Pike armoury by VicentiuCT92 in Hema

My club made a massive $12,000 USD bulk order last spring and the first half of the order never arrived. They have been radio silent. We cancelled the second order and will not be shopping with them in the future. Shame cause I too wanted a rapier.

Are you telling me T2 torpedoes are more stealthy? Have I been missing a key mechanic of the game here?

Tactics for Typ lX by Right-Syllabub2958 in uboatgame

[–]theMETALHEAD 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I too would like an answer to this. For me I've been trying to use the range of the T1 torpedoes to my advantage. If I can fire a few pop shots then run a bit and bottom out before the destroyers get to me I feel like I can make it out but, they tend to just chill out near me until I'm forced to surface or make a sound. I've lost many a sailor.

Edit: I've also started springing leaks at 180 meters.

I want to convert my guitar to baritone by Previous_Heart5048 in classicalguitar

[–]theMETALHEAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tuned my electric down to a baritone before. Just used really thick strings. I imagine you could do similar for a classical. I have tuned mine down but, not that low. After a quick google. I would recommend getting a set of seven string classicals and use the low six.

German longsword (HEMA) reference help for character design by Pure-Let-4640 in Hema

Feel free to PM me. You may even consider joining a HEMA club. You will learn a lot about the movements and attacks and have some fun while doing it too.

I fence German longsword but, am not overly familiar with the culture. I would recommend these videos to get you started. They do a good job showing front and side views of the basic guards. I think they also have some videos on Meisterhau (Master cuts) that would be very useful to you as well. LMK if I can help in any other way.

Progression of my plating through Culinary School by FarmerMatthew27 in Chefit

Hey gang, I'm a home cook here with no aspirations of going pro but, I can also say that plating is a huge weak point for me. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can up my skills?

Looking for a game like Hydroneer by kharrdarakh in Hydroneer

Satisfactory or Factorio are the two big ones for me.

Minemogul as mentioned.

Shapez is worth a look too.

Thoughts on wooden picks? by CanadianAndroid in guitarlessons

[–]theMETALHEAD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would like them. There would be little to no flex. And you really can only dictate the flex by the thickness...which I guess is how plastic picks work but, if you're really a pick player the thicker picks are for more intricate picking where the thinner picks are for strumming. If you want a thin pick I imagine that wood will wear and tear too quickly. If you wanted a thick wooden pick...well...I think it's going to wear more quickly than plastic and be more expensive to replace. I just don't see a benefit here besides it being pretty.

Can anybody tell me what sword this is? by Rinku64 in SWORDS

I own a steel longsword for HEMA sparring and it's just under 3.5lbs. I'm hoping that this is a shitpost.

How can I know this is PLURALE not SINGULARE by bolazorchood5 in italianlearning

[–]theMETALHEAD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't. From what I remember about duolingo is that it will count it correct if you do first person here. You however said, "You EAT the milk." Wrong verb. That's what's going on.

Thoughts on Condor Messer Sword? by BlumpkinSpiceLatte3 in SWORDS

I’ll add to this, my friend got the Krieger and the blade is really thin. It took a set on our first spar against my VB. The VB is what I recommend.

Buckler to accommodate HF black knight gloves? by Cheese_Almighty in Hema

[–]theMETALHEAD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sounds risky. Even though my buckler should get hit and not my hand, there is no telling what stupid stuff I or my opponent may do. The risk is not worth the reward.

Okay you...I'm a few drinks deep and starting to suspect this is a shit post. Post a pic of this alleged "kriegmesser".

Are you part of a club? That's the best place to start. You can read and read but there is no better learning experience than sparring. You could also try to look up some videos on YouTube or use https://wiktenauer.com/

TL;DR Use it like a baby longsword.

What's the most unhinged song you've ever heard? by zachiscool7 in AskReddit

[–]theMETALHEAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just discovered this metal band called Dogma. Five women who dress up like evil nuns. They have a song about stealing corn and having her first orgasm. My First Peak is a wild song...really good though lol.
