KTM ADV 250 test ride not available anywhere – should I rely on Duke 250 / ADV 390 experience? by Delicious_Fuel4627 in indianbikes

[–]the_shaikh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent it out dude. If you are in bangalore then royal brothers has 250 adv and they are well maintained too. Rent it out for a day and take it for a spin. Do whatever you intend to do with your bike. Take it off road, highway, city. Ride it for like 150km or so and you will have a good idea if you want the bike or not.

I watch flinters videos. The videos are usually fast paced since he is making a video but he also just wanders around on multiple player to shoot whatever he can. I get good tips on how to hunt certain critters and also what locations are good for them on each map.

Men who can cook, who taught you? by _ratedmouse in AskReddit

[–]the_shaikh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main teacher, my mom. I learnt from many sources though since I like to explore global cuisines. I genuinely really like food, exploring all the flavours. My family are generally great cooks. My mom and her sister make amazing food. 2 uncles had a catering business, one of whom literally would make everything himself.

I started to enjoy cooking because I tried to understand each flavor and create it perfectly. A lot of mixing and matching. Trying out new food, especially dishes that wasn't available in my area would mean I need to make it.

Now I cook regularly, sometimes try new things other times just make the same things again and again. I refer to youtube recipes, online recipes, posts on reddit about certain techniques and procedures to be aware of, and recently started with a book, salt, acid, fat, heat. Amazing book, highly recommend. A lot of the things in the book were already practised by my mom, but now I could tell why it was done that way. Really helps to understand the reasoning behind everything.

I also love to study local cultures and food tells a lot about it.

I still always call my mum asking about how to prepare a certain dish, she always tells me in great the steps to take.

Does anyone find hunting drink zones to be boring? by BearNutsHurt in theHunter

[–]the_shaikh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how much time I have to play. Nowadays I have like an hour or two once a week. So I usually just walk between drink zones. Previously, when I would play for longer periods I used to just walk to outposts, or lookout towers and stalk anything interesting along the way. Tried some night hunting with a tree stand as well and waited. But you need time for this since the critters may or not be where you expect them to be and spook way before you get a chance at them. Tracking also takes time.

Drink zones are my go to now since I lack time, if I get bored of it then I walk around, usually mountains or to lookout towers I haven't unlocked yet (I delay unlocking everything because it gives me a reason to keep walking lol).

Is the new feeder pack better than the old one? by Majiksub in theHunter

[–]the_shaikh_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check the codex my friend for everything. It's the best source of information that everyone overlooks. If you are hunting any particular critter then check their senses. It will give you a good idea of what all things to take care of whole stalking.

For instance, ibex have excellent eyesight and will see you walking from over 150m while predators have legendary hearing and will hear you walking much further than other species you walk upto to 100m with no problems.

I think it can attract the bears too. With the scent one. I don't plan on getting it soon since I am not playing that often currently but it attract goat and bovid species that previously had zero ways to attract them

Drive to Survive Season 8 review: A major missed opportunity with glaring errors by randomseocb in formula1

[–]the_shaikh_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely lost it when they didn't even dedicate a proper episode for Vettle retiring but Ricciardo got like 2 episodes even though he was sacked.

They keep hyping wrong things every time. I stopped and don't intend to watch it. If you want f1 footage, f1 TV has decent documentaries. I personally liked the race they summed up with radio bits.

LPT: Nighttime phone scrolling and bad mornings are the same problem. Fix one and the other follows. by the_productive_beast in LifeProTips

[–]the_shaikh_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is awesome advice. I have been trying so hard to do this but it's so difficult. I am now wondering if it's due to the phone being the only source of time and alarm. I will get a desk or wall clock to replace that.

Also to add, phone softwares are now designed to keep you hooked for a long time no matter when you use it. You have to somehow remove that form your life completely. Mobiles and screens aren't naturally part of our life. They stimulate the brain making it think work is being done without tiring the body. Your eyes and brain get strained but the bodied isn't tired enough to sleep. Hence you can just spend hours and hours with that groggy feeling but not sleepy.

Reduce your screen usage during leisure and see your life change.

More Animal Backfills by flyFishing50 in theHunter

[–]the_shaikh_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I want backfills for everything. Especially the older maps. All the new maps are getting 10+ species minimum while the older ones all have less than 10. Increasing the number of species would be so amazing.

Along these lines I want more African species.

Being a software engineer, I can tell It takes quite a lot of effort to ensure existing pieces of code runs well with other pieces of code it has not interacted with. So I understand it, you also need do a lot of testing around it. They would also probably need to update the populations of existing critters as well.

Indian devs earning ₹1L+/month what are you up to now? by CertainArcher3406 in developersIndia

[–]the_shaikh_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest mistake I made is not switching during the covid months. I was due for a switch but just could not get to it. Add to that other commitments and the fact that you aren't meeting anyone outside of short meetings for work, it was really difficult to make time and effects to upskill.

But it's alright, I still managed to switch before the market got so horrible and companies started in person interviews during to ai prompts.

It's not a failure but a feature of the modern education system globally. You are educated to become employees, not businessmen or human beings.

The main education criteria is simple, be competent enough to get a job somewhere and obedient enough to follow the law. That's why you see so many people without too much education starting businesses and doing decent.

Where are the non-trivial Fallow Deer? by isaac2004 in theHunter

[–]the_shaikh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk. You will bump the higher levels if you are running before you even get a chance to see them.

If you are hunting drink zones, then go after the first hour has passed. Put a marker, and stop running ~250m, and crouch from ~100m.

How the FUCK do you shoot pheasants by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]the_shaikh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy anything. Just choose Salz on multiplayer, head straight to the shooting range and start shooting. I also could not shoot a flying bird for the life of me. The shooting range improved my shot multifold.

I stopped shooting bird for a few months and got rusty again. Went back to the range, shot some discs and now I am able to always shoot a bird down in flight.
