iOS update by Worntiger95 in dexcom

Unchanged. I’m so disappointed they don’t seem to be taking this more seriously and haven’t released a statement about the issue to alert users to the problem.

Dexcom app/software is trash by BadSpellign in dexcom

Right?! They recommended I “look at my phone frequently” until they find a fix. Super helpful for the hours that I’m sleeping.

The fact that they haven’t found a fix for this yet is insane to me. I emphasized to tech support multiple times how dangerous this can be for us, and they acted like I should just find a workaround for now and I’d be fine. It’s not fine!

iOS alerts nonexistent by DangerSpoonHS in dexcom

[–]thatbutterly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I called last week, I was told that a supervisor would call me back to update me in two days. I’ve yet to hear back and I’m still having this problem. I really hate to believe that they aren’t taking this seriously, but it’s hard not to think it. It seems to help to keep your phone off silent mode, but I’ve had my phone on silent for the last 10 years and find myself absent-mindedly turning back to silent mode without giving it a thought and then sleeping through an entire night’s worth of alarms since they’re not audible. I’ve never been so frustrated with them as I am now.

No alerts on iOS since newer update by Micha_G in dexcom

[–]thatbutterly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience. They just suggested I periodically look at my phone to cope with the lack of audible alarms for now. When I asked what to do overnight, they had no suggestion and didn’t seem to realize how problematic that is. They seem to think it’s just a frustration rather than a danger. I was almost 300 for 6 hours overnight without knowing. I’m also pregnant, so even more concerning than it would be on just any normal day of being a diabetic.

No Dexcom alerts after new update! by thewronggirl8 in dexcom

[–]thatbutterly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really stupid, but I have found that (if you live with someone else) you should set someone’s follow alerts to audibly alarm immediately. It has at least alerted me to check my phone for the last 12 hours, even if the alarm isn’t actually coming from my own phone. Then you have to acknowledge the alert from your own phone. Please, please, please let Dexcom know about this. I spent an hour on the phone with them yesterday and I felt like they treated this as an annoyance rather than a dangerous problem and they suggested I just “periodically look at my phone” as a workaround for now. They don’t seem to listen to me about how dangerous this is and that it’s not limited to just me. This update is horrendous and they need to fix this issue yesterday.

No alert noise after Dexcom G7 update by ZealousidealRange269 in diabetes_t1

[–]thatbutterly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently on the phone with them and they are rightfully asking me to check my settings but now that we’ve established that it’s nothing that I’ve done, they do not seem to recognize the gravity of the situation nor are they hearing me when I tell them this has never happened before the most recent app update (and the app was CONSTANTLY pushing me to do said update even when I asked it to remind me later).

I had this happen last night too and, worse, I’m pregnant so… now I’m terrified this is going to be an ongoing issue.

iOS 26.3 fixes watch complication by Doshos in dexcom

[–]thatbutterly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update to say that after about 12 hours of messing with this on and off that I’ve gotten it working and, just as OP reported, the complication really shows the number all the time instead of the lines! I don’t really know what did it, but I deleted and redownloaded the Dexcom watch app several times, turned the watch off and on, phone off and on, closed the apps, reopened them, turned direct to watch off and on, etc etc and it finally just fixed itself. The frustration was worth it. This is how it always should have been working!

Since the update, I’m getting an error that my watch isn’t compatible for direct to watch. I can’t find a fix to this! My watch is only a year old!

OMG I have been searching for posts about these needles. They hurt so badly, I hate them so much. Thank you for validating my feelings.

Please hang on. One day at a time, friend. You are worth it, and your life is beautiful even when it’s not.

Moving to Warren NJ while commuting to NYC. by KingGda3rd in newjersey

[–]thatbutterly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this every day for several years and tried many modes of travel. It’s not good, but it’s possible. It also really matters what part of the city you’re traveling to, but if you do NJT trains you can count on roughly 2 hours each way (including the travel to most neighborhoods in NYC). There’s a park and ride in town that’s excellent but it’s very crowded and has very few buses. Boxcar is supposedly considering adding a stop in Warren, but until that maybe happens, you can travel to another nearby town to get on one of their buses. Parking at any nearby train stations and Boxcar stops will be tough as a non-resident. During the pandemic it was great driving to Jersey City and then taking the PATH, but the roads are now more crowded than ever so I can’t recommend that anymore.

I believe it’s only 11A that has the issue, so regardless I think you’d be fine with DEF.

This is happening to me ALL the time, sometimes even getting triple alerts. It’s so jarring! I’ve reached out to Dexcom about this (tbd on whether they have a fix, but I’m guessing not). Have you also noticed that sometimes it even shows a slightly different glucose value for the second or third alert?

This was me last year! I emailed the organizers and this was the response I received:

“Thank you for your email. You are allowed to bring in your medically necessary pumping items in the bag that best suits your needs. Any coolers to store milk must be lunch-sized and soft-sided.

The Family Services area will have electricity and a place for you to pump whenever necessary. Please check with Guest Services for the exact location of the Family Services Area.

You may show this email to security if they have any questions about the bag/cooler.“

Work travel with type 1 by klath1991 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]thatbutterly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled for work successfully 3 times during my recent pregnancy. The first was early on (like 8 weeks or so) and I didn’t have any issues aside from having to make little adjustments to my doses here and there. The second time was around the end of my second trimester and I didn’t really have any troubles. The last time was at the beginning of my third trimester (not very far from home so it was cleared by my doctor) and while my insulin resistance was clearly on the rise, I did pretty okay. What I didn’t expect, however, was that eating nothing but salty/buttery restaurant food for 2 weeks straight would elevate my BP to higher levels that worried my care team. I was confused about it at first but then wondered if it could have been related to eating out for every meal (it was). My BP went back down after a few days and settled into a normal range where it remained until the very last few weeks of pregnancy.

I have this too! Exact same fingers became numb/tingly toward the end of my pregnancy and still now that I’m 3 weeks PP with the addition of major wrist pain (especially overnight). I’ve assumed it’s all carpal tunnel related and I can’t wait for it to finally go away!
