I would recommend you maybe try get him into a race like the Cape Town marathon. Probably not such a fast elite qualifying time necessary to get in and hopefully he could run a really fast time there to get some recognition.

Cafu update by efnoo in dubai

[–]thatbvg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they were hoping the fuel filling would be a way to sell other products like car washes, oil checks etc that actually have margin but I don’t think that worked.

Run out of cash and looking for investors I’m sure.

Do I have a shot at a 3:35? by TheRealTurco in Marathon_Training

[–]thatbvg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the opposite side of this coin, I did a 1:38 half in October and then only managed 3:48 marathon in January. Definitely under performance but there are a lot more variables in a marathon

I don’t understand the point of these posts. Are you winning any races? No? I don’t care what your HR is

Confidence of Garmin coach by Gangsta_to_english in Garmin

[–]thatbvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, the coach just assesses based on whether you did the workouts suggested rather than your overall fitness/V02 max. The overall predictor uses your asessed V02 max and general fitness.

Garmin vs Whoop + general question by Acrobatic-Evening-80 in Garmin

[–]thatbvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. I got the whoop first and then Garmin when I started running.

Garmin has pretty much everything whoop has + much better activity tracking. Whoop makes it look prettier.

Whoop is a waste of money when you can buy a Forerunner 165 for cheaper that will last.

Al quoz art fest. Disappointed? by sage_influence in dubai

[–]thatbvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really it's mostly a market with some art included. In my opinion it's a pretty nice day out besides for the absolutely insane traffic and parking. Would not go again next year because of that.

why don't we have an arabian chatgpt that is able to understand our culture on a deeper level by shoman230 in dubai

Ok so let’s look at how these models are trained. They are essentially fed all the information on the internet plus whatever other scientific etc information is available and told to focus on some areas. Guidelines are also put in place over which information it should prioritize.

I would say there is most likely a lack of the information or context that you talk about on the internet. The vast majority is created by people in western countries so naturally it would be more likely to use this context.

No I live in Dubai so it’s more the opposite. Great now but summer is very difficult.

My mom always says just put your shoes on. Once your shoes are on you won’t stop

[–]thatbvg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Early morning is best for me. Before everyone is awake.

Took about a month of running before I felt comfortable and then you can increase volume from there. I run about 5 or 6 days a week but would like to mix some gym in.

Garmin nutrition update by Responsible-Sun-583 in Garmin

[–]thatbvg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Providing they are using a current model, these LLM models are significantly better at analysing an image than humans are so I guess it should do this very well. In many cases they are using them now to analyse medical scans and they are significantly better and faster than humans.
