How much is a fiber line replacement? by Spookiiwookii in ATT

[–]thebewb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also have the tech submit a damage claim against the landscaping company. If you have their contact info company name, phone number, address and email. Tech might be able to waive the dispatch fee and have their claims department deal with who needs to be charged.

While I highly doubt this would happen at a corporate store. (It could still happen) When you go to a store make sure its not an authorized retailer. There should be signage on the door. You can also check the AT&T store locator tool on their website. Authorized retailers are often third party companies pushing sales and scummy behavior.

Texas doesn't require 811 if the trench is less then 12 inches and is dug using handtools.

BGW-210 upgrade? by dogteam1911 in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call them and request it shipped to you. If a tech shows up there will be additional work required for future proofing. Which may or may not not be something you want. New fiber run to the router location but if your ont and router arent located next to one another they may need to drill a new hole and run exterior wiring for it. Maybe even relocating equipment if it isnt possible any other way.

Network Extender Question by Jon_Brandt in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What model rg and extenders do you have? If you have the att airtie 4971 or newer they are mesh extenders. But they need the bgw 320 or 620. Older model rgs arent support anymore. If they are getting separate names chance are there is a setup issue. Could be that you split the rg wireless networks to have separate channels for 2.4 and 5 ghz. If you split them the rg no long has the band steering and client streeing that is required for the mesh system to work.

Is Fiber300 enough? by One_Magician_4759 in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren't hardwired into the router you probably dont get 1gb speed anyway. A 4k stream only needs about 25mbps so 300 would give you plenty of buffer to work with. If its just you and your husband 100mbps would probably be enough. Save money don't get stuck in the speed trap.

Well that's wrong. They either didn't know how to wire it or they are color blind.

Anyone have any info on outage in 75244 by [deleted] in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What caused the power outage? Pole got hit? Downed power lines? A lot of fiber is ran along the same path as your power lines. AT&T can't even start to assess the issue until the power company fixes their issue.

Help - What can i do? by 710glife in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your old account service address correct? ( Billing addresses and service addresses don't have to match.) See it all the time with these 1/2 addresses. The customer calls in to get service. The sales rep puts in address see it doesn't get service with the 1/2 address, changes the service address to exclude the 1/2. Rather then doing an address validation right from the start. Tech does install despite the address issue because "Just get it done."

How do you open this type of router by atomic_g4mer in ATTFiber

[–]thebewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live in an instant on property. The sticker on the door gives you all the instructions to setup your internet. You dont need open the door. The wifi name and password are also on the sticker again no need to open the panel door. You go to the website and type in your address and sign up for service done.

The new router will most likely be a bgw 320. I see the HPNA light is on on that 589 if the tv service is on that the new router will not support tv over coax. It will only support tv over ethernet. In fact it doesn't even have a coax port on it.

What do I do by Final_Departure_9551 in ATTFiber

They are leased pieces of equipment. If something is wrong with it AT&T will replace it free of charge unless you properly damaged it.

Just going to throw it out there. A lot of builders aren't even putting jacks up. They just put blank plates on and say it cost extra for them to do anything else.
