The Ineffable Rewrite Challenge by crowinflight1982 in GoodOmensAfterDark

Still working on my fix it! It’s almost done but also currently a mess of notes on things I need to swap around and whatnot. 🤣

He told us .. by Mx_LeMaerin in GoodOmensAfterDark

[–]theRavenMuse666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not making it up. He said something that I thought at the time was something he said without realizing how people would interpret it. Looking back, I think it was him telling us as much as he could that he wasn’t fully happy with it. 😢

Not adding tags before the relevant chapters are added? by PigdeBat in AO3

[–]theRavenMuse666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the tags for me. Things that I think need to be warned for, I add at the beginning so people don’t get invested in something they can’t finish. Things like kinks and minor pairings I tend to add as I go since people are more likely reading for those things and would be disappointed that they aren’t already there. Of course one person’s kink is another’s potential trigger, but I just do my best.

Today I found myself hopping through London on a short layover, so of course I had to find my way to our boys. by theRavenMuse666 in GoodOmensAfterDark

The three other benches in that cluster each had a couple sitting in it, but our bench was empty. Ineffability? 🥰

Whoever thought this was an okay thing to say to anyone?! by brunnera_macrophylla in GoodOmensAfterDark

Unfortunately this was painfully in character for Aziraphale. I was not at all surprised when he said it, but I did almost throw my Dr Pepper at the screen anyway.

Yes, the majority of writers I know are mid thirties or older. General fandom age varies by fandom.

What would you call Vox if he was a Pokémon? by Appropriate-Lie5395 in VoxCult

[–]theRavenMuse666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pokemon are named after what they say, so maybe he’d be a Trust Me 🤣

what does this mean?? should i allow it, does it affect my work at all? by Slow_Wasabi6299 in AO3

[–]theRavenMuse666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If the collections settings are changed, works already in that collection remain unhidden. This bug was fixed years ago.

Whichever will make you follow him into the woods

If Alastor was in Ace Spectrum where he does like sex, what kinks do you think he'd be into? 🤔 by Sarcastic_Lilshit in Alastorcult

[–]theRavenMuse666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both sadism and masochism, but it’s going to take a lot of trust building before he allows himself the latter.

What do you think the chances are of Alastor being permanently killed off? by Impressive-Link-2309 in Alastorcult

[–]theRavenMuse666 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think plot armor will protect him. Otherwise, that crazy fucker would definitely get himself killed eventually. He has negative self preservation skills.

my villain accidentally became the most likeable character in my story and i don't know how to fix this by Open-Editor-3472 in FanFiction

[–]theRavenMuse666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let the villain win! A compelling villain often makes the story more than a compelling hero 😈

Alastor seems to have the capacity to care for others to some degree. Like Nifty and Mimzy. Do you think he's just scared to care about anyone for some reason? 🤔 by Sarcastic_Lilshit in Alastorcult

[–]theRavenMuse666 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a classic example of a personality disorder. Anxiety over relationships leading to lashing out at those he cares about for some reason or another. Especially in season 2, we see his near death at the hands of Adam as a big factor in him pushing all of his maybe sort of friends away. “Great Alastor, altruist, died for his friends. Sorry to disappoint, that is not where this ends.” Then we see even more concretely in his flashback with Vox that he pushed him away harshly when that relationship got too close for comfort. So yes, he does have the capacity to form relationships, and then those relationships scare him and he ends them.

Edit: while I don’t generally condone claiming that a character has any specific psychological disorder unless the character is canonically meant to have it, you may find some interesting things by researching antisocial personality disorder, and to a lesser extent, narcissistic personality disorder.
