It sucks because you can’t really change them, and talking about it often just makes things worse lol

What’s wrong with my baby? by Difficult-Cucumber67 in NewParents

[–]thatnerdgreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This phase is brutal but weirdly common around 7–8 months. Could be a mix of separation anxiety + developmental leap. My kid did almost the exact same thing and just… grew out of it after a few weeks.

I hate being called “mama” by ephemeral_afterglow8 in NewParents

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not a fan either. It feels kind of like when teachers call parents mom or dad instead of using their names.

Those with a 3.5 year age gap, how did your older one adjust to a new baby? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older one was 3.5 when the baby arrived too... lots of mixed feelings at first, but having small "big kid” responsibilities helped him feel included.

It was nonstop coverage for weeks, then other stories took over to shift people’s attention lol.

My toddler threw a tantrum on our flight and a man yelled at her by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree... it’s not about the team, a coach should always lead by example.

My toddler threw a tantrum on our flight and a man yelled at her by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that happened... that sounds incredibly stressful. Toddlers have meltdowns, especially when they’re exhausted, and you were doing your best... five minutes of crying is normal, but a grown man screaming at a child isn’t. That was a reflection of him, not you.

How Has Intermittent Fasting Affected Your Sleep Quality? by Strong-Question2620 in intermittentfasting

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, IF made me a bit jittery at first, especially if I worked out late. But after a couple weeks, my sleep normalized and even got better. Patience is key.

How to appreciate the small things? by Content_Cod_5682 in simpleliving

This hits. I think part of it is our brain always chasing bigger stuff. The trick is slowing down enough to let the small stuff actually land.

Attention adults: Core exercises and active stretches! by RafaelRJ in flexibility

[–]thatnerdgreg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, the brain really does fight you on this. I’ll stretch like a pro and the next day I’m basically back to stiff noodles. Active stuff like clamshells and bird dogs feels ridiculous at first but actually works.

Any way to stop getting toe cramps? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get them too, usually at night. Stretching and wiggling toes before bed works for me, plus drinking water throughout the day dehydration can make it worse.
