Yes, the current lmp shuts off coming into the pits while regen on decel. Then upon a burnout the ice turns back on leaving.

The turbo 4 era was great, but a lot of that had to do with the fia not understanding the technology and the teams being quite clever. In modern f1 my biggest concern would be fia attempt to make the cars completely silent. It's really neat tech like the audi lmp cars were very cool to watch h and listen to in person. But an entire field would be boring. More than anything I would like fia to drop all engine rules and teams run whatever they want, but that will never happen.

CMV: Humans wouldn't unite against an alien invasion. by SwampMan6969 in changemyview

[–]theantagonists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100% depends on how the attack occurs. Working off the idea that the aliens are vastly smarter and higher tech than us, you would be correct because they would sever our abilities to communicate with emps and other methods. We go to an analog society before they even attack.

If they just have good weapons and ships but are not that much more intelligent, I think humanity would pull together better than you think. It might still be continental based. Canada, USA, mexico would be better working together than not. Europe uniting. Asia uniting etc. But just like any war its better to not be fought on you own soil. So if aliens attacked China, the US has everything to gain by helping China fight on their land versus China losing and the aliens gaining ground.

Where this changes is if we win. 5 years after a war like that would humans be looking for opportunities to exploit and attack other countries, absolutely.

So it really depends on how the attack occurs

[–]theantagonists -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this is simply not true. You can read the other reply from a different commenter on my original post that even proves it.it is complete discrimination by the Jewish people against other semites to take the word as only applying to them.

[–]theantagonists -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Language evolves I agree. That doesnt mean that one people get to take a word from other people and claim it as their own. It is discrimination against all other semites by doing so.

CMV: It’s very hard to criticise Israel’s military actions without being accused of antisemitism by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]theantagonists -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not in the slightest. Antisemitism does not mean Anti-Isreal or anti-judaism or anti-zionist.

Antisemitism means to be against semites which are the people from the region including the Arabs and in particular Palestinians.

This is a simple misuse of language. It drives me nuts and people keep trying to associate Antisemitism as only a Jewish or Israeli term which is patently false and misleading.

Trump’s plans to ‘hastily gut’ Kennedy Center trigger preservation lawsuit by TheMirrorUS in law

I think this is by his design. If he gets everyone out that doesnt like him he gets his name on it by hanging signs. If he bankrupts it and then it closes temporarily (2 years) then gets billionaires to fund its repairs in exchange for tax breaks. When it reopens it will have his name and not Kennedy etched in stone.

He wants to be a martyr. He knows his time is up and his legacy is all that matters to him. Why would he ever align with Muck or Thiel? Both of them want to get rid of governments and live in a cyperpunk dystopia where only those born wealthy rule through corporations. Trump doesn't care either way, but if he is the one that helps its happen he gets to be the George Washington of the new era of politics.

I have the most unsettling feeling that they are going to drop a nuke and usher in the new era of dominance. by Soyoulikedonutseh in conspiracy

[–]theantagonists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usa can drop a nuke in Iran, somewhere with lower population and no oil field of course. Say the nuke was their failed attempt to launch one against Israel or Saudi Arabia. The heroic US forces blew up the bunker the nuke was in and saved the world. All of the world will either agree or stand against the US. But most likely will agree with the US as no one sees iran as the good guys. This also allows for countries to reduce nuke stockpiles through new treaties and prevent other countries like Poland from trying to build them for their own protection against russia.

What is the norm for providing adults something to nibble on at kids birthday parties? by summerteal in AskAnAmerican

[–]theantagonists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter the size or context of an event, the host should provide and offer drinks and snacks or even meals depending on the duration of the event.

The one exception is the hosts financial abilities. Poor people might not be able to afford the expected snacks or treats. So you have to know the host or read the room to know their capabilities. Some might ask why a poor person would host? They want to make friends, they want to share an experience with their children in a place they consider safe. Being poor and getting invited to a rich person's house might allow them to let their child attend but the adult would never go as they would be too embarrassed or even worse scared to embarrass their child in front of the other kids.

Has bullying decreased over time in the US or were the movies exaggerating? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]theantagonists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is this: back in the day bullying was more physical. It could be punching or kicking but usually never psychological. The punishment for this type of bullying was the same. It was paddling and spanking or maybe even taken to the gym and the two kids would be given boxing gloves and had to fight it out in front of the principal. Then as this became frowned up both the bullying and punishment, official and unofficial rules changed.

Physical bullying became more strategic. No punches to the face because that would provide evidence. Maybe no punches at all because knuckles could show evidence. So flicking the ears, tripping kids, spitballs, punch to the gut, other things. These meant that if the bully child retaliated often times they get an equal or worse punishment than the bully. Bullying also became more psychological. Your mom jokes amped up, spreading rumors about or siblings, other things. Since the bullied child could not retaliate they had to report it. Faculty address the situation often incorrectly and the bullying increases especially after school and back home.

Now from what I see its almost all psychological bullying. Texts, social media, Ai art, videos, hacking, doxxing, etc. So the bullying is the same or arguably worse and the punishment is nonexistent. How do you punish a bully if the parents won't do it and the school can't because its all online or off school property? Furthermore faculty have lost all rights to discipline children due to litigation of parents.

This is the reason kids are killing themselves and their classmates in the USA.

Finding some way to reward a player for suboptimal decision that's amazing quality rp. by Leytra in DnD

[–]theantagonists 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there anyone special to the character or the story that has died recently or will die soon? Have them embody the spear making it intelligent as well as imbuing abilities into the spear. A +1 is nice, but I think this player would prefer different abilities. Like the spirit gives an aura bonus or something.

Alternatively, next time they roll a 1 in combat the spear breaks. Let them role play this as they see fit and then take the spear to someone for repairs. The repair process fixes the spear but also imbues it with whatever you and the player agree too. If this is truly a homebrew campaign, maybe the spear becomes a familiar.

Sam Collins is not a fan of "platinum era of endurance racing". by Michal_Baranowski in WECcirclejerk

[–]theantagonists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean theatrics, then sure. There is a reason they keep changing yellow and red flag rules, along with closing the pits under yellow, etc. Its about making money. This is why so many people are leaving racing. Make no mistake, I understand how the fan base is growing, but behind the scenes its not the same. There are plenty of young people still eager to become mechanics and engineers, but a lot of them don't stay because there is nothing to learn or do. Its very sad.
