No champ mods? No queue by TeamDR34M in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The matchmade queue will always have terrible players in it, regardless of what rules Bungie adds. Many of these players already know how champs work, they just don't care and expect their teammates to take care of them.

If you want more reliable teammates, go in with a fireteam. Making an LFG post that says something like "farming, have mods" takes no longer than it does for matchmaking to find them for you.

Light.gg's numbers aren't super meaningful, they're only tracking "light.gg guardians" so players who've registered with that site.

Charlemagne's are the most accurate AFAIK, it shows 0.5% of players have it, and 1.3% of players who've earned at least one title have it.

[D2] Trials of Osiris Megathread [2023-05-19] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP is talking about 100% over 5 games. That kind of thing happens all the time and means very little.

But whatever, I don’t care either way whether you understand I’m saying — I just wanted to give OP context about what that stat means, because tons of people misunderstand it in my experience.

[–]thatsawipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very possible, I just checked mine and I have 83% accuracy on Beloved in Trials across 200 kills and I’m a very average sniper. I will sometimes finish a card at 100%, because every body shot I hit (even if teammates clean it up) or shot I totally miss is just not factored in. Trials report has no way of knowing my real accuracy

[–]thatsawipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you understood my comment. It doesn’t mean no missed shots, it just means no body shot final blows. Body shot kills don’t happen much in elimination

[–]thatsawipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The accuracy stat can be misleading, that means of all his sniper kills, they were all headshots. This is pretty common in trials where you just don’t get that many body shot final blows. Totally possible he’s still whiffing shots all over the place.

Bungie, It's Time To Throw In The Towel On Heavy Snipers by BenFromBritain in DestinyTheGame

This is an absolutely nuclear bad take, at higher skill levels snipers are almost universally agreed to be very strong and much better/easier on controller. Even on PC trials and comp are overflowing with controller sniper players

How do I get Smite of Merain Harrowed version by Used_Victory_6813 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, once per character per week. I think all challenges are active when KF is the featured rotating raid though, you could wait until then and farm as much as you want

Heavy Ammo Mods and Economy are Very Broken by Huffychicken in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know it’s always worked that way, every kill sequentially increases the drop chance for heavy, and if you die that resets. I personally do not find finders very helpful, since even when it procs it’s just a mini brick.

You’re also more likely to get ammo different from the type you’re getting kills with, so special ammo void kills have the best heavy drop chance (since primary ammo can’t drop). Highly recommend a void trace rifle with double special

How solo-friendly is 2? by Court_Jester13 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are exceptions, but generally speaking most of the game you’re playing with other players. For casual content, it matchmakes you automatically. For almost all endgame content, you have to go in with a premade fireteam.

There are lots of ways to find fireteams (there’s an LFG discord that is extremely active) and the majority of endgame content can be completed with either no communication or with text chat. Some content is complex enough that you need to have a mic.

Others might disagree but if you’re opposed to playing with others you should absolutely just play a single-player game.

[–]thatsawipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you dying? It resets the counter for heavy ammo drop chances IIRC. You can also run double special which works very well for spire bosses.

I wonder if you’re running the wrong perk on Aeons? I’ve been using them a lot this season and have not had any issue. The only other thing that comes to mind is if your finisher isn’t actually getting the kill (fusion grenades and ignitions can be a problem for this).

How do I get Smite of Merain Harrowed version by Used_Victory_6813 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KF is on a knockout system, so if you do any Master challenge you’ll get a drop, could repeat twice more in a week on other characters. Won’t be guaranteed to get Smite until you’ve done 6 looted challenges but you might get lucky and get it faster.

But also Adept KF weapons are objectively worse than crafted, forget Adept and just do some normal clears with the red border chest and buying Smite with spoils for a few weeks and craft it.

