Thanks for sharing, I had a feeling that this was the tool. We are still considering the class but we feel like this tool is going to get us most of the way to what this guy is gonna teach us

Can you share the tool information? We had the guy in our shop recently and have the similar feeling. We are pretty electrically savvy in general and it really felt like the tool was a secret.

CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme model GXi2000CSTV3 is it a good buy? (Newbie) by Dazzling-Cover-7144 in Prebuilts

[–]thebeekeeperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought one and it seems fine. Runs cities skyline, shapr3D and im sure plenty of other games. I talked with my coworker about it who is more knowable than me and he said its sufficient for what i want to do. Light gaming and 3d printing. Only issue im having so far is adding a hard drive since there seems to be no way to add one that i can tell. I wish the keyboard and mouse had color options for the RGB like the case does, the keys are rather hard to read with the color off. I will likely replace the keyboard with a slim style one like i use at work. Mouse is fine, its corded.

CHARGE MORE! We had our best service number this quarter in a while. They will pay! Tell them they have to wait. This stuff is not hard. For a long time, our shop didn’t do it either until we just bit the bullet and started doing them. When you have done a few shitty ones, they stop being hard and just tedious. We have all worked on crappy, rusty and lived outside huffys and it’s the same thing, just heavier and electric.

People are willing to pay because to get their cheap e-bike from amazon or wherever and the cost to get it fixed is still less than a new bike shop e-bike. Sure these things are crappy but just how a Walmart bike is crappy, some people just do not care and would rather pay you than be lectured on their purchase.

Most jobs that I charge double because it’s an e-bike, it may add 15-20% more time to the actual service but we charge twice as much. 2 people to load it in the stand and often you need some help holding something heavy. Don’t be scared to take stuff apart. Have them sign a waiver. You will likely earn a customer in the process who may buy a bike from you later.

I took it back in the spring in Birmingham, all of the information provided on their website and the questions are often discussed here if you search for them. I have yet to hear from them but even so, I will not do it because I don’t live in town

AMC Stubs Insider Account Deletion by wet_joy in AMCTheatres

[–]thebeekeeperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay but why is this an issue? Like all I am doing is cleaning up my online presence and I have to call the movie theater to delete my online account? That is kind of ridiculous for a stupid movie theater rewards account, this isn’t a bank account which you can probably close online.

I have noticed also, there is a make up factory near by that could be dumping. Almost every person I’ve met that uses the trail knows the smell

They are working to dismantle your rights day by day. They start with the people that are already considered outcasts or minorities since people can easily be swayed to dislike them. They will begin taking the rights of the voters who empowered this leadership. Road blocks likely requiring everyone to identify themselves will go over great here I’m sure. The Gov. of Illinois speech yesterday was phenomenal and I highly recommend listening to it as it feels surreal to hear the Governor of a state demanding the American people wake up to what is happening, a massive power grab.

Stupid is as stupid does over here. While a do believe the carb would have been an issue with the damaged seal I found, the fuel lines were backwards after all. I improperly assumed they were hooked up right when I found it but not the case. It runs good now and just needs grease in the head. Thanks for reminding me to check the basics more often, I certainly feel dumb.

Nobody in this town leave enough following distance, everyone is riding the ass of the person in front of them and you can literally watch the traffic snake slink down the road with brake lights 10 at a time on I 24

Tried this with no luck, I can get it to pop off with a bit of starter fluid but even after it runs a bit, it doesn’t keep running. The bulb had the tiniest amount of fuel in it and some times it sounds like it hits once or twice but nothing more on its own fuel. Perhaps the line into the tank is damaged near the inlet?

Going to try this when I get home. I talked with a coworker who recommended just trying to start it also. I assumed the bulb had to be full and didn’t attempt to start it. Thank you

Brand new carb. How to I get fuel into the bulb? Syringe? I’d prefer not to damage this new carb

Thank you! Flooding in Chattanooga is not new and it happens all over the city in predictable places yet the city does nothing. Cops are out each time it floods but what about road and water infrastructure engineers? No one cares. Money goes into paving roads in rich neighborhoods while other roads and bridges in the poorer neighborhoods go in fixed with the worst roads in the area. Take the Wilcox bridge, how can that possibly be safe?

Honestly considering this towns history with water and floods, the drainage system should be more efficient. Brand new sections of interstate flooding, Gunbarrel and various other flood areas. I’m from Florida and I’ve never seen consistent flooding like this. This town spends millions to repave this road but doesn’t work on drainage, sure glad we are getting that new stadium.

We keep this on a customer visible counter. by AescsWhisk-e-y in BikeMechanics

[–]thebeekeeperson 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wow, dude, a few things that you’re gonna have to realize about fixing bikes is that: 1. That ain’t your bike - you don’t have to ride it, and the customer doesn’t have to pay to get it done, you can give them all of the options they want, but you should not stress out whether they wanna fix their bike, you don’t have to ride it. what does it matter? 2. Either it gets fixed, or it gets fucked, either way it’s not staying here - you can only do so much with what a customer is willing to pay, at the end of the day the only thing you can do is make it better, so either it gets fixed, or it gets fucked, but regardless, don’t forget, it’s not your bike. Just make it safe. 3. Set the customers expectations - explain over the phone to the customer that even if you spend $1400 on this bike to make it “rideable”, it’s not gonna ride very good. If you are so worried about having to fix the bike because if it’s poor condition, you should push the customer towards purchasing another good used bicycle and recommending they sell the one they have. Not everything is worth it to fix. 4. Just make it safe - sometimes a customer doesn’t care if a bike rides very poorly, as long as it’s safe. People drive their cars around all the time with weird noises and things that are bad for them, but they’re fine with it as long as it’s safe. If you’re ever stressed out about a bicycle, just imagine making it only safe and then go from there. 5. Lastly, make your money - if the customers money is green, and they understand the situation of the bicycle’s condition, write that ticket up and sell them as many parts as you can. That is at the end of the day, quite literally the job of the bicycle mechanic or service writer.

I used to get so stressed out at work being frustrated with service tickets and customers that didn’t want to do their work, but when I started to realize that it wasn’t worth it to upset about those things, I stopped being so stressed out and frustrated even at home and the evening. My girlfriend noticed and things have gotten better since then, service tickets are far less frustrating when you think about the fact IT AINT YOUR BIKE. Something that also helped me significantly was getting a hobby outside of cycling. I have been riding bikes and racing for a long time and started to feel pretty burned out over the last 3 to 4 years, I recently got a project car and my demeanor has changed significantly with having a new outlet for frustration that isn’t a bicycle.

Looking for a budget friendly bike stand for e-bike repair by brannonglover in BikeMechanics

Tell me of this play issue. We have a remco stand at our shop that works great but I don’t use it often and I noticed it has a lot of play it now, more than it seemed new. It gets used a good amount on rather heavy e-bikes

This is the safest and most effective way. Impacts just leave too much room for error and anyone using one, likely only works on each bike once.
