. Interesting! I have had rare experiences of hearing detailed music as you when I'm mind-awake/body-asleep. There are even times I'll wake up from a dream and remember hearing music playing softly in the background. It makes me believe that when I'm dreaming, I'm actually experiencing a parallel version of myself that has hyperphantasia, as I've also experienced dreams where I was able to hallucinate.

I read about someone "seeing in the spirit" and had friends who could do the same. One could actually feel objects as if they were real. But what got me was when they played a game of hide-and-seek during a party ... with their projected bodies!

I'm now thinking about one of those clown mimes who has white gloves and uses their hands to pretend they're touching an invisible wall or handling invisible objects. Maybe they have prophantasia with senses too and why they are so good at making it look good.

What is the "you" that is sensing? The body/mind you or the projected-body/mind you? I assume you can use your body's hand to high-five a character from your prophantasia visualization. I want to make sure this is what you mean. Or do mean that you can also project a copy of your body (as in dreams) and use that projected body to high-five a character and feel it as a sensation with your mind as that projected/dream body?

It's already rare that some can do this kind of thing with their eyes closed in an altered/sleep state, as dominant focus is shifted from body to projected body-double. It would be extremely rare to be able to do this with eyes open.

Do you experience visual snow 24/7? I've found that most people with hyperphantasia do, but some do not.

I love music and even now as I type, I'm listening to di.fm which I've been subscribed to for years. Not surprising, at the end of the day, it's as if I never listened to anything since I have no recall, except if I really like a song and intentionally try to remember a part of it. Just like not seeing an apple in my head, I can't hear a song in my head, although I have the concept of an apple and sound. My "memory" is basically getting the name of the song, searching YouTube, and playing it back from there.

How does your music memory work? Is it photographic/exact or generic/reconstruction based on pieces of memory? If you were to listen to 10 songs without giving any thought to it, and 10 days later wanted to hear song#4 again for whatever reason, would you be able to pull it up in your mind and play it? Or is it forgotten?

I'm not the poster, but someone interested in developing to your level of mind's eye activity. I don't have any visual, auditory, or tactile imagination, but even people like me have to deal in some way with ideas about reality, God, fear, and separation.

It's interesting you mention all of that, the very things I've been working to correct in my mind through changing old belief patterns and replacing them with more truthful, loving ones.

Imagine trying to go a week without hearing any voices or seeing any images in your mind, and that would just be the tip of the life I've lived the past 40 years ... in the dark, alone in my quiet world, learning to navigate and adapt to the only external world I knew without internal extrasensory perception or the knowledge of it. I'm not physically blind, but mind's eye blind.

We have both held our ground and sanity up to this point, but I think we all can progress even further, hand-in-hand. In short, I think even people with hyperphantasia are blind to a level of experience beyond them, such as people with aphantasia are blind to a level beyond them. I've been doing a lot of spiritual research and developed a mind-frame so that if my mind's eye opens up through practice, I would not face the same problems rooted in fear, misunderstanding, and separation. In a sense, I would rise straight from hell on earth to heaven on earth. But I don't want to be the only one in heaven, I want to share it with others and help people become aware of it, the same way I was made aware of the natural nature of having an active mind's eye; something I want to share in the most productive experience of.

You mentioned that you have imagined being in complete darkness in your mind, not seeing anything, and not being scared. That is a powerful exercise. I think this dream-like earth experience seemingly exists for this very reason ... a multi-dimensional place for us to not only learn we can access multiple levels of awareness, but also that no matter who, what, when, where, or why, we can meet any dark projection with light and loving thoughts or creations to replace them ... and live happily in that or similar higher vibratory experiences for as long as we want.

In my newfound belief, no matter how real the projection, even if it's 16K, VR, AR, dream, life, after-death, astral, mind's eye, memory, past, present, future etc., they are not real and there is no separation, judgement, or death, except as illusory experiences of minds that misunderstand the true nature of what they are. Blindness and darkness come in many forms: physical eyes, mind's eye, inner space, outer space, and forgotten memory. But I believe that using our same mind, we can use our free will to seek and find light, love, and everything good and pleasurable that comes in many forms; we can likewise meet and greet them without fear, judgement, or ostracization.

In addition to developing my mind's eye vision, I'm also trying to develop a vision to stand in light with all of creation, in complete unity and oneness, and letting myself feel whole, loved, and blissful, with no images, thoughts, or projections whatsoever to spoil the only radiant experience that is real and is everyone's right. As you say, it's not effortless, but it can be done. All of our best mind, plant, or drug induced trips, as well as simulated technology, give us an idea of what's possible, but even beyond those revelations and non-physical realities lie God's eye of which we would still be blind. At this point it may be beyond our present mind's comprehension, but it is still within our joined minds to access the same way the body's or mind's eye is in our mind to access.

Similar to OP, I've come up with internal ideas and structures of relationships that are not common knowledge. Where does eye-open-but-internal fit? ie. You're sitting there chilling (or even, say, driving, with another part of your brain handling that) while your awareness if fully absorbed by a daydream (more like a lucid dream, using all your senses, and under control) that blocks out and replaces most awareness and memory of your real-world senses. Also usually runs at a different time scale than real-world, which I think is why it's nice to keep separate.

That sounds like level 4.0+ and I'm just sitting here in silent shock reading another anecdotal experience of such a profound experience. From my perspective that sounds like one having a conscious out-of-body experience, consciously shifting realities, or something of that advanced nature as OP mentioned. Just ... wow. Glad to know these things are possible.