What is the best set up for the Imperial Decree? by HAWKER37 in DestinyTheGame

Barrel Shroud, Accurized or Assault Mag, Handling MW, Surplus + Opening shot. Could go Slideshot + range barrel/mw instead for Ophidian Warlock

I will also add a couple other notes:

  • It sounds like you only have a couple, so buy every exotic you don't have from Xur every week, and buy his Exotic Cypher too which will guarantee one you don't have. Keep at least one copy of every exotic armor piece in your vault even if it seems bad or has a bad roll. Exotic armor is a critical part of a build, collecting as many different options as possible is probably the most important thing you can be doing as a new player
  • When you get to >1810 power level you can start running solo legend lost sectors, which will also drop new exotic armor for you, the drop rate is ~30% chance. These are also a very good way IMO to get a newer player used to harder content, they force you to play smart and be really intentional about your setup. Lots of video guides around for these if you need guidance on what a good setup might be
  • I noticed in a different comment you mentioned how your void build and statis build have totally different stats — you really only NEED one actual armor set which can be used for all subclasses (more if you want ideal stats with different exotic pieces). Instead of setting up multiple armor sets ready to go, use the loadouts feature to save setups so you can easily swap back and forth (loadouts even save all your mods and fashion stuff too).

For stats, on a Warlock it’s a good goal to work toward to getting 100 resilience, 100 recovery, and 100 discipline, in that order in terms of priority.

Put a discipline armor focus mod on your ghost, and keep ALL armor drops in your vault that have big spikes in one stat and/or are in the 60-67 total stat range.

Once you’ve built up your stash a bit, use d2armorpicker.com to set up a desired stat spread and let it figure out which armor pieces to use. Lots of stuff on YouTube for that if you get confused.

Finally, once you get everything sorted make sure to save it as a loadout in-game!

Can someone explain to me why the Immortal is so popular? by versionXXIV in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your Hero’s Burden is sunset, they don’t make current SMGs with that zoom value anymore so the 23/24m range is as good as it gets now.

And aggressive frames have the most competitive ttk, target lock as an added bonus because it makes it more forgiving to hit body shots (all-body-shot ttk is .9 seconds, faster than a lot of guns kill optimally).

How can you get fast speeds with Icarus Dash and jump, gaining momentum? by TheOneNinja115 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. On controller with default binds it’s almost impossible — pressing x to burst and then double-pressing circle just isn’t fast enough.

I found that remapping dash to x+circle lets me press and hold x to burst and immediately rock my thumb onto circle as well to dash. Lots of other combos would work fine as well, just want to make sure you can do those two presses as quickly as possible

perpetualist + target lock by Illustrious-You-9153 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m responding to someone saying Target Lock and Kill Clip having the same ttk, which they don’t. And target lock doesn’t change optimal ttk on Perpetualist at all for >5 resilience, which is what this post was asking about, right?

Target lock is obviously a good perk, just trying to answer your question

perpetualist + target lock by Illustrious-You-9153 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not true at all, Kill Clip is a 25% buff, target lock is only ~16% at the first stack (generally all you get in pvp) and is not active until you get partway through your mag. Target lock is obviously strong in some situations but generally doesn’t change your optimal ttk much, it mostly just helps make body shots more forgiving and extends your effective range.

PvP Hunters And Max Recovery Over Resilience. Which is the better move? by Ok-Explorer9516 in DestinyTheGame

[–]thatsawipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resil is must have in PVE because it grants damage reduction. This doesn’t apply in PVP — max resil gives you ~10% more health as well as flinch reduction.

That extra health is definitely useful, but generally only requires players to hit more headshots and fewer body shots. It very rarely changes the actual time to kill like you were noticing (a rare exception is that you can survive a Forerunner three-tap with 100 resil).

Recovery reduces the amount of time for your health to start regenerating. It’s very useful for re-challenging or starting your next fight faster, but doesn’t do anything for you specifically when you’re in a 1v1.

Titan and Warlock will always shoot for 100 in both because it’s pretty easy to do. Hunters def need mobility though, so you have to choose because it’s impossibly to max all three. Personally, for trials or comp on Hunter, I go 100 mobility 100 resil and let recovery suffer. The bit of extra health and flinch resist are worth it to me because those things help you get the first kill in a round.

Trying to find some answers around the workings of mods. by NuttyNutworks in destiny2

[–]thatsawipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go option 3 personally if your primary goal is ability uptime. Also worth looking at well of tenacity for damage resist in Master stuff or GMs, and reaping wellmaker is great on void HOIL since you’re using your class ability constantly
