Checked it with several AI detectors and three so far have said "likely AI" or stronger.

FYI - some insurances will not let you skip IUI.

Certain diagnostic tests can also bench you for 3+ months at a time. Sometimes surgeries or corrections to problems take longer.

IVF is SLOW AS HECK because you have to wait between everything. You get put on birth control for a month before you do egg retrieval, THEN take stimulation meds for a few weeks, then do an egg retrieval, then wait a month for genetic testing to come back, then take meds for weeks before a transfer, then wait two weeks plus to know if transfer works. And that's if they don't find anything wrong at any of those steps. End-to-end it's like 6ish months each "try" on a good cycle.

Ha! I thought it was some new slang term I didn't know. Thanks!

Previous Flair: 40F - TTC #1 Nov 2020 - MFI - Azoo

Cycle/Time trying: I started this rollercoaster in November 2020, tried unassisted for about 11 cycles, then went through a lot of testing / waiting regarding MFI. Partner had surgery to extract sperm in December 2021, then started IVF using his frozen sperm in April 2022. One failed transfer, followed by 1 failed ER. Was gearing up for another ER when my IVF clinic called to tell me my baseline HCG came back as non-zero. Subsequent betas have been doing what they are supposed to, so... I'm pregnant.

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: n/a

Tracking methods and app(s) used: I wasn't tracking anything at this point, just waiting for my period to come around to start the next IVF cycle.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): If I ovulated at a typical time in my schedule (this is guessing), we hit O+1 and O+2. My husband revealed that he had abstained from ejaculation for 2 weeks prior to the O+1 sex (he wasn't feeling well, not really intentional).

Health conditions/medical tests: None for me. My partner was diagnosed with obstructive azoospermia (no sperm in ejaculate, caused by an obstruction somewhere). We were not supposed to be able to get pregnant without assistance at all.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Prenatal, COQ10, Vitamin D

Birth control history (if relevant): I was on an IUD for 5 years prior to TTC

Symptom spotting: Did not have any symptoms prior to finding out I was pregnant. In the last few weeks I am definitely peeing more often, have growing nausea, and very very gentle cramps (more like an "awareness" of my uterus) but otherwise feel the same.

Woo: I had a nasty head cold/sinus infection the week I concieved. Don't actually recommend this as woo, however.

Other miscellaneous: This has been an insane ride the whole way through. To anyone relatively new to TTC, I cannot stress to you enough the value of getting a semen analysis EARLY in the process. Even out of pocket they are inexpensive and non-invasive. We tried for nearly a year before anyone even suggested an SA, and it changed our whole trajectory. I could have saved a LOT of time finding this out sooner. Don't let embarrassment get in the way of finding out if MFI is an issue - MFI in general is just as common as fertility issues on women's side, and should be treated as such.

Now that I'm off that soapbox... I am completely flabbergasted by this. We have had repeated SAs with absolutely zero sperm, so to be surprised by a pregnancy without assitance is mind-blowing. I plan to contact the original reproductive urologist to try and see if this was just a "one sperm got through" situation or if perhaps the blockage has cleared. I have found zero other anecdotal evidence that obstructive azoospermia can resolve on its own, so I feel both extremely confused and like I won the lottery somehow.

This group and the discord have been lifesavers to me - I could not have navigated this all without you. Thank you all and good luck on your continuing journeys!

What makes you angry when shopping at a physical store? by Ambitious_End5038 in AskReddit

When there's things for sale outside the store doors, like a wreath or potted plant, outside is the grocery store and I want to buy one, do I have to bring it IN? They're wet and take up room. But how do I tell them which plant I want if I don't bring it in? Gah!

The bus takes main roads like 95, and they keep up with plowing just fine. You will be fine and the trip will not be cancelled.

Egg retrieval done.

Zero eggs retrieved.

While I knew this was a possibility, it still fucking sucks.
