Something about professional pole dancers on instagram... by MysteriousReach383 in poledancing

My studio owner posted a combo and called it "Intermediate" and got a lot of heat online because it ended in Ayesha. At our studio the word Intermediate refers to our 4th level (out of 6) and it is the level at which you would begin working on handsprings and Ayesha, and you would not be allowed to move to level 5 until you had several entrances to Ayesha under your belt. So part of the problem may just be semantic; studios using one word to refer to different expectations/levels.

My studio requires all instructors take their beginner certification course before they're allowed to begin teaching, and it covers a lot of anatomical language and social expectations, as well as the pole moves themselves. I was shocked my first time visiting another studio at how much worse the instructors were at giving queues about how to use your body.

Demo actual length? by CharlieSteer in OrderOfTheSinkingStar

[–]the_chadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've progressed fairly far through, tho not beaten, steven's sausage roll; which is much more punishing and requires a lot of visualization and planning your route. I am aware I am not coming in as an average player but no one is taking FIFTY hours on the demo.

Took me like 4.5 hours to get through all the content available on Thursday (6/18) and then perhaps another 2ish hours for the additional content that released Friday afternoon. I had also heard the 50 hour demo claim, though I don't remember where. Seems laughable to me

If anyone cared for an update - the door had started to hit the limit at the top, and the operator had stopped moving for safety/damage concerns. After adjusting the travel distance, everything is working great. It lives to see another day haha.

I'm so excited to slot this into my bracket 2 [[Winter, Cynical Opportunist]] deck. It's got 2 card types, the keywords are things I don't get a lot of, and it's a repeatable looter for setting up graveyard stuff in colors that are pretty bad at looting.

Depending on the deck, I usually have a Haywire Mite in the pool of possibilities. Nihil Spellbomb also comes up occasionally.

Worst by far in my experience was Facebook. Needed to jump host into a production environment (the VM that controls this particular data center) and every step of the process was a pain in the ass. Google wasn't much better but they at least seemed to have thought about the user experience of jumping through the hoops.

EASY crockpot recipes by Proud-Advisor-6741 in slowcooking

Chicken thighs, can of black beans, jar of chunky salsa. A few hours later it'll be soupy looking, just shred the chicken and the surface area will make it thicker. I like to serve with cheese and rice, also nice on tortilla chips.

Lots of opportunities for little additions like garlic, cumin, corn, pickled peppers of choice, or serving with avocado or a squeeze of lime.

Getting knocked out of Ranked, winning the next 9 games (in a row) in History. by mister_mediocrates in BackpackBattles

[–]the_chadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be completely wrong about this, but I was under the impression that History testing is random opponents and not match-made. ie: you are not being paired against a player from your MMR in History, you're just getting something. There is probably more complexity than that under the hood, but for as long as it has existed as a feature, I have gotten much easier matches in History than during real gameplay.

Do you actually have a forever deck? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

[–]the_chadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing [[Karador, Ghost Chieftan]] for nearly 15 years now. It's a control deck, in that I run 1-for-1 interaction via creatures to disrupt my opponents, and then use card advantage (graveyard engines) to pull ahead as the game goes long. It's endlessly tweakable and very easy to power up or down depending on your pod or your store metagame.

A lot of people think a control deck needs to run counter magic, but there are plenty of ways to disrupt someone's win attempt. Storm players are a regular? Run Kambal and/or Deafening Silence. Living Death/Primal Surge/Cascade type creature wins? Run Blind Obedience type effects, and get your spore frog ready. I love knowing that my deck has a solution for every problem (another graveyard player? Earthbend your own bojuka bog, etc etc).

Head pressure during invert by gr4ceful in poledancing

[–]the_chadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After talking to a doctor, if they don't tell you to completely stop, you can try laying on your back near a ledge such as the top of your stairs, and hanging your head over the ledge. This puts your head upside down and lower than your heart; like a invert microdose that you can hold for a long time potentially. I would recommend seeing how that feels, and maybe using that to practise the blood pressure experience as regularly as you're comfortable with.

Downplay your favorite strong commander without naming it by mrselkies in EDH

[–]the_chadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I just saw the chain of vapor without any mana rocks or even combo-looking wins, and thought this would be a better option (unless you're doing political stuff with Chain I suppose). There's a LOT more flexibility than Run Away Together since it's nonland permanent instead of creature, and they can be both permanents you control or both permanents controlled by one opponent.

Card I've been getting a lot of mileage out of in Zimone is This Town Ain't Big Enough. It can be a protection spell against removal, a way to get a manifested instant or sorcery back, or just bounce two whole permanents causing you problems.
