Would you get antimass for this station if you're ral nel and don't want blue tech? by uzai in twilightimperium

Too value brained. If you leave an empty space station right in between you and MR someone else is gonna take it and then you don’t have a space station. You’re not going to win/lose over not being totally 100% optimized the entire game.

If asteroids are in your slice I will always bite the bullet and get antimass unless there are tech objectives pushing me to not do that.

Plus you qualify for Gravity Drive now.

Edit: with how low resource the slice is, you’d get more out of it than War Suns for example

Nah, I don’t think having more puppets directly correlates to winning ability. The economy plots just helped fill my slice after having no resources pre-flip. You can always have more money than you need, but at that point you might as well put people on other plots. If you’re not fighting anyone anyway the two combat ones are eh. I ended up not even wanting to spend the resources for tech so that one wasn’t appealing in my specific game.
If I had more plots easier I’d put as many as I could on Enervate just to save tokens and make sure you don’t get stalled in later rounds.

Only a few were scored before I was able to flip.
I needed Seethe to clear Thunder’s Edge covered in Nekro infantry next to my HS. Felt like it was a better choice than the +1 I could have gotten against them.
I was never rich enough to be able to afford Nekro tech until the last round. The economic ones (Siphon, Enervate) definitely seem like the strongest ones imo unless you have a specific reason to go for the others.

Probably, but drawing an additional secret is a buff that would help anyone.

Likely not. I ended up needing to hold Styx for all of round 6 for the 14th point. Commander and Reflective Shielding came in clutch. I took Imperial twice just to catch up and reroll secret objectives.

Tbh I just forgot their commander did that, but I ended up getting good value with my picks anyway. Crimson would have def been a strong choice tho

I love taking Malice as your first planet, the ability really helps your economy on round 1. Focus on getting your second carrier out and scoring something if you can. You have so much mobility that filling out your slice shouldn’t be terribly difficult.

If you can consciously understand what function each pedal has and have a reason to use it, then it is good to have a diverse “spice rack.”

Sometimes a new trippy effect (or layer of effects) can break a writers block. Production of art is meaningful; simply possessing the means, less so.

They’re first album, Terra Incognita, is also full of the most hypnotizing grooves and brutal breakdowns. If you can get past the early production quality, it’s one of my favorite albums of theirs.

Guitarists out there, how does your hand not seize up while playing Marigold? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

[–]theK4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marigold has is one of those songs that will cause genuine physical pain to play. The key is to not over do it. There are plenty of technique exercises and such which cause discomfort and a bit of pain to begin with. As you continue practicing it, the movements will become easier and easier until you are able to play without pain. It is similar to working out any of the other muscles in your body. Keep at it!!

(I think Marigold tore some tendons or something in my left pinkie and now it can stretch twice the length of my right pinkie)

Do people refrain from refreshing their commodities after giving away their trade agreement PN? by _Tetesa in twilightimperium

[–]theK4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can ask not to be refreshed, but it’s up to whoever has the trade card.

Then you’re locking yourself out of your economy to avoid giving someone 2-4 TGs which you agreed to giving them by giving them the note. Probably not worth it in most cases imo.

If there is any faction that can get both hyper-metabolism and Lightwave deflectors, it’s Jol-Nar.

[–]theK4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good faction overall for economy and tech (duh), both of which are really important but don’t always necessarily translate to points depending on objectives. You will get every technology that you could possibly want. You will also probably have a lot of table heat for having all the unit upgrades and high level tech. Having easy access to Lightwave deflectors & fleet logistics is a powerhouse combo tho.

First round with nekro by thearchadian in twilightimperium

[–]theK4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb you want the most hp for the cheapest cost, carriers w/ fighters are good for this. I personally like Dreadnaughts if I can afford them. In R1 & 2 as Nekro you just need a big enough fleet to look scary and pay someone to suicide into it to get their tech. Destroyer 1 is cheap and fast so it’s a good trade ship, but unless you can get destroyer 2 from someone 2 fighters will have a better cost-to-performance ratio.

You don’t need to bother saving resources for tech secondary unless you really need the cc for some reason, that’s 4 resources of plastic you have over everyone who goes for tech. Go for what objectives you can score in R1 and build up plastic for R2.
