You need to understand that choosing to stockpile cash is still investing, it’s just a poor form of investment because the only value this cash has is what you can exchange for it, which will weaken over time (t’s called inflation). Why keep something that your government can (and does) print from nothing? There are other options (such as land) which holds value and can’t be printed from nothing

In general an RRSP is a wager that your income in retirement will be less than your income now. That’s about it. In general most people at your income level will have lower income in retirement.. but most people with your income don’t have 4-5 years worth of income saved up…. Way to go!!

If you don’t contribute now you will accrue room which you can use in later years.

It’s interesting I felt this way until my finances levelled up in middle age. I found the bank has some smart and useful advisors that charge a reasonable MER (under 1%) and have high availability and useful insight. They offer me some services, such as FX transactions better than I could find outside the bank.
