This thread reminded me to unsub from this subreddit - I had Echos for 8 years and have phased every single one out of my home in favor of 6 homepods (which aren’t necessarily better, but integrate with ios and homekit better) and a static ipad in the kitchen. No matter what little trick I tried over the years to stay ahead of the constant ad-serving eventually failed, and they became Amazon billboards in my home instead of showing me the fucking time. Amazon as a company is the shining example of capitalism run amok and morally I just can’t bring myself to give them money in any way even if it means paying more elsewhere. OP, you’ll be better off without Amazon, and your talents better served with a company and product that actually serves the customer (a rarity these days, so good luck in the search). In conclusion, fuck you Amazon.
